I can't think of the name of the place, but that sunken sub comes to mind as a good place to gain exp. Keep in mind it has been seven years since I have played the game .
Anywho, would anyone be so kind to tell me a good place to gain exp in Final Fantasy VII? A
I can help you here.
1) The jungles around Mideel. Pretty good for AP, but not the best spot for materia-levelling.
2) The marshy, upper-left area of the Final Cave - look only for these two enemies: Magic Pots (you need elixers) and the Movers (easy exp and AP, but rare). You can either cheat (which you're kinda doing now) and make infinite copies of Elixers, or you can steal from the Master Tonberries (also located in the Final Cave.)
3) The best place to build your limit bar and find rare items: The Gelnika. I'd avoid focusing on levelling here, since the enemies are amazingly difficult.
The best place was in the carter were you found those magic jars, I just don't remember if you can just kill them or you had to do something else, it's been years since I was there last. I just started a game on the PC. Which brings me to a question, which FF7 is better, PC or PS1?
Thanks for the help. But how is asking for a good place to gain exp. cheating? I did the main game without any help really, except for the Golden Chocobo up until now, and I'm at the final crater part.

Well, I guess that's my poor word choice. Power-levelling kinda ruins RPGs for me...it's not fun when enemies can't damage you significantly...
Don't get me wrong, I don't rush through the game and barely survive every battle...but I do like a challenge.
Oh, I don't power level, I just want to get to a level where I can beat the game. My characters are only about level 60 as of now. Like in Final Fantasy 9, My highest level charcter was 56, the rest were in the 40 range.

Okay cool, if level 60 should do it, I'll give it a go. Also 9 was really fun, it was easy but I really enjoyed it. I went through and beat the final bosses over and over again.

Yeah, 60 is fine. I think I was low 50s when I beat it the first time.
I don't know what to think about 9. Story confused me, even after playing it again. And didn't like getting skills from weapons. Liked that it was all throwbackish graphics wise and the mini card game in that was fun to play.
My brother is the one who got everyone to 99 in that one. So he could cream the chocobo gardens thing.
Life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone.
I'm thinking about buying a PS2 when the PS3 comes out. Ton of must-play games: Kingdom Hearts, Disgaea, Wild Arms 4, Final Fantasy XII, even the craptacular Shining Tears...
