You gentlemen (I use that term loosely, I'm looking at you Jimbo) certainly are passionate about your clix.
Hey, Mike, were you looking at me when you used the "gentleman" term loosely or when you were talking about passion for clix?
I consider those among you that know the dials of WAY TOO MANY heroclix figures to be passionate about clix. And those that know exactly which combinations of characters to run from two sealed boosters because you have studied them in extreme detail. I hate when someone knows when NOT to attack me because if the attack is successful, I go from a 7-10-13-2 with charge, super senses and outwit to a 7-11-12-2 with BCF and Imperv. In that manner, I will never be among the most passionate in this game.
My passion for clix is the same as my passion for other things I collect. To wit, Batman and Detective comics nearly complete through 1970 and a large part of the 60s. I have nearly every Hallmark Kiddie Car ever manufactured. I have in excess of 500 Batman related collectibles. My Star Trek poster has nearly 150 autographs from the original series through Enterprise. I can't remember how many 12" and 3-3/4" GI Joes I have in storage and I think at least one of every number in NASCAR in 1:24 scale. I am a passionate collector, yes, but only a casual clixer.
I look forward any time to an opportunity to engage you in a game of clix. You challenge me and I enjoy our encounters. BTW, I am NOT an avid KWYK player, but the other night was a blast. Thanks.
Wanted to share something with you guys. Keep in mind that this is VERY SUBJECTIVE and is an opinion of the Team Vegas Hirerarchy. However there is some logical points here (or I wouldn't have posted it!)
DRPI Power Rankings:
1. Roland Wellington
2. Mike Aguello
3. Tyler V.
4. Tim Friedlieb
5. Jeff Ortega
6. Justin S.
7. Charles (Squirecam?)
8. Derek Iden
*Also receiving votes: Dave Williams
Here is some explainations and statements the voters
made.
1. Roland
#### it, it's my list. Of course I am #1.
2. Mike
Has a winning record vs everyone else on the list
ranked below him. Will play anyone, anywhere. 2 wins
in the Galactus tournaments. And has taken more figs
in KWYK from me than anyone else.
3. Tyler
Coming from nowhere in the minds of most to take 2
wins in the Starro toruneys. Both against the #1
player, me! Plus he qualified for the finals at WWLA
this year. When he's played in 2007, he has been
dominant and impressed the voters.
4. Tim
A breakthrough win to take one of the Starro toruneys.
Made it to 2 finals in the Galactus toruneys. Plus a
big win on the road in Chicago during one of the
Starro weeks. A player that shows a willingness to
travel and take on players from anywhere.
5. Jeff
Like in the golf ranking system, current ranking more
of a product of last year's success. Qualifing for
the finals of WWLA in '06 still carries alot of
weight. More wins against the top players last year
than this year. Transitioning to judge has cut his
playing time.
6. Justin
Solid player with a good record when he has the time
to play. Did not show much during the Galactus and
Starro events. Shows a willingness to travel on the
road and has wins and high finishes in AZ at Matt
Eskbrook's home venue. Taking him and Negative Steve
down several times over the past few years.
7. Charles
A rookie with alot of promise. Only had 4 loses
during the Starro championship weekend. All to the #1
player. Ahead of the learning curve for new players.
Will definatly be a threat to move up.
8. Derek
Yeah, he's my boy and has beaten everyone in Vegas
when he lived here. Given some love to my friend.
Won Starro, 2nd for Galactus, has won cons. And again
it is my list.
For those that don't know Dave Willams is Bubblehead (who has a friendly rivalry going on with Rolland) and he was #2 at WWLA this year (loosing to the 2 time champ!)
Derek is from Team Vegas before I joined. Have met both guys and both are cool in my book.
I like his points about Squire and Tyler. Extremely valid!
Say what you want Mikey, you ARE a VERY DIFFICULT PERSON TO GET ALONG WITH! So If anyone wants to listen to what you have to say, go ahead and waste your time. Menatime, GROW A PERSONALITY!
I get it. I rub you the wrong way. It's not a big secret. So we're not pals. Nothing to see here, move along.
"...chances are I don't like you."

You guys make me sick. Only 10 pages on the Starro events? pa-thet-ic!
I'm not sure where I stand on this. You gentlemen (I use that term loosely, I'm looking at you Jimbo) certainly are passionate about your clix.
I think it's unfortunate some of your feelings were rendered eschewed by the behavior of Team Vegas. I'm only going to address the older players as I feel the newer players, some of them long winded as they may be really don't have the proper perspective to weigh in. My apologies but speaking for myself personally, I don't care what you think. Your opinions are valid and you have the right to express them. Conversely, I have the right to ignore them. Put in your time, learn the game, the environment and local players and I'll start giving gravity to your concerns.
There is a tremendous amount of talent as of late in the Heroclix arena. The fruit of everyones hard work over dozens and dozens of games are starting to harvest. You gentlemen are good and I tip my hat to each of you individually. My congratulations to Roland, Timmy and especially Tyler for competing and winning these events. You guys are the best of the best. Having said that I don't think any of the players or envoys will collectively see eye to eye. That's a reality I'm fine with. I consider myself a casual player. Surprised? I don't at great expense try to complete every set. I don't pour over tomes of clixdom to find strategy. I rarely peruse these boards. I'd say in any given week I consciously spend less than an hour thinking about clix. In fact my greatest thrill (clix derived) is playing Keep What You Kill. Still think I'm not casual?
So what makes me above average? I don't know, luck perhaps? Inherent talent, maybe? It doesn't matter. I don't give much thought to it and neither should you. It just is and it is with Roland and it is with Timmy and so fourth and so on down the line. If you think that our play style is restrictive to new players entering the environment just think of how it will be once you start errecting new barriers.
If it were up to me Jimbo would win fellowship every week. Not because he isn't cut throat but because he's always been nothing but a perfect gentlemen and saint in relation to me? That's just it, in relation to me. I'm sure he's rubbed another player wrong at some point. In that dynamic comes the "Screw Fellowship" attitude. Once you have players competing for who is the nicest chap the willingness to evolve is lost. Worst still, I have to deal with insincere suck arses jockeying for who can suck the envoys pen-is the hardest and longest. Again fellowship is awarded purely due to relation to the envoy. This in my opinion is counter productive.
Flame away.
Mike. I've never had a problem with you, and you were very helpful in my first ever tournament/event (CoG). Since I read this over, and I don't really see it addressed, I'm asking you: Where do you stand on the 1 mega-prize per person. That's what kinda started this whole thing, that some people were really upset that others won more than 1 Starro during the recent event. The Team Vegas/fellowship slant started when Tim made post #1963 in this thread.

Keep in mind Wintremute that you are asking a guy who won TWO Galactus!!!

I know, I'm not asking because I'm assuming he'll take the side that I lean towards. I'm asking because I want to hear his opinion and reasons for that opinion.
And is it Galuctuses, or Galacti...or just 2 Galactus?
