Was that directed at me? I feel like most confusion and frustration is directed at me as a matter of policy.
This feels like it should be in my signature.

There is a 40 posts per page option. Very useful.

That was a rhetorical question. There is no math on it. One way or another, it comes down to feels. Someone smarter than me can probably come up with a way.
Protip: you can keep me talking infinitely if you simply just keep asking me questions. I really should get in bed and go to sleep.
Rhetorical question maybe, but a lot deeper than you make it sound. The one who ignored you may be practised enough to know how to play something off so you buy it. The one nervously avoiding eye-contact may have heard the badmouthing in the bathroom and felt bad for you. The point is that there is an element of familiarity between players here. Couple that with different playstyles and we get players who know the right thing to say to someone else. We know how to lie to each other better than is typical.

But I don't think the act of asking is inherently scummy. Especially since (I assume) we're still unsure of what exact information is going to be helpful to scum or town. In the vanilla game, you asked the cop to list their Day 0 reveal at the top of their town reads. Since that player hadnt acted particularly townish, it was almost a death sentence to follow along, and misleading to not.
In this game, the particular hypothetical isn't extremely revealing, and the answers are easy to manipulate to fit what should/shouldn't be 'scummy' answers.
A better hypothetical could be:
If (since) a Day 1 lynch is likely, what is the best indicator for who should fall on that grenade?
Post count? (Large or small)
Post content? (Leading or misleading)
And:
Do we assume those applying pressure early are seeking answers as town or seeking cover as scum?
Granted, this is still day 0, so we haven't had any substantial pressure yet, but who do we expect to jump aboard when the game proper starts and who do we expect to let others steer the ship?
I remember that game. We made a royal wreck of things. I'll admit to being blinded because I thought a particular course we took was wrong and I let emotion cloud me. It also reinforces my point from above. Iceman knew what to say and had the lot of us fooled.
For D1, it's got to be post content as far as who to lynch if anyone and for me, the bar is probably higher in terms of what I would lynch for on D1 as opposed to others. I don't think anyone wants to fall on the grenade, but it very well may happen.

- Don't like Grizz's answer RE: oneshot. Nothing untrue in what he said, but a"non answer" on those type of hyptheticals never sits well with me. You don't have to be right, so put on the training helmet, use the Force, and pull the trigger on an answer.
Agreed on all points except the first. This isn't their first rodeo. And with multiple lives, knowing that they have another in their back pocket may be making them more aggressive than normal. Plus if the proboards this game are anything like last game, it's anonymous. You know character but not player. If any scummers this game want to verify, I'd appreciate it.

Basically takes out a huge component of scum stalling out a day. All it takes is more votes than anyone else as opposed to a majority. It means you've got to be here and defend yourself pretty vociferously if you want to stay around since there's very little of praying that a pressure train goes away or stalls out.
And snowing from this standpoint is basically what Fredwood described. I feel a lot of this discussion has been set up for some late game play. I understand the need for discussion but the incentive to say a lot, but still say nothing is relatively high.
Part of this might be because of the nature of Hybridity and its strong storytelling structure, but the whole Lamplighter thing, just as an example, looks a hell of a lot like fishing, both ways to be honest.
Boy it would've been nice to get this explanation from either BoyBlunder or Roy, though.
What are you still on about? All I said was that you had drawn my attention. I don't know what is so difficult to understand about that.
The write-up states that the Justice League are based out of The Loch. The Loch is one of the team affiliations that the game notes say will win when Nate Sineater is dead. You were seeming to lean towards the Justice League being a mafia. These things to don't seem to add up, so I'm looking at you funny. Could the Justice League be a mafia? It's possible, if Stranger got flexible with phrasing (You win when Sineater, and everyone else who isn't your faction, is dead). But you seemed like you were looking for confirmation of the JL being mafia, rather than thinking it was an outside the box option.
I'll tell you one thing. Getting passive aggressive isn't improving my opinion of you. Chill out.
The rules explicitly state Sineater is a threat while Walu, Dragon City, Morroscape, etc are town. Furthermore, the Justice League is bigger than known Sineater faction members and we know there is probably a traitor among them so that we don't autoconfirm the whole group. This all says "town."
So when you say "Jack, can you confirm this thing I already know by claiming Lamplighter?" it reads as "I want to know if Jack is Lamplighter cause I want to know if I should just nightkill him ASAP."
There are other reasons that could explain this behavior but it's a fair ping.
I have a suspicion that Dragon has a team of villians, but most of Dragon City and the rest is probably town.
Actually, the idea of the Justice League as a mafia isn't half bad. They're a team, teams get BTSC, people with BTSC are a mafia. They could be a town aligned mafia, but it wouldn't surprise me. We will probably find out tomorrow.

Sorry, that wasn't aimed at you or Roy at all. It's just annoying when I ask a question to somebody (in this case, you/Roy) and somebody else (in this case, Jack) jumps in and answers it. It robs me of my opportunity to get info/reads on the player(s) I want to get info/reads on.
Your answer here is along the lines of what I was interested in.

Couldn't that also imply that any of the other factions could also be having BTSC?
There are safeclaims in this game. And there exists plenty of room to bluff. I could give my character right now and no one would actually know if I'm telling the truth or if I'm bluffing.
There is a framework for the characters I use and as long as I use those parameters it's whatever.
2. Who else do you think is likely evil / opposed to your character?
1. I'd say for sure Sineater and Michael. Likely Skarn. The Anti-Dragon Animal Force Four or Five I could see either being with him or simply against the town/Justice League, making Sineater a SK/Duo/traditional Mafia.
2. The only character I know I'm opposed to is Nate Sineater. My role doesn't mention the Justice League so I don't know how they fit into the alignment scheme.
Another question is how many of the anti-town roles we expect to see are even in the game yet? Is Nate Sineater a character with 2 (or multiple) lives or a secondary character for somebody?
I'd bet that Michael is in the game already.
I'd bet the Justice League Traitor will be an NPC until 'activated' as somebody's secondary character.
I think for now it's fair to question the Justice League as a faction with BTSC and a Kill. The way the alignments are set up, it's possible they could 'win with the town' and just be an informed minority.
Gfish: The only read I've got here is purely meta, thinking, "I can probably name at least five or so games where gfish played a really good town game as not town. I've gotten burned way too many times to know who he is anymore."
Jack: I want to say I believe him, but hey, looked at who raised me and what he's saying.
Skullbro: I don't see why not answering a question makes him such a target! I mean, I didn't answer the questions! Am I in trouble now?
Grizzz: He seemed clear to me, but then I realized he's the one who organized this, and now I'm wondering if this is him being like, "How many people already know who I am? Better find out...but be sneaky with it!"
Roy: I could go either way with him, but I'm not sure I can put into words why.
Fredwood: Has he even posted anything that wasn't either a question about Hybridity rules or a funny comment? There are so many people here with no picture, I sometimes jumble up who says what in that regard...
Skullbro: I don't see why not answering a question makes him such a target! I mean, I didn't answer the questions! Am I in trouble now?
Except I answered the question. Gfish was just being Alex Trebekish about the form the answer took.
Also, Gangles is half Waluigi, so I'm guessing Anti-Gangles is half Luigi. Being green where Gangles is purple and all. This is assuming Waluigi is Luigi's Wario. My Nintendo lore is not strong.
Also, isn't a "town-aligned mafia" essentially just a mason team?
