i loved the movie. but im a big star wars fan.loved watching mace windu getting killed. count dooku? getting whacked was the best. did you see the look on his face when palpatine said kill him? priceless
Don,
Did you forget to sign up for a tourney on the 28th? I was going to try to sign up as the judge. There was no event there. Am I crazy and just skipped something in my head? What is going on?
Did everyone get a good look at the Invislbe Woman (R/E/V) and the sue storm LE? not a click of defend, just barrier and ESD.
The mr. fantastic R/E/V is also up. Kind of neat that he has enhance in between the perplex and the outwit, I don't think that it makes him all that useful. If you were to combine the FF ATA feat and the sue storm with her 19-barrier defense on the team it might be another story...but I doubt it. All versions do have a click of L/C followed by plasticity, which in theory could work well with pounce. Cover the distance, hit the opposing fig. for three and then get pushed onto plasticity so that they can't break away. More than likely after the pounce, the oppos. fig. will just clobber Mr. Fantastic instead of trying to break away.

Great Escape Comics & Games, Marietta GA, Friday June 3 2005, 7.30 pm: "Heroclix Chess"
For this tournament, you'll build 3 armies. The first is a 500-point army using whatever pieces you like. The second army is a 50-point army of pogs. The third army is an army of reinforcements. The cost of each reinforcement piece is equal or less than 10 times the cost of each pog. For example, if you include a 6-point Alfred in your pogs, you include a reinforcement of 60 or fewer points. If you include a 12-point Harvey Bullock in your pogs, you include a reinforcement of 120 or fewer points.
Pogs have no team abilities, even if printed, but each pog does have the power of free movement. They cannot, however, be flown, transported or TKed. On each map, there will be a number of special squares. If you can place a pog on a special square, you then replace the pog with the reinforcement.
That word, of course, is C.o.l.o.s.s.a.l., which, for some reason, is still filtered...
Bad news about T&T closing. That's two blows to north Dekalb/Gwinnett gamers in five months since Batty's closed... so all y'all should come play in Cobb!
I hope the new place is half as decent as T&T, even if the owner was a jerk to me once...

No defend but with the FF feat card TA she doesn't need it.
I'm glad the figure doesn't have defend, b/c it elevates the figure from the pigeon hole of its predecessor. I honestly expectd one of the figures to have a 19 def. w/invuln. or at least toughness. The inclusion of barrier is nice b/c now the force field feat can be added and the figure can have two powers on the Def. slot.

Does anyone know what kind of presence WK is planning at D*C? Is this going to be like the good 2003 show where they were giving out LEs like popcorn and a million games scheduled through the weekend, or like last year, where they basically had locals go above and beyond the call of duty?
Not that I need any more LEs in my bulging trade box, but I would like to know for certain I'm making the right financial decision doing this show...

I would just about wager money that it will be like last year. I do not expect much from WK as far as attending our little Sci-Fi festival. I will however go and get hammered like God intended.
Employee--"Rich Hall, Computer Assistance; may I help you?"
Customer--"Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect."
Employee--"What sort of trouble?"
Customer--"Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden, the
words went away."
Employee--"Went away?"
Customer--"They disappeared."
Employee--"Hmmm So what does your screen look like now?"
Customer--"Nothing."
Employee--"Nothing?"
Customer--"It's a blank; it won' t accept anything when I type."
Employee--"Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out?"
Customer--"How do I tell?"
Employee--"Can you see the 'C:' prompt on the screen?"
Customer--"What is a sea prompt?"
Employee--"Never mind, can you move your cursor around the screen?"
Customer--"There isn't any cursor; I told you, it won't accept
Anything I type."
Employee--"Does your monitor have a power indicator?"
Customer--"What's a monitor?"
Employee--"It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a
TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?"
Customer--"I don't know"
Employee--"Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where
the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?"
Customer--"Yes, I think so."
Employee--"Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's
plugged into the wall."
Customer--"Yes, it is."
Employee--"When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there
were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one?"
Customer--"No."
Employee--"Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and
find the other cable."
Customer--"Okay, here it is."
Employee--"Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely
into
the back of your computer."
Customer--"I can't reach."
Employee--"Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is?"
Customer--"No."
Employee--"Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way
over?"
Customer--"Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle, it's
because it's dark."
Employee--"Dark?"
Customer--"Yes - the office light is off, and the only light I have
is coming in from the window."
Employee--"Well, turn on the office light then"
Customer--"I can't."
Employee--"No? Why not?"
Customer--"Because there's a power failure."
Employee--"A power.......a power failure?.... Aha, Okay, we've got it
licked now.
Do you still have the boxes and manuals and the packing stuff your
computer came in?"
Customer--"Well, yes, I keep them in the closet."
Employee--"Good.. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up
just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you
bought it from".
Customer--"Really? Is it that bad?"
Employee--"Yes, I'm afraid it is."
Customer--"Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?"
Employee--"Tell them you're too stupid to own a computer...
400 pts. 4 actions, unrestricted. All figures must have the same team ability printed on their dials. If you choose to play the x-men team ability, you get an extra 100 pts. for your build total; (Total=500pts.) however, every other team ability (Ultimate X-men, Serpent Society, Morlocks, etc.) will get double points for each X-men figure that they KO.

Did everyone see the scans of the fantastic forces figs? Personally, I think the set lacks the sort of 'power house' feel of legacy but makes up for it with its wealth of characters that lend themselves more to theme and 'play for fun' type builds.

Nimrod is off the charts! Why is that good? Because remakes seem to be in style these days and it opens the door for characters such as Thanos, Surfer, Thor and others who should be in that point cost area.
Nimrod has the potential to be a very solid figure. It has no team ability and it doesn't fly, so all 264 pts when into the combat dial. Outwit is expensive and at 9 clicks I'm sure that is a fair chunk of points, so I'll reserve final statement on the figure until I see its dial.
