Interesting, Prodigal Son has double rewards. The 5* needed is Cable, and I don't have him. I spent 800cp to try to pull him but no luck got a bunch of 5*s but not Cable.

I am tempted to pay the CP for HFH but he does not seem to be on the list of upcoming hires.

I am also pretty sure that if we had BHs then I could have set Cable as my BH and probably would have pulled him after spending 800CP, instead I am still working toward Kitty, 170 shard to go! (57 more pulls )

Prodigal Son is a 7 day event. The progression rewards for those are doubled to make up for how one would normally have two cycles of prog rewards in that time.

It drops the ball by not doubling the placement rewards, too, because you wind up short-changed there.

I would expect him to be there, and he should be 250CP since he is old.

800 cp would be 40 pulls, so 5-6 5*s would be expected. That’s not quite a sure bet. (Remember, I pulled well over 100 five star covers before my first BH. To be clear....that is not 100 legendary tokens, that is 100 5*’s, so probably somewhere over 700 legendary tokens.)

How is Prodigal Son set up? Are they all 24 hour nodes or are there some 48 hour ones?

I figured phant had not yet seen a 7-day.

If you look in the bracket document, there is an events tab that gives the breakdown. For this it lists 7x24.

So here is the big question, when to join?

I can join the beginning and grind through and hope to get a good placement with all progression rewards --or-- I can join at a "convenient" flip and just hope for a good placement.

I think it all depends on how awake I am at 11pm

Like, usually the replayable ones stick around for the whole event, but sometimes they go away, so you need to drain their points.

I did not stay awake. Since I was not able to stay awake I might not HFH the Cable depending on when I can join a new flip. I think all I really want is to get the progression covers.

If I can join a new flip today then I will take a Cable and try to ride high. I hope I can do that.

Full prog should be possible even missing 1-2 days in this event.

Points scale up in the later rounds and any extra clears you manage beyond the needed 4... or 5? get you closer and closer. So don't fret yet.

I believe they all stay open the entire event.

I believe that full progression is based on the points one would get if one did clears 1-4 plus an immediate clear of 5 (ie, no point regen) for all nodes, excluding the 5* essential. Lots of wiggle room to make up points in there.

Gah...I hate that the PVE sub placement tiers do not match up to the overall tiers, specifically that there is no T20 for the sub. (Well, if they left the completed sub screen up, that would work, too.). The point is that I would like to know where I finished since I am generally not awake to see the end.
I actually woke up in the middle of the night and looked. If I had been high enough I might have done clears 1-4 before going back to sleep, but I saw t50 and said screw it. When I did get up and do them, I was 14th overall, so I must have been well into t20, but I forgot that doesn’t exist in the subs.

The reason is that I might try for t20 in this PVE to get the extra wolfsbane cover. If I got two, plus the next progression, plus the Simulator, I would be at nine.

MAnaged to get into 4.8 and no matter when I join as long as I am in the first 20 that join I always, ALWAYS, finish the grind at 11th place. Last PVE I tried a different way for my final grind and ended up at 8th place. SO at this point it is just who can get the most points the fastest. I am not that fast yet as I know I pretty much need champed 4*s. Why? GrittyJuggs

GrittyJuggs is not only the worst name for a table dancer but it is the best name for my team I use in PVE, they can usually take out all essential nodes without required characters. As I am building my 5* roster, there is such a difference when there is a boosted 5 needed. They can take a lot of hits.
