Isn't that basically what's being said by the "Don't Clix (Property I Don't Like)" crowd?
Nope. I'm saying I'd rather they keep anime in its own game, and I cannot see why such a diverse and robust medium wouldn't lend itself to a standalone game.
I'm also saying that such a wide blowing open of the game would make me likely want to give it up altogether. Don't like GURPS, don't like MUGEN, neither interest me, and I have no interest in playing a game that would logically capture that (lack of) feel.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?
I need 1200 points worth of figures 150 points or higher figures :-/ taking on just about all the giant sized figures from GSX...thinking of using Sinestro from DC75 as I haven't used him yet as one of the figures. Outwit is now perplex for the scenario as well...what about Skin suit Doom? I used to love that figure...

Since the beginning of the game there've been characters that I didn't want to play against.
There are characters that I like and characters that I don't. I collect what I want and ignore what I don't.
But you can't ignore them when they are being played against you.
For me, I can accept characters that I don't like in teams that make sense. But when people start using Min/Max strategies it makes it even worse.
The point? There's scads of stuff that I/you don't like in HeroClix already and more is on the way.
I deal with it.
You don't like wacky/goofy stuff? I don't see people quitting over Squirrel Girl.
You don't like ninjas and stuff from anime? You obviously didn't quit when Indy came out.
It seems as though Neca/kids has all kinds of things to get around to make Clix from other properties or they would have made Turtles a long time ago. Some properties are apparently easier to deal with in terms of legal issues. If they can do it. I say do it.
Because of legal crap, there is no falling domino timeline of Clix. "A" will not certainly lead to "B" and "Y" will not lead to My Little Pony, and MegaMan may not even be in the timeline anywhere.
But I am pretty damn sure that no matter what property you come up with, I can find an existing character in Marvel or DC with basically the same power set/story/attitude.
I imagine part of the reason not to clix certain properties is the cost/profit ratio. Licensing is expensive. If the product is not highly marketable, then they won't bother. (See Indyclix)

I am thinking that is why Gears of War clixs only has 10 figures in it. It could easily have 24 at least not including any giant sized figures but I think Wizkids needs to see how it goes sale wise, which I hope is fairly well. The dials are going to be pretty good plus it will open up opportunities for other things similar to it. Things like other games, movies, smaller indy sets...
