Look at Batman beyond from BTAS and compare that to Mach X. Bull####.
Look at Beetle and compare that to Mach X (because that's definitely what WizKids did).
Mach X has definite advantages in attack powers and damage reduction. But Beetle is faster, and defends himself better with Stealth and Senses. Beetle even has a HIGHER attack value, provided you follow his team-building restrictions.
It's easy to get distracted by later clicks, but there seems to be a new mindset with the designers that we need to adapt to: if dials are visible, characters can't afford to have 'bad clicks' hidden in them. In a typical game, how many of a figure's clicks do you actually see? The 1st of course, and then the 3rd? 4th? 5th? Then a KO? A 6 click dial really only plays half those clicks, so if Mach X has 6 good clicks and Batman Beyond has 3- but they're well placed- they function the same. EXCEPT against Perplex/CCE/RCE with visible dials. Which, I suspect, is the REAL culprit behind this steep efficiency escalation.
I also want to note an important distinction: I do not LIKE this trend, I simply do not see it as game breaking.

Thats not really fair, you are comparing a Super Rare from the latest set to a common from over a year ago.
I dont mind the supers being a bit better than the commons since they are only usually 12-15 bucks on secondary market. The chases is what really gets me, most going in the $60-$70 range and being SO much better than anything else in the set. This game would be a lot more balanced if they just got rid of chases entirely.
I guess thats what sells product though.
a 75pt piece shouldn't be blatantly superior to a 100pt piece regardless of rarity.
rarity should have no affect on point value. that's garbage

and as I predicted, DoC was going to affect dial-design whether we decided to ignore the stupid rule or not
seriously, like is there any benefit to him NOT using his free colossal ability? cos i can't rly think of any.
There is arguable benefit.
He can still hide behind other Giants. He could not if he were colossal.
He can be carried by Colossals and Flying Giants. And he could not if he were colossal.
That's about all I got unless there are specific figures with abilities that differentiate between and .
You could also argue that if they just gave him the 12 attack, then due to the rule of 3 his stats have more potential. He could be a 15/8.
Also the +1/+1 is susceptible to stat modification limiters like Mr Terrific, Outsiders, and Nighthawk Prime.
I still think it's ridiculous for a 50 point figure to have those stats, or the weird trait trying to make it seem like he doesn't, but what can ya do. The game has been squeezing down into 50 point figures who do everything and more that the big guys do. He has about the same close offensive power as 200 point juggernaut.
Do you believe Ultron could defeat 300pt Doom or come close?
Ultron has a chance, but it will be an uphill battle. Doom's stop clix have some nasty power behind them, but Ultron's marker has some surprises too. Doom's double outwit is had to predict and his trait that can give him PROTECTED: mind control, outwit is powerful, but relies on rolls...the match comes down to rolls as most clix games do, but I can see Ultron pulling off a win under the right circumstances...just not as often as Doom.
Wanna trade? Check out my H/W list -------------------------V
Look at that Ultron and compare him to 300 points dr Doom...
I am. Not even close, Doom's still got the edge over Ultron. Ultron is, much like the set, all aggro. He shoots and kills with high stats, but he lacks a lot of the counter-options that Doom is Gonna have. Just look at their STOP clicks. Ultron lands on Regen/Imperv/Sidestep with a 13/4. Doom lands on 11/4, but with RS/PW/PC and whatever defense skill he could possibly want. And unlike Ultron, whose STOP clicks you're likely to hop from one to the next, Doom is GOING to hit other parts of his dial (which are each great dials) before landing on his next STOP. In a 1 on 1 scenario, Doom has to be hit 7 times vs Ultron who will need about 5. And yeah that 14/4 is impressive. That 11/3 on his second STOP click though? Not so much, and it drops further from there.
You're complaining about him not being as good as you think he should be? You literally said "Indom would have made him more satisfying" and i'm quoting you.
Or spending a lot of time evaluating every single dial and collecting data.
Like for a Primer or something.
lol just because you write a primer doesn't make what wizkids is doing bunk. I've been playing since this started homie. I just find it funny people try to argue the fact this game is not going towards the creep more and more. It's catering towards the tournaments.
That is damned solid, and it may be my favorite modern age Captain America
For my money, I think I prefer the FF Captain America - 10 less points for more consistent reducers and much better offensive capability with his one-two punch special. This Cap is certainly better on an Avengers team, and if you are playing 400+ points and can get the full value out of Assembled Avengers he is a nasty piece, but mostly he seems set to "do this all day" with those sky-high defenses, opening Impervious, and then Living Legend.

For real? Picking that Mach X is more practical then picking that Beyond IF you want to win a game. Plain and simple. Save 25 points and pretty much get the same piece.
