Thanks, mate. I just think clixers should give a Yugioh player the same courtesy they afford any other newcomer to the game. It's up to the Yugioh fan, like any other player, to abide by acceptable social behavior or face the consequences.
All the hate/bias beyond that is just the same old nerd-vs-nerds stereotype that I hate seeing crop up. Don't like like an intellectual property or license? Fine. Don't like a fan of that license based on that fan's personality and behavior? Makes sense. Don't like someone based solely on the games they play or the fictional characters they enjoy? That's a very hostile, unfortunate approach to life.
NO! I refuse to offer common courtesy to ANYONE!! I am a veteran of Heroclix and I am set in my ways and newcomers from that skanky CARD GAME(!!!) would just ruin the entire playing environment. I don't need friends and that's good cuz I don't have any since I am so crotchety.
I used to be a Yugioh Player but 7 years ago. But now, if i go to my venue, to play clixs, i have to say that the most tourments are held for yugioh events, a little bit for pokemon and 1 or 2 at month for magic.
You really think Yugioh product sales would outstrip Magic, Pokemon, Heroclix, and assorted other properties/licenses combined, let alone individually? I have a doubt.
Well, to this date, i have seen more store that sell yugioh than stores that sells Pokemon, Heroclixs & Magic combined (and also boardgames).
I had 20 people at my Spiderman sealed event two weeks ago. Heroclix is a huge money maker at my venue. It is always in the top ten sales list posted in the alliance preview book, multiple times and usually taking up the first slot. Maybe your venue is doing it wrong.
My venue is doing it right, it moves a lot of money by having a lot of games (Yugi, Poke, Clixs, Magic...), centering in only heroclixs will be the ruin for it.

Dude, do you not know how to multi-quote? It's not hard. I know it's not against the rules on this site, but double/triple/quadruple posting is still annoying and unnecessary.
Man, this thread is a nice reality check for me. See, I played Yugioh for years. Loved the card game, loved the source material (moreso when the characters engaged in any game of chance rather than just the cards), and I still love watching Yugioh Abridged (funniest abridged channel on youtube right now). I had a group of friends who also played, and we loved the hell out of it. When out interest in the game died, I made the transition to another collectible strategy game: Heroclix. Sad to see that if I had mentioned my past love of Yugioh I would have been shunned by several players here. Love the open minded approach people are taking.
And before everyone cites examples of people cheating/causing problems amongst the Yugioh crowd, do I really need to remind folks how many threads we get on hcrealms about folks cheating (lots) or about folks getting unreasonable and violent (a few)? It's not like the fanbase for Heroclix is some spotless group of altruistic angels.
I say it's best to just wait and see which kind of Yugioh fans get attracted to your local Heroclix events. If they're relatively normal people, all well and good. If they have disruptive personalities, your judge should just handle it the way that he/she would with any other troublesome player.
On a more positive note, if we get monsters I hope we get Relinquished. I love that weird alien bug-looking design.
Repness!
My son (now 16) used to be a pretty hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh player. He had a respectable collection and used to make the rounds of the local tournament scene (much bigger than the local Heroclix scene or even Magic). I've played the game with him tons, have watched several seasons of the show, even took him and a bunch of his friends to see the movie (I fell asleep in the theatre). lol
So I asked him what he thought about it, he said, "If they make the monsters, that's cool. But if they just make a bunch of the whiny kids, then meh!".
The discussion then evolved into ...well, what powers would you give them? For example, which Yu-Gi-Oh monsters would you give Poison? or Blades/Claws/Fangs? or Pulse Wave? The problem is that Yu-Gi-Oh monsters don't actually fight. They either annihilate their opponent monster in a single, unstoppable attack, or they don't. So other than giving them a single, uber-awesome attack power called OBLITERATE, we couldn't think of any.
What's more, a lot of the Yu-Gi-Oh game play revolves around the element of surprise. Setting monsters in Defense Position, Traps, Flip Effects ...how would you translate all THAT into clix? And would you even want to?
I can see it now, Worldbreaker Hulk charging into an unknown monster hiding in Defense Position, and ...Oh, too bad Hulk, that was the 50 pt. Maneater Bug. Tough break, dude. You're dead.
"Some say the glass is half empty, some say it's half full. But I say ...are you going to drink that?"

Actually, after all these years, I don't even know how to do that.
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.

I'd be curious to know how many stores you frequent. Magic, board games, and Heroclix are all bigger than Yugioh, from what I can tell. Look at the top 25 games from January 2013 (as reported by Diamond):
1. MARVEL HEROCLIX AMAZING SPIDER-MAN
2. DC HEROCLIX: BATMAN BOOSTER BRICK
3. PATHFINDER BATTLES: SHATTERED STAR BOOSTER BRICK
4. STAR TREK TACTICS HEROCLIX SERIES II
5. DC HEROCLIX: BATMAN STREETS OFGOTHAM
6. THE WALKING DEAD COMIC BOARD GAME
7. STAR WARS LCG CORE SET
8. MAGIC THE GATHERING TCG: RETURN TO RAVNICA BOOSTERS
9. STAR TREK TACTICS HEROCLIX SERIES II STARTER SET
10. MARVEL HEROCLIX: WOLVERINE & THE X-MEN
11. MARVEL HEROCLIX WOLVERINE & X-MEN TAB APP PACK
12. TICKET TO RIDE
13. MARVEL HEROCLIX MARVEL SUPERHEROES TAB APP PACK
14. STAR TREK CATAN BOARD GAME
15. RISK LEGACY
16. DC HEROCLIX NO MANS LAND MONTH 3 OP KIT
17. MARVEL HEROCLIX AMAZING SPIDER-MAN TAB APP PACK
18. YU GI OH TCG COSMO BLAZER BOOSTER DIS
19. WONDERLAND BOARD GAME
20. DOCTOR WHO MONSTER INVASION EXTREME TCG BOOSTER DS
21. YU GI OH TCG 2012 COLLECTIBLE TIN CASE WAVE 2.5
22. TICKET TO RIDE EUROPE
23. DOCTOR WHO 50TH ANNIVERSARY ED MONOPOLY
24. SETTLERS OF CATAN NEW ED CITIES & KNIGHTS EXP
25. FUTURAMA COLLECTORS ED MONOPOLY
Look at this top 25 list. Heroclix hold 6 of the top 10 slots alone. From the 25:
10 are Heroclix Products.
1 is Magic the Gathering.
2 are Yugi-Oh (coming in at 18 and 21).
9 are board games.
3 are other tcg or miniature products.
And you think that Yugioh makes up 70% of games sales? Based on the numbers, probably not.

Its not fair to use the snapshot of a single month from a single distributor as a source for accurate sales information considering that some of those things released that month and would have inflated sales numbers because of that. Its better to use yearly reports from multiple distributors.
Don't forget that Diamond/Alliance is the ONLY distributor of Heroclix so the sales are skewed in Heroclix's favor.
Only when I talk, not when I write.
But seriously, that sentence was a joke, I even put a smile to make it more clear that I was not serious.

That. A big problem for me is that they force a lot of stuff into super-hero rules. How come the PAC for Star Trek ships have Blades/Claws/Fangs and Poison? Why does my Legolas have a power that is called "Phasing/Teleport"?
Some of those properties might be better games if they didn't have to follow rules for "compatibility". And many would make terrible clix (or at least, wouldn't make much sense as adaptations).

I more or less agree with you, but remember, you are looking at January sales, which was a big month for Heroclix, with Star Trek, ASM releasing, and SoG and Batman just a month or two old. MtG and YGO I do not believe had a recent release.
Also, Alliance/Diamond is the sole distributor of Clix. The amount of distributors for MtG alone is mind-boggling.
Rule of Acquisition #301 - Always keep them wanting more.
