ALO is also good becuz if u have a 5 or 7 star monster in your hand the star is - 1 and you can summon the lvl 5 monster and only tribue one for the 7.
P.S.they banned tribe infecting visurs, and i want abyss soldier so bad!!!
Tell me about it. Abyss soldier is hard to get around here. I paid 4 bucks for one, 12 bucks for the other and I can't find a third. I found out one store has the PS2 game, but 60 bucks ?

Yes, several of these game promo's should be rereleased. E-hero Necroshade (can't even find him), Magician's circle (10 bucks a pop I payed them) and abyss soldier to start off with. Luckily we are already getting sebek's blessing in october and we got aqua chorus this summer.
And yeah, PS2 games are still expensive here. I could get the game for like 3 bucks at a garage sale, no doubt, but then I wouldn't have the cards.
Games are still well-wrapped and such here for $29.99 ($39.99 at some places). It won't surprise me if Abyss Soldier is a SE promo or in some reprinted Double Pack in the future like other cards have been (Dark Magician Knight and Knight's Title for 1 and D. D. Assailant, Emes the Infinity and Twinheaded Beast for 2)
still, the best cards right now for water decks are Treeborn and Hydrogedon. Levia is nice, but only if you can keep ALO out, and I forsee magic drain being run alot.
so i guess the question is, how can we make this competitive in this new environment?

Treeborn isn't even close to being of the best for WATER Decks to me, considering the amount of m/t that is usually accompanied with it...it'll usually, from my experience, just be another small WATER monster 80%+ of the time until your opponent uses a Giant Trunade or Heavy Storm.
As for making it "competitive"...first off...you shouldn't make the Deck so it's so reliant on things like A Legendary Ocean...like a lot of WATER Decks seem to make the mistake of doing...
HDI, what are these double packs ? I've never seen them here in Belgium and apparently those cards aren't on the site I frequently order from either.
I disagree with both of your for water decks. Treeborn certainly isn't the best, or a staple or anything, for a water deck. But I also don't think it goes to disuse 80% of the time. Even with 3 ALO and a terraforming I more often than not end up losing my ALO to an MST or heavy storm early on, leaving me without ALO for 3 or 4 turns. In which case its a nice surprise when they see me pull out a mobius (or now a bitelon :)) to keep them at bay. Another nice one is when you draw into a new ALO and you have levia in your hand. Get treeborn, then play ALO, then sac treeborn for levia and activate levia's effect.
There are times when treeborn goes to waste in water deck, but I still make sure I get him into the graveyard as fast as I can. Especially if I can discard him there for the cost of lightning vortex or abyss soldier's effect, or by the effect of dark world lightning.
And if you think you are close to a win, and you have no use for treeborn ? Let aqua spirit or fenrir munch on it. They love frog's legs ;)
I guess some places don't have them...should be available in normal stores (the first one anyways). Or could look online
I know the first one had a reprint of Dark Magician Knight and Knight's Title (The Sacred Cards and Reshef of Destruction)...the 2nd one (Destiny Board Traveler and, I think, Dungeon Dice Monsters) having D. D. Assailant, Emes the Infinity and Twinheaded Beast...
I guess it's just our strategy or something...I definitely tried out Frog in my WATER Deck...but it didn't seem to work out a lot of the time...only got its effect like...a couple times (and those times not really being good times)...so I've kept it sided instead
For me its always been either the frog, or another terraforming. And the frog has just always been more useful to me. He helps me when I need him :) I pulled him out of the very first SOI pack I got my hands on, when everyone was still begging to get their hands on one. I didn't use it for 3 whole months though, pretty much until I started using my water deck :) Funny thing is, for me its been the other way around : frog never did anything in any other deck. He was always somewhere at the bottom, never in my graveyard.
I just hope we get some nice special edition cards, or some good reprints in the new duelist packs or something. But somehow I doubt any of the one's we need will make the cut.
I guess we should be grateful with what we are getting for now anyway. Reprints of slate warrior, sebek's blessing and enemy controller are a good start. These were all cards that were too expensive to own more than one copy of on a sane budget if you don't have many people to trade with.
Let's hope so. I'd already be glad if UDE was smart about and just released the most wanted promo cards anew when they get the opportunity.
I love it when they reprint ultra's too, especially if I can make decks with 2 or 3 copies of them, but despite the high price, I can always find the ultra's. The promo's are harder to come by.
Meh, I think all of them are fair game, provided they've been out long enough. If they are more than 4 sets old, they are ripe for reprinting in my opinion.
well, they don't need to reprint them all on my account either, just the useful ones, so that everyone can get the needed copies. Which is good for the game.
