I'm psyched for this one. It's again better than I was expecting, particularly on the offense. They have way more upgrades than you'll ever want to actually put on such fragile ships, of course, but a pair of these with Phaser Strike will be pretty nasty, especially backed up by Kira in the Akorem giving them free Target Locks.

Borg Tactical Cube is also now up. Started a thread in news to discuss the Cibe and the Interceptor.
Hey everyone, remember way back when Hair10 said that the best thing about XW over AW is the fact you can walk into a store an buy any of the products they have right off the pegs and there would never be a secondary market?

Hmmmmmm seems secondary and not right off the shelf.
Yeah, there is a large, large difference between alternate art that is a prize and an exclusive ship/card that is a prize. You can get the Luke Skywalker card in the core, and Ten Nunb in the B-wing pack. FFG's prize support does not create a difference in player options (though in theory, you could possibly make the argument about slight differences in acrylic templates vs cardboard templates, but that is really reaching).
If there are prizes, then there will be a bit of a secondary market. The difference is I will laugh at those who pay $100 for translucent dice, but shake my head sadly at those who pay $50+ for a tournament only ship.

I think it is more sad that person wants to sell that card for $50, just alternate art or the Lando for $150 instead of the price for an alt ship because that is something different. This is a card that does nothing except look different that the one in the pack. Think about that. People are selling single bomb tokens for $10. I see no reason to be sad for those buying the LE ships because at least they have a bit more to do with it then sit it in a sleeve during a game.
The thought that there is a guy charging $150 for an alt Lando card stuns me, and what is more amazing is someone will do it too. Saying that because it isn't a ship it's just a copy of something we have already is much much worse. Think about it it is like the fools out there right now trying to get the 1st wave Constitution Enterprise card compared to the second wave. If it was something that gave you an option for something else it seems so much more worth it over "I got to make mine just look cool"
That said I have a couple extra Gold Squad Y wings I would trade for something else that I don't have. We have not done any events and I had a couple things left from the kit I was given to run at the Con.

I wonder if the Attack Fighters will be full fledged ships instead of Resources. It might be too much to hope for, but given that both of those can be acquired for less than the $15 MSRP, and can't have upgrades already, I'm willing to hold out hope that they'd have to do something different. This also gives me hope that maybe we'll see some of the other LE ships in the future. The Romulan Drone though is probably my highest want out of the lot. I'm interest to see how it will be represented (the Vidians too). Now, we need Shran and some Andorians to go with the Aenar pilot.

Why is this any different then you taking a prize kit and parting it out at top dollar? People are always going to try and scalp their little prizes for as much money as possible, and the poor saps who weren't able to win them are going to keep buying them.
And to Hair's original point, you CAN walk into a store and buy any of the playable pieces, the fact that there is alternative art cards floating around does not change that. For example he can walk into a store and buy Luke, Lando, etc at regular prices and play them. I can't however play a 100 point fleet of Tholian fighters unless I want to pay someone like you $125-$150 to do so. In that regard I think AW is light years behind XW.
I am just being difficult and I am faulting no one. Just being a Richard on purpose. But yes to play a viable fleet it would cost you on scalperbay Well over $125 for a couple ships.
But come see me and I can set you up :D
