All of the ogres should at least give Mafia a shot at some point. If there's enough interested, I would even run another beginner's game in a week or so (since I seem to be becoming accustomed to running two games at once).

Been there, man. See my discussions regarding cross compatibility, which often unfold the same way.
Oh, no! Another Thrumble Funk rant about cross-compatibility!
Honestly, I don't know that I've even seen any of those. I can only hope you're on the sane side of it, seeing that 100% compatibility makes them more salable, as some of us will add pieces we can bring into a Heroclix game for a scenario or as stand-ins - and not let fears of Gandalf taking out Batman over-ride everything else.

I'll do a beginners game.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?

Long n' short of it:
1. I'm not a fan of cross compatibility in general, as I feel that it is fixing what ain't broke. I got in to Clix (and gaming in general) for the superheroes, and that's what will keep me here. Plus, I fear that it will lead to game dilution.
Basically, I feel like right now we're moving toward MUGEN/GURPS the CMG, and that really doesn't interest me much, if at all.
I guess I just want to keep the superhero theme intact if possible, so that not every game is some kind of mash-up.
2. While I get why people dig stand-ins, I've never been a generic alien or soldier fan. I'm more of a Howling Commandos/Skrulls/Dominators fan, as they are in keeping with the source material I enjoy.
3. All that said, I'm sure all it'll take to win me over is a set with a theme I find engaging. Venture Bros., for example? Ain't NO WAY I'd pass up the opportunity to run SPHINX or OSI!

I really, really, really wish there was a real-life situation where I could tell a large group of people, "YOU ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO SPEAK THE WORDS TO LIONEL RICHIE'S SONG, HELLO, AS YOU ARE INTIMIDATING PEOPLE."

I'd prefer to have solid clix versions of Marvel/DC, etc characters, compete with comics-derived generics, too. My point is that when I looked at Horrorclix it was with the hope that this would be a supply of supernatural/extra-dimensional/extra-terrestrial creatures to bring into a Heroclix game. "80% compatibility" was, at best, a joke. Making a hopeful leap, I bought the Horrorclix starter and a brick of the first set. After a few attempts (where I needed to stick to cluttered, indoor maps and play the Horrorclix pieces more in accordance with their own rules in order to make it remotely fair) they all went back into a shoebox and have stayed there for years.
Some argued that each game should be its own and have its own flavor, and with some creativity they still can, but the dials and powers can still be compatible.
I'm not looking for other games, so it doesn't matter how wonderful Horrorclix or Halo may have been, I wasn't going to be buying into them unless I thought I could import them as stand-ins or generic hordes in a Heroclix scenario.
I don't play in tournaments, so fear of Gandalf, Buffy or Master Chief suddenly becoming Meta-game borken, go-to pieces on teams for the prize-oriented gamer aren't part of my world. (And, to be honest, as someone who is repelled by an LE-prize-driven tournament scene anything that will upset those people pleases some dark and petty part of me.)
Anyway, if venues don't want... miscegenation, they have total control over that, just as they do now if they want to be tyrants about Feats, highlander rules, etc. If Wizkids wants maximum sales potential for any new properties introduced as Heroclix, compatible dials are a must.
