Whenever I go to Walmart/Target/Hot-topic/Gamestop/wherverelse and they have those little Vinyl figures and I think they're cool, but they're super tiny and 6-10$ each for random! RANDOM! I'm like, "I'm not paying that!" And I don't... I don't. But they are still there. These companies keep producing them, and someone is buying them.
Wizkids has got to be thinking, "Why can't that be us?"
If someone is buying that other garbage and making it profitable, without possibly overpowered game implications for a somewhat popular game pushing it further, but just pure fanboy/nostalgia, then surely someone will buy these. I won't... I hope.
If they don't flounder, i love the idea of this encouraging a ucwf subtheme in a future marvel set. *Cough*bengrimm*cough*

They couldn't break it into two Fast Forces or Starters and save us all some cash? Each set comes with a ring map with different "map rules" depending on who is on your team...easy sell there.
Have a "Classic" and "New Age" FF/starter pack...yeah, you might not want all 6 figs, but you get your favorites and some others to slam around...and buying a Fast Forces/Starter as normal would be cheaper than buying 6 figs at $8 each. If there is a certain price they need to hit to make the license worth it...include the 3D boxing ring as a wrestling ring and give it new rules and map. This stuff makes itself...c'mon
That would be a much better model

I wouldn't expect NECA or Diamond to be offering discounts if you ordered more.
Packaging? Again, I expect them to come in a box for shelf display, and be packed in a case of 36 figures (2 of each). No inside info, it just seems like a manageable number.
The figure packages are probably large enough to accommodate a character card without folding, so imagine a box as tall, wide, and deep as a character card.
I envision the card front being displayed behind the figure in the box with a cellophane front so that you can see the actual figure rather than relying on the packaging alone to know who is inside.
I wouldn't count out Gargano or Ruby Riott, especially not Riott.
They are going to want to have a decent female representation here, I think.
There aren't too many "legends" that have that broad appeal on the women's side (no pun intended).
Chyna? Probably.
Beth Phoenix? Possibly, especially with her doing announcing work and seemingly preparing to come out of retirement for a match or three.
Paige seems like a reasonably safe bet.
After that? Maybe Miss Elizabeth makes it in as a support-type figure, but she was never a wrestler. Who else? The pickings start to get kind of slim. Alundra Blayze? Wendy Richter? Sensational Sherri? Surely not Mae Young or the Fabulous Moolah. Someone like Ivy or Molly Holly just doesn't have that appeal to newer fans and while older fans might remember, do they really care?
So I think that they will be drawing a lot from the current roster for the women, and I wouldn't bet against Riott.
While there are more recognizable "legends" among the men, there will also be more slots, and I expect them to make sure that plenty of current stars are in the set.
Gargano is more of a longshot than Riott to me, but I wouldn't rule him out completely at this point.
Andre the giant would be a need. Otherwise not personally a huge wrestling guy myself.
I'm curious why you would experiment with a new distribution model while also experimenting with a new license. Whether it bombs or takes off or anywhere in between how are you supposed to know whether or not it's a reaction to the license or the distribution model

I had done some editing and re-editing and left out Trish and Lita (I came back here specifically to edit them in), but I don't think that either Sable or Torrie Wilson ultimately measure up.
Maybe they make it, maybe not, but if I have to cut the entire history of the WWE roster down to 50, they aren't on my list.
Not if I am trying to make sure that I give current stars a fair shake, and I think that they will get more than a fair shake.

Oh, I'd forgotten Lita. Good call
There's folks that are *cough*Rousey*cough* that I'd never include if I was putting a list of only 50 together. But in a chat about the ladies, it'd be impossible not to factor sable at least. She was practically the only lady for a while, particularly entering the attitude era (easily the top 1 or 2 eras of rasslin).

I hope they get a fair shake. I could see New Day as a given, the Bar, and guys like McIntyre, Ziggler, Orton, Mysterio. ..but I’m the dope that will want to play as Zayn or Gargano, because I love their work ethic. With 50 slots, it’ll fill up ultra fast. Feel it’ll leave minimal slots for up and coming. And with the 8 dollar price point, it’ll likely bomb and we will never see them.
FROM SHOTS FIRED PODCAST Update on WWE clix from my local store manager attending GAMA. Figs will be sold individually in non-blind boosters with a 7.99 price tag. 18 figs in the first wave. They plan on doing a total of 50. If it does well, then they will release future waves of 10-12 figures.
What? So getting Andre and Savage will be impossible, and the junk will sit on shelves forever.

Also confirmed that GI Joe, Transformers, and Pony will NOT be clix. Only unpainted minis.

Well, I'm now no longer interested in Wizkids having those licenses. That news removed my interest. I now have the opposite of interest. I have negative interest. There is a sucking void where my interest previously was.
And $7.99 non-blind packs for the WWE-Clix? Who the hell thought that was good idea
Hence my "slim chance" comment "Slim chance" and "...isn't much of a chance" are 2 sides of the same coin
I said "isn't much of a chance." but really meant "no chance ". I just hate absolutes.....because to me there's always a chance....but honestly...not really....lol
I feel like in a set of 50 they're going to go for as many household names as possible while also trying to balance out the current Gen.
I mean in theory you could do a set of 50 of just the people who have held the championship. That's ignoring how do you do someone like Foley? (He would have been the perfect prime in a 5 figure booster set).
Given each wave is supposedly around 8-10. I'd assume 2-80's era guys. 2 Attitude Era. 4 Modern. Though you know they aren't going to give us all the Legends in wave one. We have Austin so we're not getting Rock right away. We have Savage so we're probably not going to get Hogan. I'm actually really surprised we're getting both Charlotte and Rhosey in the first wave.
I play Heroclix, Pathfinder, and retro video games on Twitch!
The Hasbro stuff being non-clix hurts like TNG getting relegated to 2 GFs. Seriously disappointed and bummed the F out.
AT LEAST they will be clix.
I don't mind Transformers not be clix because they would not had been on scale, even if could be good by themselves. BUT Gi Joe would had beel fully compatible with all others clixs.
I am at least buying Stone Cold and Macho Man and I am not even a wrestling fan. So this is false.

There are too many logistical issues with non-blind purchases anyways.
Name two.

If I had to bet fictional digital money, I'd say this will change before it releases. Will switch to blind sets and will be reduced to $4 each.
This product has been in planning for months. The boxes and packaging are already printed. Nothing is changing. If you are interested in betting any real money or bricks/cases on it let me know! I will lay you 2:1.
