I was just woundering what inish this deck wants? Would it be evens to swing first, or odd to swing with steel girder. Just wanted to know. Thanks for the help.
Depends on the build and the match-up. Patrick and Joe's deck always wanted to play Bizarro 4+Steel Girder on 5, especially in the mirror. Mine had several options on 5:
- Bizarro
- Bizarro + Boris
- Red Shift (I used this against Punisher and Blackbriar Thorn)
- Talia (discarding Black Thorn or Boris to get them in play for free)
I still like my last two options, but I think Steel Girder will be an automatic 1-of in every Bizarro deck from now on.
On the initiative question, you always want evens if you can get them. It works out best to be attacking on 4 and 6, and defending on 5. You do very little damage on turns 1-3, it's extremely hard to win on 4, somewhat hard to win on 5 (although in one match I took an opponent from 28 to -69 on a turn 5 init), and very easy to win on 6.
My question is, do you think UDE feels like they have to take any sort of action now?
or will they just let it be the 10-ton beast of the format for a while and let people try to figure out ways to beat it?
Well now you have at least two decks to scream about instead of one, so why change anything when the very next set will resolve the Bizarro Issue..or make it worse yes new even more powerful wording no but you will still have quicksilver for oh 2 more sets, and fate set for 1 after,..Long Curve and Quick rush "can" beat this deck.
Quite honestly, I can see them doing an errata on Four Freedoms Plaza to bring its templating in line with other similar cards like Family of Four. That would not nuke the Bizarro deck entirely, but it would reduce its power level considerably. Being able to fetch any card in your deck 1-3 times per turn is just crazy.
I don't know, FFplaza has been fine for like the whole time vs. has existed, so unless they plan on handing out names like candy, it will only be sickly abusable in this deck for the short time the text of B-world is B-roken.

Let it go as is. There's only one more big event before it changes. I think the meta can adapt. If Bizarro dominates Chicago then the card just errata's itself a month later. Unravel Reality, Dark Matter Drain, Ronan The Accuser, Ahmed Kills, Imprisoned In The Source, Omnipotence... there are answers.

That's because it was working as intended... having to control 4 objects with 4 specified names.

Regardless of amount of time it's "b-roken"... a clarification needs to be made for any future interaction that may grant multiple names to a single character. It's all about intent and abuse... that's it.
Why aren't you interested in protecting the stability of "our" game?

Edit: Knowledge is Power too.
Unravel Reality is terrible against Bizarro World as it's effect is restricted to your build.
Ahmed Kills can be played around via Kate Corrigan.
Omnipotence, KoP, or Imprisoned can be destroyed via singleton HaBs.
DMD falls to PA.
The only really good answer is hidden Ronan which relies on you getting the correct initiative which makes for games dependent on coin flips.

I don't understand, but then I never would have banned Dr. light, or any other card on that list.
Maybe I'm odd for not fearing a challenge.
It seems FFPlaza is working exactly as intended, you do control all 4 members of the FF they are simply represented by the single Bizarro card, like Query and Echo represents 2 characters on one card or M&M. Don't tell me Billy and the Boyz missed this in QC. Heck at least now I can hear a new complaint instead of EOME/QuickX.
I beat one this weekend with Bad Brother how good can it be, Mark Beat one with FFF how much of an unstopable juggernaught is it? I understand Pilot not the plane, but as much as we ask them to stop building neuclear bombs now that the tech exists they will and we just have to adapt and try to find ways of protecting ourselves, at least now we know what we're fighting against.
Its a cold cruel world & you can't go runnin' to your momma's skirts everytime the "broken" ones darken your sky.
Sigh. FF Plaza was intended for four SEPARATE objects with SPECIFIED names. If you don't want to see that... you're hopeless.
Query and Echo, Mikado and Moesho are not the same... because they represent one object. Man... I can't believe you guys who actually post that nonsense.
And about beating Bizarro... what is that quote I have?
Oh yeah... "You must have played a bad build."
How did you and Mark do overall? Yeah... 'nuff said.
Patrick and I had a long conversation about this. The metagame for VS always suffers when there is a deck you either play or have to tech against.
That is never good for the health of the game because it turns players off who want to try out new stuff but auto-lose to some character who can fetch any plot twist to nerf you.
You need to look at the bigger picture... this isn't a challenge to your manhood about how you can take on Bizarro with a crappy deck. It's about creating a balanced metagame where there are multiple deck types that can be played.
Sure... we can wait for the metagame to shift or for Bizarro World's current text to rotate out but meanwhile everyone is playing or playing against Bizarro in the next City Champs, Elites and Megas? Is that really what you guys want to see?

OMFG i never seen any own some1 so badly kariggi head must have spun around two times.
Who ever says the cards that are on the ban list shouldn't be lose are credibility points period all though i love me some dr. light and overload =).
Well i have to disagree with erick when there is a premire deck i think its better for VS. When CS was running around every1 knew either beat CS or play CS and that was good. Now the difference between have a premire deck as opposed to a premiere deck that wins from turn 3-5 will not be good for the game. Like you said this deck doesn't win on 5 and is extremely combat orientated like CS so i don't think its bad for the game. It makes no sense for Family our Four 2 give +1/+1 but FFP to search for everything but i just consider it like that since its a reprint of a MOR which screams brokeness.
Decks that came from CS domiance
New School
Dream
Scudder
Decks that come from Bizarro domiance
wait for chicago
I understand letting the metagame shift but most of you remember how much complaining there was during the CS/TT days.
Since there are already gripes about lack of product, why add to that?
"Man... Bizarro is the best deck but I can't play it because Steel Girders are going for $20 online!"
"I have tech to beat Biz-Natch but it's all in MVL and I can't buy it anywhere!"
Seriously... do you guys want to see the Chicago metagame dominated by Bizarro again or do you want to see an unknown one that would be more exciting because people could actually play OTHER decks? Isn't that why there were so many complaints about Quicksilver?
My point is we're trying to make inroads with VS and bring in new or past players... but what do you want to tell them?
"Hey... I hear VS is doing better... I want to start playing [again]. What's a good team to play? I hear this Legends mechanic is pretty cool too. What's the best Legend?"

"Uh... Revenge Squad and Bizarro."
"Huh?"
we'll during the days of CS and TT my HL flurished having 20+ ppl when HV reared its ugly head some people refused to play the game and we wouldn't have tournaments. It's different from being beat on turn 6 or 7 hitting your full curve as opposed to losing turns 3 or 4 and barely getting started. What i've come to realize is that people will never be happy and you can't make them happy no matter how much you give them they will want more and always complain.
