Yeah, nothing like getting a bunch of plastic pucks that you have no intention of using and then having the price driven up per pack due to "Costs"
To be fair, as I recall they put them in as extras at the point when the booster price was going to go up no matter what. A dial, base and card is likely an almost negligible production cost item -- it's all the elements involved with the sculpts that are expensive.
Taking some more time in thinking through the mechanics of each one, though, would have been a good idea.
Knowing that many will squawk almost no matter what change is made, part of me wishes they'd made their use optional at the same level as Battlfield Conditions, just adding the stipulation that if both players were trying to use one the one who lost the initial roll-off (for map choice and first turn) would get to choose which one was used.
It would've given them a fairer chance to be tried out, and, honestly, almost anything that drops itching powder into the shorts of "serious" gamers who don't want anything getting in the way of their victory points and this week's prize is a-ok with me.
As far as I know, Marvel has put the kibosh on Wizkids making any more Marvel Zombie Heroclix. Which is too bad, considering how accurately they could be done now that Game Design has really let loose with Traits and Special powers.
"When Zombie Spider-Man causes an opposing character to take 3 or more damage from a close combat action, put an Infected token on their character card. At the beginning of each of your opponent's turns, any character marked with an Infected token is dealt one click of unavoidable damage. When a character with an Infected token is KO'd, remove them from the map, place a Zombie object token in the square they occupied and turn their dial to the first KO click. Other characters can't occupy the square with the Zombie object token. At the beginning of your turn, if a character is removed from the map this way, heal them of 1 damage. When that character has taken 3 clicks of healing, if the Zombie object token is still on the map, remove the token and place them in that square. This character is now a Zombie and is friendly to your force."
Might need some tweaks, but you get the idea.
Ultimately, though, it's still back to being a scenario. It has to be, as those infected have to be altered such that their behavior and some of their abilities are uniformly changed and will be passing on the same changes... so we're back to the only reason to do individual Marvel Zombie clix would be because someone wants to do the sculpt... or maybe to demonstrate a monstrous turn of mind.
Agreed. There has been some discussion, not about us specifically, but Typhon has expressed the need to keep threads to a strict 1000ish post limit.
I don't see the difference between one thread with 2,000 posts in it or two with 1,000 posts each in them, but if it makes the boss happy, then I guess that's cool. We're going to have approximately three threads every two weeks, but sure...why not.

Are we going to alter the restrictions on the Heroes this year? Since we'll have the Black Lanterns to contend with? Or will the Black Lanterns be subject to the same restrictions that the Heroes are? Namely, no HSS?
The Black Lanterns will be hosed as well. HSS will be inactive and a six range for everybody.
