waaagh1 that dial is broken you can have a fig with 10 attack and 5 damage upfront now if he got that say 3-4 clicks in it would be fine. Maybe start him at a 9/17 for 3 with cce if you really want him able to deal 5.
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.

Since I am pretty sure this issue will raise its head, given the recent article re: Starro, stealth and Batman TA...

This is a fairly new interpretation of the TA, do not expect every judge to get it right particularly since the wording in the FAQ has not yet been updated to reflect the correct ruling.
If you look closely at the recent FAQ you will see that the Stealth Entry is not in RED. This is an indication that this entry was not editted since the last FAQ.
The ruling we got back from Norm since the FAQ was posted is that the Batman TA just like the CSA TA can opt to use or not the stealth power on a case by case basis without turning the Batman TA off.
Its an intricate understanding of the words "use" and "may." Some judges will get it right and some will not. Either way your local judge has the final say, so ask first to be sure.
From NBPerp....

Batman Ally (and other team abilities are worded similarly) indicate that the figure can use Stealth. This is an option for the character who is using their team ability. They can opt not to use Stealth for one action and then use it for another. This is different from a figure who actually possesses Stealth, who would need to choose to use the ability or cancel it in order to not be hidden.
This may seem unfair. (What about Batman is though? )
But according to the judges, you need to turn off stealth for your stealth figures to use PC prior to rolling, you do not need to do so for Batman...
Until its official in the FAQ I don't think its umm official.
However its up to the judges.
Its sounds stupid to me but if it makes Batman brokener.... I mean cooler then all hail the rules arb
BTW this stupid ruleing is brought to you by the same person who ruled that Theme teams ignore BFCs so remember to bring your faq when playing Theme oh and the lette C.

Well, I dont have access to the judges forum.
As it was explained to me though, one of the "requirements" of being a judge is to visit that forum and be up on its rulings, since compiling FAQ's takes longer and cant always be done prior to an event (i.e. starro).
That said, yes, it makes batman better (and I thought that was not possible...)
hmm, looking at the new FAQ, the current PAC and the current rules I don't see how Batman can cancel his TA in the middle of an action, first of all someone needs to read their rules:
LoSH, p13: If your character's power is optional, it is assumed to be in effect during an action unless you cancel it at the beginning of that action. All special powers are optional. When a power is cancelled, it is cancelled until the end of that turn and resumes effect at the beginning of the next players turn.
LoSH, p15: All Team Abilities are optional and may be cancelled. If a team ability is not cancelled at the beginning of an action, it is in effect during the action.
SO if a player with Bats declares an attack, he has to declare that he is cancelling his TA so he can benefit from the PC roll if he misses, otherwise if he didn't declare it at the beginning of the action then he is SOL.

if you read this then you lost 10 seconds you'll never get back.

As far as I can recall, this (above) is how every judge has ruled during a game in Vegas during the past two years.
From the Envoy Forum, I found this under a thread entitled "Batman TA":
"There is a difference between possess and use. A power that is possessed is always on unless cancelled. While a power that a character can use is optional from action to action. In other words a power that can be used but is not possessed can be opted to not be used at the beginning of an action and still be able use it later in the turn. All the powers from a TA are use powers and are not actually possessed by characters. Most powers from special powers are also not possessed powers. This is the big difference between possessing stealth (e.g. Bucky) and being able to use stealth from the Batman TA (eg. Batman).
This all came about from a previous ruling dealing with wildcards and the fact that they use other TAs and not possess them, and the question was raised as to whether a character could just opt not to use a TA as opposed to cancelling their TA. The ruling was they could opt to not use a TA and now that has been generalized to the new rulebook with concern to powers that are used and not possessed.
As far as outwitting, you can only outwit possessed powers as indicated in the PAC."
Irregardless no action, power, or ability should be able to be turned off in the middle of another action. This is a basic mechanic that should never change, if the judges see fit to allow TA's to be turned on/off from action to action, fine. But it should be stated at the beginning of the action, if not, oh well....

Well, he can CHOOSE whether to use stealth. It's a TA, not a power...

What about a character that can USE superstrength?? Can he turn it off/on??

That quote seems to say yes...
I think this is where you are going Charles...?
Yes, Big Barda & Mr. Miracle, Hulkbuster AND Mimic CAN CANCEL Green Lantern 796, Weapons as big as the fight and Mimicry-Respectively (thereby cancelling Super Strength and droping said object). This was talked about on the BB & MM thread.
Cool!!! Diamond Donors CAN add thumbnails!!! Just trying it out! For those that haven't seen him, this is Hulkbuster. The ONLY M&M SR previewed so far!
