Why do I think Tyro is a day cop that is paranoid....or insane?

Well clearly you can dispute it, you're disputing it right now with this argument that "if it's too good to be true..." But that does make it all the more likely that Tyro is a jester or a paranoid/insane cop I suppose.

I am disputing not the use of the power, but the power itself being in the game and Tyro taking us for a ride.

We're on the same page MSU, I shoulda finished the thought. I meant to say that if it's true good to be true, then it probably shouldn't be here, which is the argument against it even being here. But I don't think Tyro is taking us for a ride. If he is purposefully lying he has to be a jester and if so we can just Vig kill him or ignore him the rest of the game if necessary. He seems pretty convinced even for Tyro; he's usually a goofball, but he's being pretty serious about it. Maybe that's a sure shot sign that he's lying?
