So one of the most interesting entries into the Avengers in recent years was the Sentry. A powerful and confused man, he's pretty unique. The Sentry sand Void figure still scares even if they're a few years old. Replacing Psylocke can they break? 5. HSS to V14 attacking Hush. Needs 6, rolls 7. Hush is also koed. Ventry ends in Q13.

Even with Ventry on the map, I'm quite vulnerable next turn after three kos.

"That's right," Sentry says in a heroic pose.

"The power of great destruction," she replies. She pulls out her pistol but is easily taken down by his strength. He rushes high speed knocking Max off the roof and directly into Hush, felling them both.

"You should all considering surrendering while you have the chance. I may not offer this again," the Sentry says.

"We're not done," Robin says, "Not by a longshot."

Three replacements? Cripes. Okay, well as you predicted, big focus is gonna be on Ventry.

Morrison's JLA run made the team a big deal again in the early 2000s. Many old characters were re-used as is typical of comics. But one of the quirkier new characters from that run was Queen of Fables.

Much as I hated the death of Ted Kord, I have to say I grew to like his replacement pretty well, so the new Blue Beetle is replacement #2.

Finally, I've had so much focus on Batman and Superman characters, I've neglected Flash a bit. Many of his great Rogues are from the Silver Age, but new speedster Zoom (as opposed to Professor Zoom who is a different guy) hit in the 2000s as well. I'll do the AA version of this guy.

"A flawed hero, struggling against his darker urges. What a delicious character you'd make, but I prefer my heroes purer," Queen of Fables said, hitting Sentry with a powerful magical blast.

"I don't know what the heck you're talking about," Blue Beetle told the Queen, "but shooting the big Superman wannabe, seems like you've got the right idea." His scarab analyzed Sentry's physiology and calibrated the armor's weapons to get the best possible effect. It worked.

"You're making me angry. Don't, please don't," Sentry pleaded.

"You could just go on home," Starman suggested. "I don't think anyone here would try to stop you. No? Oh well," he shrugged, adding his firepower to the others'.

"That's the ticket, get distracted by the big yellow man. Pay no attention to the little guy with the gun," Rocket said, taking aim at Stargirl.

"Don't think we've forgotten you," Zoom said, smacking Rocket Raccoon at high speed, knocking him out cold.

Sentry rs to M10 attacking Stargirl. Needs 7, rolls 10. 4 to her.

Nico to heal, Needs 7, rolls 9. Heal is a dismal 2.

SW to O7, outwits Robin's cce.

Replacement time. It's hard to balance the needs of the game and the influence of a character at a certain time or storyline. I'm going with the latter for my next pick: Ms. Marvel. A muslim character set in a heroic light is pretty special and important. And hey, since I haven't picked Ms. M in any of her identities it seems right. She's up and sits back for now.

"It's Hawkeye from another world, not the guy you know. Spider-Woman is a Skrull and Sentry is embattled by his own demon, the Void. Hardly the ideal Avengers line-up," Nico tells her.

"And Ms. Marvel?" the newcomer asks.

"Sorry, not here."

Ms. Marvel pouts very briefly and then her shoulders puff up. "That's ok, if Allah wills it I will fight on her behalf."

Went a little crazy last turn so not too much to do here. Starman Perplexes Stargirl's AV to 10.

"No!" Robin shouted, offended at the suggestion. "Or well, maybe just a little," he added to himself as Spider-Woman evaded his attacks.

Funny that you should have mentioned two turns back the significance of depicting Muslims in a heroic light. The new Green Lantern, Simon Baz was on my list, for similar reasons. He will TK Blue Beetle to O10

"Big bad's getting away!" Blue Beetle complained.

"Want a helping hand?" Simon Baz asked, using his ring to create a giant crossbow.

"You know I do!" Blue Beetle said, climbing on. Green Lantern shot him from the crossbow like an arrow. He sailed over the battlefield, getting a bead on Sentry. "You're going down, man!" His weaponry still specifically adjusted to Sentry's weaknesses, he was able to take the Avenger out of the fight.

"Oh no you don't," Starman said, spying Hawkeye taking aim at Blue Beetle. He shot the archer with his cosmic rod.

"See, just by being here, I am making you better heroes," Zoom said, hitting Nico in passing.

"Your logic is so warped," Blue Beetle told him.

I had hopes for Ventry's survival. It's a reminder that if you don't protect good figures even they can be vulnerable.

Well it's finale time for me. My last choice was definite. I'll get to him in a minute. Second to last was tricky. It's a choice between whom I wanted to respect the history and whom would benefit me better in the game. Picked the latter.

In comes the Hood, an interesting baddie. Picking him more for his cheap mystics, although he's had a high profile in recent years. He attacks Zoom. Needs 7, rolls 7. Rerolls 8. 3 to Zoom.

And finally in comes Dr. Doom. A mastermind and benefactor of the current Secret Wars, it seems fitting that he should be here at the end. He replaces Ventry. He attacks Beetle. Needs 7, rolls 9. Beetle escapes with only a token this time (per his sp)but the token makes it a push. 1 to him.

"I am the Hood. Bringer of your defeat," the Hood says pinging Zoom with a hit.

Zoom turns and is then hit with a brilliant blast of energy. "I am Victor Von Doom. Next to me, you are a petty thug."

I suppose I can't fault you for bringing in a Mystic while I'm sitting on Queen of Fables.
