I am going to have to work to get this Lance together. I know where I can get "Tekken" and "Ryu" and I already have "Rising Sun", But I have not even seen a "Lightfoot" yet.
Even with the smaller arc, I still think I prefer Lightfoot to Sabertooth - and yes, while Matt's skills (either card) are very potent, I've managed to pull Sychronocity off a couple of times now, and it feels just FAN-BLOOMIN'-TASTIC.
Thou shalt not count to four, unless as a means to continue onto five. Five shall be the number, and the number shall be... five. :)
Unless of course the number thou shalt count to is 450, in which case you had better find a number smaller than five or apply it in an entirely different manner. :)
Besides, we also have twos (binaries), threes (trinaries), sixes (the occasional cluster) and weirder numbers. Doctrine must never override operational necessity! :devious:
Whilst Star, Cluster and other designations exist, these were not the smallest units Clan units operated in. For pirate hunting smaller groups were known.
The Star organisation is as much a logistical as a tactical organisational unit. Occasionally individual Points operated separately.
For instance when hunting stravag mercenaries and committing a star to the task, would you keep all the warriors in one group and allow them to escape?
Has anyone tried using the SC Enyo strike tank in formation with success? Which SC or NC vehicle (Sekhmet, Cizin, DI Morgan, etc) makes good synergy with it?
Hail warriors! I return 2-1 at my local venue with my army, taking a bye in the third round! What follows is the battle report.
Battle 1:Republic Stravag.
My opponent took a pure-faction Republic force, with the Loki and Hellion, with much infantry support. I started off cracking the Loki from a drop after moving my Bishop from behind blocking, Pulsing it for four. I followed up with an attack from the Wendigo, and a miss by the Nova Cat. After some turns of cooling, I then shredded the Loki, and basically the game degenerated into clean-up phase after taking down the Hellion with the Nova Cat and TBAs. The infantry(3 Agernora, 3 Elemental) were particularly difficult to take down, but after the Nova Cat cracked them open with melee, the EBAs lost their resistance to energy(Though I mainly melee-d them). I took VC3 with a few minutes left in the game, scoring all three VCs.
Battle 2:Stravag usual(Versus Zxqueb)
My opponent fielded the following(I shall make mention so you can jugde for yourself what type of army this was...)
1 "Alpha" Mangonel
w/Steve F.
1 "Jack" (Thing...)
w/Julies
w/Beagle Active Probe
1 Gohsawk Unique
w/Sakhara Grad
w/Beagle Active Probe
Really nice army to play against, huh? Well, I started off the game unable to make a single roll to hit for the first twenty minutes, but half-way through the game I finally landed a hit by a Purifier Battle Armor(Zxqueb forgot the 2 :^^^: TBAs, so I had to mod slightly), which started to crack open "Jack". Wendigo then landed a hit on "Alpha", knocking it into uselessness(Somewhat, only 2 damage with 8 atk.), but after the entire loss of my army except Wendigo, I was in a tight spot. Needless to say he had lost "Jack" by then, so I charged an already damaged Goshawk for 4 more clicks, but failed to salvage it. I shutdown, took 2 clicks, restarted, and with less than a minute in the game, shot "Alpha" for three clicks, needing an EIGHT. Two clicks would put him into Salvage(And gotten me VC2, and won the game). I rolled....
a seven.
Third Round was a bye, so no need to talk there. Took home a vehicle and 2 infantry for extra prize support(I did not need any of the cards or mechs). The army proved itself, and despite everyone continuing to say Paschke is not as good as Steve or Amir. I have this to say. Worked just well enough for me, so stop blasting the guy! :)
Until later, fellow warriors. Next week is the same tournament(I believe, no different rules for the second storyline, quiaff?), so here is to hoping I fight as well as I did tonight for the glory of the Cat. Seylah.

Just to let you know... If you used DeJesus instead of Paschke... That "seven" would have been enough...
Just sayin'... ;)
Call me a spaced out mystic, but I HATE point inefficiencies. Since receiving Steve F. the only mech I would put Paschke in is "Blitz". Enlil Searcy gets even less respect. He costs just as much in "Copperhead" as DeJesus or Stark... And offers far less.
On a different note:
We all know the NC Bishop makes an excellent t-Bird dropper. What I would like to know is; Can it be used as an effective base/breaker/harrasser after it has delivered its cargo?
Has anyone used it as such?
This thought occurred to me after my previous tournement. In all 3 games, by Bishop did little more than drop off T-Birds, then get out of the way. A formation of ATVs handled most of the base/break duties. Should I have forsaken the ATVs and used the 42 points to upgrade my gearless mechs? That 42 points could have gotten me some much needed Armor Piercing... Or decoy for my Nova Cat.

Waitaminute... DeJesus fits onto Wendigo chassises? Did not know that Heavy Pilots could now go onto mediums :cheeky:

As I said, I will be trying to get Steve F., but this constant barrage of "GET THIS GUY, HE'S THIS SUPER-ULTRA RARE THAT EVERYONE WANTS BUT YOU CAN STILL GET HIM!" is not the most helpful of tips. Everyone needs to remember there are some of us here without A)A job, and B)Luck on pulling such things in boosters.

I used it primarily as a VC3 getter after dropping the TBA, or loading them back up after shooting for another run, to protect the TBA.
Uh, I hate to be the bearer of bad news Captain, but both Paschke and DeJesus are heavy pilots and you specified that you used Alpha when you attacked.
