I feel I should point out that Giganto was my #1 colossal want from this set. In fact, if Giganto wasn't in the SBs, I wouldn't have purchased my case at all. I only bought by the case because I was fairly confident I would either pull a Giganto or another colossal I could trade for him. If he wasn't in the mix, I would have bought 10 regular boosters off the rack, a couple more for sealed events, and just singles from there.
As it is, he sucked me in. I pulled Galactus and Watcher/Dormammu in my case. I've since fallen in love with all three of them, so after trading my Dormammu for a Giganto on case opening night, I turned around and made another trade for another Dormammu. I'm very happy with those 4 colossals, and am actually looking to get a second Giganto. If Giganto wasn't in the set, I don't think I'd have made any effort to get any of the colossals. Another cosmic colossal wouldn't have swayed me. WK knows what they are doing.
ok to put it another way it seems like giganto is the least powerful dial wise.
He's playable but compared to the others just seems like more bang for the buck. Even dormamu comes with watcher to offset.
I'm still surprised they were able to fit giganto on a 2x2 seems he could been 3x6
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.
Oh that would be hilariously awesome...
"Excuse me, are you opening those boxes without buying them?"
"None of your business."
"I hope you're not intending to shark a few of those items for profit."
"None of your business, and what if I..."
*BANG*

Yeah, I get that. It's the same reason that SRs and Chases that cost more points tend to go for higher prices than ones that cost fewer points (unless the dial is just an utter waste of points).
However, I think that including "more of the same" would have been a mistake. Giganto was a good call for the same reason that the Frost Giants were a good call in GSX - market segmentation. Some of us would rather have a character that is a Kirby classic on a dial that fits well into teams from 300 - 600 points than yet another uber-powerful cosmic character. Including one out of 6 colossals to fill this market niche is just smart marketing. It certainly worked on me. I would have literally spent hundreds less on the GG set if Giganto wasn't in there. He was my "gateway colossal".
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash

I actually liked the frost giants.
Maybe they should have made giganto similar where like his 400 version is giganto and the others generic mole monsters or something? There are other mole monsters right?

Yes, there are other Mole Monsters. That's why I want another one. They'll be "generic Mole Monsters" when I use them!

Found a Target store where all the Avengers boxes left had been opened - maybe 10-15 boxes total. Whoever did it tried to make less noticeable by going thru the bottom where the tape is and then re-sticking the tape back on. Your could still tell it had been opened if you look closely because there was some obvious residue and sloppiness. But sadly, the average kid or even inexperienced HC player may not notice if they don't check the bottom. I thought about mentioning it to an employee there, but I know they don't care about these things - they don't care when $15 action figures get swapped, so I doubt I could sell them on a $3 figure.
As long as you do not destroy the packaging!!!!! Heck, it is box with tape on it you can easily and neatly take a look. Or just buy the ole lot, walk out to the car, go through them get what you want, and as long as you once again do not destroy the packaging when opening take them back in and get your money back. It's about the one time we get to take a look and know what we are buying before buying it with clix. With as much money as we spend on Heroclix a little cherry-picking this once in a great moon is probably not going to kill anyone.
I was at two Targets today in two different cities (I was traveling) and all the packs had the tape on the top cut open and then they were re-taped shut with scotch tape, you could tell because the tape came off easily unlike the normal packaging tape. I was pissed because I thought they were unopened. This points to an employee of the distributor or Target that was opening packs before they even got onto the shelf. I doubt THAT is allowed anywhere in Wizkid's or Target's policies.
But I still bought ten packs and got 8 of the common figs. The only dupes were Thor (trade bait) and Skrull Infiltrator (gotta love mutiple generics). didn't get Hulk or Heimdall.
So I'm pissed about the fraud, but happy at what I pulled. I guess it washes out.

The same thing has been reported at other Targets. My GF was the same way, and all the packs were there, and I still got my Loki. I don't think it's fraud...I suspect there was a packaging problem that had to be resolved by opening up the packs for some reason. It does look funny, but there doesn't seem to be any funny business going on.

I wonder if the HCO codes were an afterthought, or over-looked and corrected?
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

That seems like a valid theory.

Went to Target on the 18th this week to pick up a couple only to find 3 left. One had the top complete ripped off, the second had half of it ripped off, and the third was popped so far open it would be impossible not to see what was inside.
For the curious, two were Tony Stark and the other was Nick Fury. I didn't buy any and after a while I discovered that I would have been happy pulling either of those two figures if it was an honest blind booster. But seeing them destroyed like that just felt disgusting.

You couldn't be more wrong Giganto is FRIGHTENINGLY powerful especially in golden age where he can use Submerged & Armor Piercing. In high point games with a few Mole Men he can Phase/Teleport 4 times and quake 4 times to decimate support figs then focus on the heavy hitters with charge, Super Strength, and EXPLOIT
Ok, here's a question... let's assume that I only want, say Iron Man, and have no interest in Loki - even knowing he's a chase. How offensive would people consider that?.
I guess I'm trying to gauge if the outrage is over the potential neckbeard practice of cherrypicking chases to resell at a profit, or just the general idea of bypassing the blind booster thing? Also assuming no destruction of packaging in the process.
And as a disclaimer, no I have not done this, just a theoretical question.
