Rolland at cosmic comics every Saturday. He has a group of 3 people learning right now so if you get on it quick you won't be too far behind the other new players. Really that's the only place I've seen a judge take the time to teach people I'm pretty sure Patrick at avatar does too.
OK I'm personally insulted by this.... Who do you think taught Mike Taylor (and brought him into the game)? I also helped Risto as well
Why do you think I responded to the new player post?

Thanks for the link!
I live on the south side of Vegas, near the Southpoint.
I usually go LSoM for my hobby stuff (which is where I started my Heroclix collection actually) and recently I've been checking out the Maximum Comic stores as well. Is there a good place to go to learn how to play casually or would any of the stores work for that on tournament days?
I play (and teach...) at LSOM (just about) every wed at 6pm. Any wed you want to come by, I'll make sure I take time to help ya get started! Plus, I always give free goodies!

Who are you?

I wasn't trying to insult anyone just telling him where else to go he already said he goes to little shop why would I tell him to go to a place he already does? Grow up.
Hey all,
I'm a new player to Heroclix in Vegas and was wondering where you all play/meet at? I just got into the game a week ago and am still learning the rules and how to play properly. I was hoping to find a place where experienced players, such as yourselves, could help me learn the game.
Thanks.
If you already go to LSOM they play clix on wednesday.
Other then that...
Cosmic or Max 2 might be closer for you but all of the venues are pretty good about teaching new players.
Roland = Cosmic
Patrick = Avatar
These too have probably been playing heroclix the longest. But like I said any of the venues should be welcoming to new players.
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.

Next Saturday at Cosmic we are doing casual multiplayer games. Would be a great time for a new player to come by and learn. Can watch and learn, get some games in, or just meet the guys and check out the place.
I highly recommend new players who are able to travel to all of the venues at least once to get a feel for all the players and judges in town I recommend going twice just to see the whole player group but at the minimum once also all the venues offer different things to there players. Also of you are new then you shouldn't be limited by old drama which is why I encourage you to go to as many of the venues as possible and make your own choices not all venues work for everyone look at the tournament page and go from there in my many years of playing in this town I have seen judges not help anyone but I dont think we have that currently they are all good. The only bad choice I see here is not going to any of the venues. Welcome to the game and the thread

I don't know how you could take a newer player recommending a place with other new players as an insult or backstabbing. I didn't list all the places that made me feel unwelcome or anything. I could though to give them a good reason to be butthurt.
Players have been asking me to clarify some aspects of our CIYS so here is the clarified version of our event with our prizing out as well.
Avatar Comics Con In Your Store Event: 8/30, 7pm start.
500 pts Modern age Half constructed: 250 pts of your team will be constructed at home and 250 pts of your team will be constructed out of any heroclix product you purchase that day. No team bases will be allowed on either half of your build.
You must buy a minimum of 1 booster or 3 gravity feeds. If you choose to buy 3 boosters for your entrance you will receive a random construct at the end of the event. Otherwise only the top eight will get constructs. (So if you buy three booster packs and you make the top8, you'll receive two random constructs.) You must stay to the end of the event to receive any prizes.
All participants will be going home with something from our kit, which may include constructs, con LE's, or more than likely the marquee figures they gave us.
Prizing for this event goes as follows:
1st: pick of either vampire batman Or vampire wolverine, and a random construct.
2nd & 3rd: Pick from one figure from our large group of Convention exclusive Le's, and a random construct.
4th-8th: A random construct.
1) Reroll, outwit, and tK are a must
2) People are unoriginal
3) If you aint playing for fun you aint worth playing against the Master of Minis
