I keep going this route because it was where I immediately turned upon seeing that they were (IMHO, of course) wasting clix opportunities by making Marvel zombies. A major component of a zombie scenario is having allies be infected/turned, so I saw that an opportunity was missed by not simply setting up a Marvel Zombie Event Dial and being done with it.
Granted, the first four, which were chase items, made sense -- that's an almost ideal choice for such a thing -- and I understand that it gave them a chance to do themed sculpts (with those and the Iron Man, Giant Man, Spidey and Wolverine versions in Mutations and Monsters) but I still see them as half of a theme and a poor path to set off down. There are those who were pushing for official zombie versions of everyone who appeared in those stories. It seemed to be a sort of blindness -- unless they were just looking for the sculpts for display purposes.
I really liked Marvel Zombies. The first run was very good. After that, I was ok with Marvel Zombies 2 as it just expanded that story a bit. After that though, it was just milked wayyy too much for my tastes.
It's like Michael Jordan going to the YMCA to play basketball.

As far as the comics go, sure. It was mostly a one-note joke (with nuances here and there depending on the characters) that soon became old.
All I was commenting on earlier was the decision to make Clix versions of those characters, and how immediately they showed the limitations of trying to handle them that way. Without a contagion scenario that establishes a way for the living to become the hungry undead it's only halfway there.

It was one of the things that would have been a very cool event dial. Maybe even a dial similar to the Crisis Supergirl dial with a cool sculpt on top.

I'm just not a big fan of event dials. I've only ever played a few, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I found myself in work again this morning, and went from just moving a few small things along to accelerating a couple projects majorly. There's someone high up in the company who's being willfully ignorant of what's involved in a certain test procedure because he's too, too intent on trying to win the heart of a prospective client. He wanted - seemed to expect - something to be run and completed in a timeframe that utterly denies any knowledge of the test spec, and is likely finding it easier to see it as faulty management of lab operations by yours truly.
Anyway, while his initial fantasy expectations weren't going to happen, I have - by coming in and burning some hours today - moved up by at least two days the target date given him (via proxy) yesterday. Do I expect it will be appreciated? Not really. I'm mainly interested in pulling the rug out from under someone who may be looking to cast me in a bad light (more monster-mashed metaphors) and in better securing next Thursday as a day off.
Anyway, I've completed that work -- the rest of it can't be done until the samples have been underwater for several days.

Several of them -- maybe most of them -- were mostly someone's fun concept not well thought-through. The attempt to make them non-threatening to competitive gamers by making them something all players have to agree to use was understandable, but it forever set them as something outside the official game for a large block of players.
