Thorknigh83 – Vincent Crabb and Gregory Goyle (Town / Slytherin) [Doc]
You are Crabb and Goyle. Though everyone knows your first names, even your own house basically calls you Crabb and Goyle. You grew up knowing each other and Draco, but know Harry Potter was raised by Sirius Black, a notorious Auror who to this day vigilantly seeks evidence that your parents were death eaters. You don’t like him, and you don’t like how he buddies with Longbottom.
You are the doctor. While you do not intentionally help others, you are basically thugs that distract authority figures. Getting in trouble is so routine for you guys AND you are so noticeably “dimmer” than others, Professors are reluctant to give you any more detentions other than mild reprimands.
You are Draco Malfoy, the snide and snotty Slytherin, so proud of your wizarding blood. Despite this, you have grown up knowing Harry Potter, and have buddied up with him over the years, to the chagrin of your parents and his guardian. His guardian, Sirius Black has long hunted for evidence that your parents were active Death Eaters, and you have heard murmurings at home that seem to validate this theory.
Has Harry Potter been a good influence? It’s too early to tell—but now that you have him in your house, you can use this as an excuse to remain friends, and maybe persuade your parents that he might have more ambition than family connection?
You are the Tracker and the Vigilante. You are a bit of a snoop that keeps his nose into everything, and you are not afraid to tattle on your fellow students.
adamical – Weasleys! Fred and George … and Percy (Town / Gryffindor) [RB]
You are Weasleys, the thorn in Harry Potter’s side. Fred and George are famously anti-Slytherin, horrid pranksters, troublemakers, and Beaters for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. They take every moment they can to harass Harry Potter and the Slytherin House.
On the flip side, Percy Weasley cannot get away from following rules-rules-rules. Any time anyone gets out of line, he is quick to lecture them and interrupt any fun.
On even nights, you are Percy. On odd nights, you are Fred and George, but you are always Weasleys! Regardless of who you are, you are a role blocker. As Percy, you interrupt activities through lectures. As Fred and George, you play pranks.
KrisL – Hagrid (Town / Gryffindor) [Double Vote]
You are the groundskeeper Rubeus Hagrid. You have known both Neville Longbottom and Harry Potter since they were young, as you are still good friends with Sirius Black. You tend to blurt out information that you should not…over and over again.
You are not a professor at this point, just a groundskeeper. For some strange reason, you tend to not to give detention to students if they are making trouble, and seem to (at times) encourage Harry Potter, Neville, and their friends to meet you after curfew.
You are large, very large, and often people mistakenly count you twice. As such, you have a double vote. During the night phase, you have a neutral cloak – students view you suspiciously since you are a member of the faculty, and the professors know you don’t quite enforce the rules.
Ronald Weasley, Dean Thomas, and Seamus Finnigan are the male Gryffindor students the same year as Harry. They don’t like any Slytherin (Gryffindor students rarely do), and they are more buddy-buddy with each other than Neville…he is a bit too legendary, and is friendly with that Slytherin Seeker, Potter. Thomas, the Gryffindor Seeker especially dislikes Potter.
You don’t mind throwing out the occasional hex as a joke, and don’t mind getting into general mischief. As a night action, you may chose two players, they will be busdriven as you cause some general confusion.
You are Hermione Granger, the know-it-all mudblood (as Draco says). Harry Potter has a bit of a soft-spot for muggleborn wizards, but none of his Slytherin House does. You are fairly isolated. Your exceptional intelligence, your desire to prove yourself, and your know-it-all tone get you mocked by both Slytherins and Gryffindors alike.
Your one friend is Neville Longbottom, the Boy Who Lived. He is especially nice, and loves the fact that you aren’t enamored with him for being the legendary figure that defeated He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
You are incredibly booksmart. If anyone makes a claim, you can go research it for yourself. You are a lie detector. As a NIGHT ACTION, PM a post number, and you will find out whether that post is contextually factual, a lie, or technically correct. (ooooh, three distinctions)
Rokk_Krinn – The Boy Who Lived (Town / Gryffindor) [Reverse Tracker]
You are Neville Longbottom. When you were young, your parents were brutally attacked by a Death Eater called Bellatrix Lastrange. While your Grandmother was visiting your parents late in the hospital at Saint Mungos, He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named attacked and killed your parents and your Grandmother, along with a number of others present, and turned to kill you, but somehow you survived. The only mark on your body was a lightning scar on your forehead.
Since that time, and at Dumbledore’s insistence, you have moved around, living with various Order of the Phoenix Members. While Dumbledore is quite certain Lord Voldemort <shudder> is gone for good, he is worried about other Death Eaters that might attempt to kill The Boy Who Lived.
As a result, you have had nothing of a normal childhood, but you have been constantly around incredible role models: the single-minded Sirius Black and his driven ward, Harry Potter, Susan Bones, Mad-Eye, and others. They have been mindful to keep you humble, but it is hard not to soak in the praises and the public interest in The Boy Who Lived. It is all a bit exhausting, to be honest, but Remus Lupin in particular has been a bit of a father figure to you, and his plight has kept you well-grounded.
You were not particularly shocked to find Harry Potter in Slytherin, as he is highly ambitious and driven in his pursuit of medical magic. You are glad to see Harry Potter still takes great efforts to remain friends with you, which makes him a bit of an outcast with the Slytherins, but he his friendship with Malfoy has you worried…
You are highly suspicious of everyone, as the many Aurors and Order of the Phoenix members have drilled into over your short life. As a night action, you may reverse track one target, watching who is tailing who.
You are the moody Slytherin prefect Ravenway. You spend your free-time writing dark poetry about the Dark Lord that envisions him wrapping his arms around you, biting you in the neck and slowly draining you of your blood while you deeply sigh. You have affixed your favorite poem above the door to the girls dormitory, titled “My Immortal”. Also, notably, you have developed a magical method for applying make-up that cannot be seen by anyone over the age of 24. As such, you often wear dark black eye shadow, black lipstick, and a tiny trail of fake-blood.
You repeatedly ask your fellow Slytherins to call you Dark’ness Dementia, but only the younger students do, under the fear of your prefect powers.
You are an attention seeking diva who romanticizes the Death Eaters, the Dark Lord, and teenage angst, and you are certain that he was merely misunderstood. As a night action, you can magnet another player, forcing them to target you. While you will win with the town, you can additionally win early if you can manage to magnet the Dark Lord.
[hidden] Magenting the Dark Lord will cause her to win, but will also kill her. She was the only character that could 'die' in the game.
You are Albus Dumbledore, Professor and Headmaster of Hogwarts. Your titles and prestige are peerless. While you were immediately weary of Lord Voldemort’s return, you have since been convinced by Sirius Black that Lord Voldemort, as in Tom Riddle, has been killed for good. Being a superior intellect with considerable wisdom and know-how, you have wisely made arrangements for Neville Longbottom, The Boy Who Lived, to live with various members of the Order of the Phoenix.
EDIT: I actually made Sirius Black less convinced of Voldemort's death when I started to do write-ups.
While the Order of the Phoenix is all but disbanded, they remain lively life-long friends. Time has not worn away their bonds, as they have shared raising Neville (especially Remus Lupin, who Neville looks up to like a second father). You have made arrangements to house the Sorcerer’s Stone at Hogsworts while someone seems to be stalking it.
For a headmaster, you do not seem particularly bothered by student mischief so long as the students themselves are goodhearted. Even if it means breaking into restricted sections, facing down three-headed dogs, and getting attacked by flying keys…
You are a neutral survivor. If the staff put all the students in detention and manage to keep the Sorcerer’s stone safe, that is fine with you. If the students manage to break through all the defenses and get a hold of the Sorcerer’s Stone…well, kids will be kids.
You are an aloof Cop and Note Pass. So long as you have more posts than your target, you can cop them – however, each night you must cop something different. Name, power, alignment, or house. Each night you may also Notepass OR Notepass your result. You are aloof, however, and may not claim your results or character in the thread, outright or through hints, though you may claim power, alignment, and win condition if you so desire.
Grinner – Professor Quirrell (Neutral / Ravenclaw) [Nightkill + Separate MD]
You are Professor Quirrell, and Lord Voldemort! Though believed to be dead, you have parasitically latched yourself on to Professor Quirrell’s head in search of the Sorcerer’s Stone in search of a way to restore your bodyless existence. You also wish to kill Neville Longbottom if you get a chance.
As Quirrell, you are a bumbling instructor of the Dark Arts, so inept as to be comical. As Lord Voldemort, you are a ruthless spirit, eager to regain form. You win when everyone else is defeated, and you are able to steal the Sorcerer’s Stone.
As a night action, you may Misdirect one target (as Professor Quirrell) and injure/give detention (nightkill) to another (or the same) target as Lord Voldemort.
--Mafia Academia--
You are several professors (out of seven or eight, really) that are being used to guard the Sorcerer’s Stone. While your primary goal is to protect the children from putting themselves in danger (especially if they are out of bed past curfew…), you also want to find out who is trying to steal the stone.
EDIT -- of course, they didn't know about the 'muggle shell game', which was a story element rather than a functional piece of the game. Essentially, they were guarding an empty room with far less difficult puzzles.
You are Filius Flitwick, Professor of Charms. You have amazing aptitude for magically altering and controlling the animate and inanimate. You are easily underestimated, however, due to your diminutive nature.
You are eager to put students in detention when you find that they are out of bed late or in areas that they should know are off-limits. After all, it is for their own safety.
Students would be embarrassed if anyone knew that they got in trouble with the wee Professor. As such, the FIRST time you make a nightkill (which is simply detention), your target will be janitored, and you will know their name and house. The SECOND time you make a nightkill, you will not janitor your target, but you will learn their power.
If you do not take the nightkill, you may dazzle students with your incredible wisdom, knowledge, and charms, stealing a vote from your target.
You are Minerva McGonagall, Professor of Transfigurations. You are quite proud that Neville Longbottom is in your house, The Boy-Who-Lived, and you are an inactive member of the Order of the Phoenix. Practically, your duties are to relay messages to Professor Dumbledore and keep students safe.
As such, you are helping hide the Sorcerer’s Stone and care eager to keep students from harm. They can be overly curious but often reckless. Also, there is someone else out there that seems to be looking for it.
You are a Gryffindor to the core, meaning you are brace and direct, eager to get student where they need to be. The FIRST time you make a nightkill (give detention), you turn your target into a roleblock nexus. The SECOND time you make a nightkill (give detention), you become a 50% roleblock nexus.
Additionally, when you are not given the nightkill, you may give detailed instructions that will misdirect all but the best students.
You are the caretaker of Hogworts, Argus Filch. You are entirely unaware of the Soceror’s Stone. All you know is that there is a wing of the school that children should not be in. You delight in doling out detentions, getting students to scrub down statues, and generally getting the little bastards into all sorts of trouble.
You have a (nearly) unparalleled grasp of the secret passageways in Hogworts. As such, you can sneak about without anyone seeing you interact with the students, unless someone is following you specifically. You are entirely un-reverse trackable (but you track normally).
When you are assigned the kill, it is un-reverse trackable (of course), but otherwise vanilla. Be advised, however, that you really cannot do anything against the rest of the staff, so your nightkill will only hurt students.
When you are not assigned the kill, you may raise a ruckus and role block a player. This, too, will be un-reverse trackable.
Suppose you were wearing a suit that was red and purple (an awful combo), and your significant other asked through a door, "are you wearing a red suit?" Technically, yes. But it is also purple. So its not the full story, but its at least part of the way there.
My neutrals always go town friendly. In the future, I might create a distinct dichotomy where neutrals are either town friendly + mafia unfriendly v. mafia friendly + town unfriendly. OR make it a trichotomy with an additional everyone unfriendly.
I think that's just the nature of the beast. Early on they should be (or appear to be) protown so they don't get lynched. Down the line they can side with the mafia, or at least make it known they are no threat, so they don't get NKed.
