I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.
[quote=Bubblehead]Sorry Justin. For some reason I replaced you with Tyler.
Mental error.[quote]
Not the last of I'm sure!
So far the intown winners are:
Dark Tower: Rolland
Oasis: Timmy
Sci-Fi Center: Tyler. This shouldn't really surprize anyone who's watched his "career". He did make it to the Sunday constructed at WWLA this year!
Kool's: Rolland
Hosehead's/LSOM: Tyler!!!
So congrats to all! And thanks for the Great attendance for this event.
Thank you for the games guys but I cannot participate in Approved Play any more, it saddens me that people play to win the prizes so they can shuffle them off on ebay. Rather than get upset about it anymore I'll eliminate the cause, have fun, and I hope that's the real reason why you play.

While I understand your frustration, thats kinda like saying the yankees already won 26 championships, so they should let the Indians win one since they havent in a while.
Most approved events are not so competitive anyways. With M&M coming up and some great free prizes, why skip those events??
I second the motion. While Roland made runs at 4 out of 5 Starros available in Las Vegas, he only managed to capture two. We all knew what Roland wanted to do with 4 and it had nothing to do with decorating his apartment or running all four in a single tournament. Don't know what Tyler will do with #2 - maybe give it to Austin? Again, congrats to Tyler for his win!
BTW, Austin, I applaud your coming out to play with such good cheer. If David had not received Fellowship for his continuing support of the Starro events for all five weeks, I would have awarded the Fellowship to you. I know what it means to come out week after week knowing you only have an outside chance of beating most of these guys.

Hope you change your mind...
I agree w/Squirecam.
It's simply this: These type of tournaments bring out the really good players. They're all gunning for these pieces because they are expensive, they don't want to pay for it, and/or want to sell it to make lots of money (or at least recoup what they've paid for in boosters during the 5 weeks???
It's Roland's perogative. It's the nature of the beast. But please do realize that everybody should relax in the competitiveness for the other prizes. At least here in L.A., everybody brings more fun teams. Play to win but show up with whatever tickles your fancy that week.
As a side note, if I fail to get Starro today I've already asked Roland to sell me one of his.
I want Starro. Out of all the big/collosal figs they've made, Starro is the only one I've actually wanted. So it's not all bad.
So im back and that means a bright light for those who are not the winning or vey compettive types you might be able to get a couple of good wins in again. Not all of those people who showed up this weekend just wannted to get starro, some of us just wantted to play and get reintroduced to the game which has changed a little in the last 6 months. There will always be those power players that just want to win it sucks but deal with it. I more than almost anybody know what its like to come and get the #### kicked out of them by every one there but it only make me a better player. i play to PLAY not to win and thats all it is you like the game so just play and dont worry about who you just lost to. IF you any fun at all then its worth it, and stop crying when you lose. You cant win all of them all the time so let it go. Congrats to those who won and i hope to see alll of you again soon

I dont think you should be upset by why other people play the game, just as long as you have fun that all that realy matters. Wining is fun and so is takeing home an LE but the game itself is fun to.
Its not like they are cheating to win or anything.
and keep your pants on I will update the first page wednesday.......
