O.K. I'll be gone next 3 days so 1 last guess. If I'm right and not here give it to the Petting Zoo.
I'm guessing that Norb means to let Wyld have this thread, just as Norb let CuCr have the Marvel trivia thread. Must mean tax time is coming soon and the three of them plan to write each other off as co-dependants.
Ambush Bug's enemies include a talking sock, the Lord of Apokolips, the Man of Steel, and a koala who walks like a man. Name any three by their proper given name.
--wyld
When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.
--Alan Moore, Twilight
Ignatz seizes control of the thread.
(I also would have accepted "Uxas" for the Lord of Apokolips, Clark Kent, and Dr. Quentin Qwantis.)
--argh!yle! is the only acceptable answer.
wyld

I mean, it might have, but in stories there was a recurring benefit in the plot, although attention was not brought to it. I suppose you could view it as an overused plot device.
Itty gave Hal the benefit of having someone to talk to, providing the benefit of being able to narrate his adventures without sounding like a complete lunatic.
--oh, too late.

I'm going to give it to CuCr. He *did* serve the function wyld mentions (and probably why he was created) but that's not a benefit to Hal, but to the writers.
No, Itty would often become agitated in the presence of danger or something weird. It was like Hal has a Spider-Sense for a while.
