I know lol. I was trying to convert it to the Reality he would be from if he was from the DC universe, a la Earth-2......they just happen to be identical names.

I do like to read comic book of Green Lantern on earth who fight all villains, so why stop being fight of earth villains.

Glad to see other folks are already talking about the real trump (couldn't post earlier, was traveling and phone connection spotty). But here's my story:

Hal is 'my' lantern. When I think 'Green Lantern', he is who I think of. Does that mean I don't like the others? No. Have I despised certain runs of each character? Oh, yes. Oh so very much yes. But it's not the character I don't like, it's the writer/editor who gets my ire depending on whether the story was more freely written or editorially mandated. Because the character didn't walk into the office and write themselves. The character didn't demand a new place, or insist on happening. In many respects, they are all products. And when the product sucks, you don't blame the product for existing, you blame the producer for making it.

The only reason I give two figs about Kyle as a character / in Heroclix is because he was on Morrison's (mostly) excellent JLA run, so if I'm trying to play a team from that era he's my go to. I actually liked how different his interactions as the new-guy set a very different dynamic for the team than Hal while STILL not really caring about Kyle per se. He just isn't my cup of tea, but I don't begrudge others preferring their tea their way.

What pissed me off was the final decisions surrounding Emerald Twilight (at the time), and thus the decision makers. I actually get MORE peeved about it now that there have been leaks about story proposals for where Emerald Twilight could have / was meant to lead. Somebody in the pipe-line royally screwed up something that could have been at least mediocre and turned it into something that only a genius-level retcon could repair.

Bad runs with Kyle in various books (as Ignatz said, nearly all of which are tied to the same writer, Marz) aren't Kyle's fault, they're DC's. Kyle didn't run in and ink Emerald twilight with twisted glee, knowing he would take Hal's place. Kyle didn't even exist as a concept when the decisions about Emerald Twilight were being made. There was only 'we need a younger character to fill the spot' with a complete lack of details. He didn't ask to be the new Forced Romantic Interest for various characters, or demand to be forcibly placed onto teams like the Titans. He was just the product, and in many cases himself the victim. People who aren't Marz have made him a product other people appreciate and I have no beef with, anymore so than any other character who acts like a meat-head IN CHARACTER rather than be handed the Idiot/Villain Ball(s) by the whims of one writer or editorial mandate. Direct your ire at the person(s) who actually made the bad things happen.

This same formula applies to basically every comic you will ever read, and every character there-in. It applies to every team-book that has multiple eras and writers, particularly in shared universes where editors hold the final say. It applies to books. It applies to movies. It extends to wherever fictional characters find outlet, from TV to radio. This is why, if I seem particularly hard on fellow Hal fans over other fans, it's not just because they engage in wrong-headed, counter-productive behavior that is troll-like, not fan-like in an extremely visible way unmatched by anything shy of the people who give Bronies a bad name at conventions.

How about actually reading my comment before opening your pie hole. I didn't declare I was passing on an LE because I think it sucks and I'm a smug bastard. I said I was passing on multiple events, IE more than one single event, because I don't want multiples of figures I don't care about. So, I participated in three each of OP1 & 2, and plan on making it 3 for OP3 next Sunday. But, OPs 4-6 will see me make a single trip each, except possibly getting multiple Boxing Glove Constructs because my Hal needs a Boxing Glove (whether it makes him better or not). I want the Constructs and Boosters, I guess I'm just smug for not wanting to drive thirty minutes out of my way and spend more money I don't have on a second Kyle or Jade figure that will likely collect dust.

Well let me see hmm.. i pulled dex starr, rankorr, kilowog, laria (prime) w/ axe black lantern animation, firestorm, hal jordan, munk, bleez, and abin sur.

Nice!! I want that Firestorm so bad, I can't believe I have to wait until next week. Plus you got another construct, so depending on whether or not you got a prime during wave 1 and bought the scenario pack, you could have a full battery now! Which color Hal did you get?

Played my first wave 2 yesterday. Pulled Dex-Starr, Fatality, x2 Red Guy Gardners, x2 Red Recruits, Saarek, Sodam Yat, Munk, and a controller. Played both recruits, both guys and fatality with battery and catapult/decoy/shield/crossbow for a full 500.

Went 2-1. Should have gone 0-3 as the first 2 games were extremely close. My dad gave me all his blacks and I gave him sodam and Saarek. Got me Firestorm, Aquaman and Black Reanimate. Then he finagled a deal to get his Hal/Sinestro that also got him Galius Zed which he gave to me as well. It's good to work out deals pre tournament, lol.
