Ravnica II will have to be really awesome to stand up to Innistrad in my mind. I have loved every moment of Innistrad.
Of course, I wasn't around for Ravnica one and don't know what the actual plot was back then.
From what my buddies at the Galaxy have told me, it seems that the second Ravnica block will mark a shift in what may be considered by some as an increasingly high curve. This curve, for extreme lack of a better term, really reared its head in Zendikar with the Legendary Eldrazi. How do you top that kind of power? Infect and Praetors in the second Mirrodin block. How do you top that? Spiffy Angels and +1/+1 counters in Innistrad.
The second Ravnica block will apparently feature a toning down of sorts of the intensity of the battlefield, which will apparently reflect the next six years of the game.
As for the story behind Ravnica, I don't know much. I do know it was an experiment in opposing color cards (like red/white, black/white, blue/green, blue/red, etc.) and, if I'm not cinfusing Ravnica with Lorwyn, it was the first attempt at such. I can't remember which block debuted first.
The plane of Ravnica is split up into different Guilds, with each Guild being represented by two opposing colors. I think there was some sort of conspiracy going on, but I know nothing of it.
Chick? Chick posing as a dude? Extraterrestrial? You decide!
So I am thinking about doing the sealed prerelease for 2013...wondering what's best to do in that? Stick to one to three colors? Also what's a good balance for mana in doing such a tournament? I've never played in a sealed or draft before so not sure. All I know is it's 6 packs build a 40 card minimum deck...

Depending on the set and what I pull, my go-to in a draft is usually "white/blue evasion creatures and every equipment I see". Sometimes I splash for black. Depending on what you end up with, 16-18 land is traditional.

Okay cool I want to play but don't want to play too competitively as I don't want to spend the money to be so. Plus I'll end up buying boosters anyways so might as well kill two birds with one stone.
Also pulled a Mythic Rare on Saturday. Was told it was a 30 dollar one from Avacyn. A spell that creates 4/4 angels.
Oi, so I was going to try to do draft on Friday but it's a sealed two headed giant...good that it's sealed, bad that it's 2 headed giant as I don't have a partner to play with. Not sure if it's worth the chance to go and hope there's another person that needs a partner or try to find someone to play with me :-/. Granted not 100% sure what 2 headed giant is either.
Two-headed giant is pretty simple. You and a partner share a life total, and take your turns at the same time, but are otherwise separate. Life totals start at 30 instead of 20. In constructed THG, you can't have more than 4 copies of a card between the two partnered decks.
Ahh, well this is sealed and I don't have a partner, which sucks because It's probably the last time I'd be able to play with the Avacyn stuff :-/. Pretty sure at this point I am going to do the midnight prerelease of 2013 at this point as it's the first day of my two week vacation.

The 1st Ravnica block came before Lowyn.
In the storyline, the Guilds are no more, and Ravnica is being torn apart by warring factions trying to fill the void of power left behind by the former Guilds. I'm guessing the new story will be about Jace stepping in with his new Infinite Consortium to take control over Ravnica. Look for appearances by Lillanna, Tezzaret, Nicol Bolas, and maybe even a Planeswalker card for Baltrice.
Looks like there is planeswalker cards for all the main Planeswalkers in 2013 :s. at least that is what they showed in Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013...
They're okay. There's some good stuff in them but they're all older sets (Phyrexian block and Zendikar block) that are due for retirement. So if you play just standard, it's a waste of money, but if you play Legacy, then you're good to go.

I wouldn't recommend buying a sealed anything, ever if you play Legacy. Or most formats, except standard and kitchen table casual. I've never seen a deck-building kit opened, but they seem like a decent value for new players.
Edit: Or sealed, obviously. Gotta buy sealed packs if you play sealed. Unless you have a cube.

That sounds like Entreat the Angels, a white Sorcery with Miracle. I have one myself, it's saved my butt a couple times.
I gots a Bruna, I gots a Bruna . . .
Oh, by the way, my original thoughts on the game getting dumbed down? I'm totally wrong. Reprinting Primordial Hydra? And Garruk, Primal Hunter? And giving us a spiffy Ajani? Yeah, I don't know what I was smoking that day.

So question here as I am having issues keeping up with any previews they are doing for 2013...what should I look out for to use or for other people using when I do my prerelease sealed on Friday? Keep in mind I haven't played in about 10 years other then Duels of the Planeswalkers and a couple games using starter decks.

You know previews are done, right? The entire set is up. That said, play what you pull. I like the look of mono-black control, especially if you get a Mutilate and a Cower In Fear or two. Use those uncommon ring equipments. Arctic Aven and Harbor Bandit are fantastic, and you should consider building around those if you see them. I'm not that impressed by red for this set, although red/white with tokens and Trumpet Blast could be good.
