Got into a good flip for the new event (5.10) which has me getting up at 1am to play. No complaints, I'm looking at a possible T20, something I haven't accomplished in a while (because I hit a lull in playing, just keeping up with progression in PVE, virtually skipping the last 2 PVP seasons)

I've been enjoying the Polaris/Beta Ray Bill combo. Was using Captain M5rvel for the longest time and then got turned onto ... get ready for this ... 4* Thanos. Even though Thanos needs 12 AP Green power to go off (2 more than Marvel's 10), but I find that once I fire the power, with Marvel I need to analyze and worry about where that first shot is going to fire, and maybe I'll miss the rows I need to get the winfinite going. But with Thanos, that virtually never happens. He's blowing up half the board and you just need to get 12 of your shields into that half (less, accounting for cascades). Much more reliable.

New Quests feature, in brief. I'm sure the actual quests will have more variety day by day, but for today:

For ISO (between 200 and 800)
. 250 ISO - Deal X damage to enemies (for me, at SCL 189, it was 25K)
. 200 ISO - Win 3 Story missions
. 700 ISO - Train 3 powers
. 400 ISO - Use 1 Team-Up
. 200 ISO - Win 1 Versus mission
. 200 ISO - Use 3 Health packs
. 800 ISO - Buy anything from Resources shop

For 30 3* Shards, 20 4* Shards, 3 Taco tokens, and 5K ISO:
. Complete 6 Quests

So... assuming I'm not buying anything from the resources shop, this all seems pretty easy to accomplish and that's just about 7K in ISO for doing stuff that I'm already doing. And some shards. Not terrible

Am I wrong that the resources shop includes spending 35HP on some 3* shards?

If you have it, and aren't doing some of the other stuff everyday, seems a small investment.

How did you train your powers?

Recruiting does not seem to count for that, btw. Also, respec’ing a champ does not count.

I used 1* covers (spend 300 to get 700 was worth it, plus getting the daily bonus)

I can confirm, this works to satisfy the quest

So I have three 1* toons on my roster, all full and maxed.
Are you saying that I will need to buy a roster slot simply to get this quest done every day?
(I doubt that they will change daily. I think that they gave us seven things. You need to do six. They would have taken a ton of heat if they required a “purchase” every day for this.)

Overall, this just seems more annoying than anything.

Well if you're 2-star farming, you probably have at least one toon that is getting trained each day, no?

But yeah, you need to hit the TRAIN button, so find a way. And stop hating on us completionists who don't have the same problems you minimalists do. LOL

My list included using 1 Boost, using 1 Team-up, Win 1 PvP match, Deal Damage, Win 3 Story missions (DDQ counts), and use 3 Healthpacks, which I just did with my 2-stars during DDQ since I knew I wasn't playing anything else today.

I am 2* farming, but the acquisition of 2*s is much slower in cl10. Plus, I don’t have the surplus roster slots I once had after the prior roster slot sale, so I tend to save up my covers until I have to buy a new slot or something can be sold.

Interesting. Mine exactly matched nbperp’s, which is why I assumed that they were the same for everyone (and would not change).

I got one today that said open 4 cover packs. You can only use Heroic, Elite, and Standard. I did not try LL because I am not going to waste that on a question. Deadpool taco tokens do not count and I imagine that any vault tokens do not work either.

Lightning Round works for PVP missions

I think 5* Deadpool is on a 25 hour timer to get a spicy token.

Just to be realistically cynical, since 3 Spicy tokens are a prize for completing the 6/7 daily quests D3 is pretty much saying that they are worth less than standard tokens since it is 2:40 chance to pull the cover or support. You can get a vault full of tokens every 10 - 14 days depending if you get the daily 5* Deadpool drop. However, the spicy vault allows very casual players to get those boosts if they don't earn them otherwise.

Another thought, since it takes 10 - 14 days to get a full vault of spicy tokens it does mean than in a month's time we could get at least 2-3 4* toons. What does that mean, you would get a minimum of 24 - 36 4*s a year because of the daily rewards. I do appreciate this hidden gem since there are so many 4*s in the game now.

I guess the next strategy to consider is, while there are about ten 4*s where you really want the covers due to their meta and other than if they insert a limited toon when do you decide to pull the trigger to go for some random 4*?

Consequently, since there does not seem to be a pattern yet of which 4* cover shows up in the spicy vault how many tokens are you going to save up until you are comfortable enough to go for the 4* cover?

Go to 40+ for me, then wait for a good'un, like Polaris.
