The human mind instinctively creates shapes that we recognize, it makes it easier to process something. That's why we see stuff in clouds and constellations. When you're focusing energy through the ring I'm sure it's a lot easier to envision a rifle or crossbow rather than just going *pew*, because you already know what a rifle or crossbow looks like. I seriously doubt they're taking the time to make all the moving parts work properly, that's just how it comes out of the ring.

As for the aliens-yeah, hell if I know.

Comics are a visual medium and one or two weird alien shapes are cool but an entire splash page of them would be weird and disorienting.

Besides, you know you'd be building chainsaws and Gatling guns with a ring, efficiency of design be damned, chainsaws are cool.

Stop Sign (R20X.13) - This character can use Outwit and Plasticity. When it uses Outwit in this way, it can only counter speed powers. 8 points.

Spotlight(R20X.12) - This character can use Improved Targeting - Ignores Hindering. 6 points.

Bulldozer(R20X.11) - This character can use Force Blast. When it does, it may target an opposing character within 4 squares and line of fire, and all characters adjacent to that opposing character. 4 points.

Dang, I was hoping that the spotlight would ignore hindering terrain.

Can set up some pretty weird and gross stuff with ignores characters, though. Pretty pumped about that.

The Stop Sign is just giving me more reason to believe fusing the Star Sapphires and Red Lanterns is a good idea.

Also, that chart has some interesting symmetries. The "good" lanterns all have constructs to the right of the green lanterns (and where they are in the spectrum) and also, the closer the color is to green on the spectrum, the closer their construct is to the participation prizes.

Quick update: Looks like the previewer misread the card for the Spotlight. It is Improved Targeting: Hindering instead of characters it seems. Correcting above.

Oh Lord, I take it back. Bulldozer is now my new favorite construct. 4 points? Seriously only four points? Can be used to shove clusters. Situational but epic.
