Okay, Fiends are awesome, but terrible if used in the wrong way. First of all, no card uch as bark of dark ruler. That's just terrible. Here, my friends, is an acceptable fiend deck:
monsters:20
dark necrofear x3(these monsters are the greatest fiend inovation ever. They can even be discarded and used as food for each oter. Awesome)
dark ruler x2 no more tributes or special summons after this. Just not worth it.
giant germ x3
newdoria x3
cyber jar
kuriboh
abyss assasin x2 infinite discard
archfiend soldier x3
sangan
TIV
also, you can use monsters such as brain jacker and dark mimic. Slate warrior can be substituted for archfind soldier, or they can work alongside each other by removing abyss assasins and sangan, if you tend to like beatdown better. I would not reccomend that.
traps: 9
mirror wall (this allows your newdorias and germs to take out beatsticks)
ROD
COTH
TT
Magic Jammer(discarding again)
sakuretsu armour
waboku x3(best. trap. ever. period.)
cards: 40
dark jeroid, great maju garzett, and archfiends, not good. At all, really. They have their ups, but the ups don't even get close to the downs. Also, I play post post april ban, that's why there's no Change of heart, etc. And no dimension fusion. Juat glogs up the works, and gives you a bad draw when your lifepoints are low. Fiends are my speciality. I've ran fiend beatdown, fiend field control, fiend hand control, fiend necro control, and, to a lesser extent, archfiend. They are quite useful, most of the time. Cards to avoid: dimension jar, banisher of the light, necrovalley, among others. Also, Magical Scientist is useful, with dark balter, but I'd reccomend staying away from it, as it's kinda banned.
......reads over this several times.............reads over it again.......

....ignore this please
Will do Des, will do. Honestly, calling Bark of Dark Ruler a terrible card...
Not a problem Dillie-O the deck base looks good BTW.
As to the "The Lost Millienium" set. You're right Des, Zombies will have the most advantage from Double Attack. Other then discarding Marie the Fallen One, (though the chances of a fiend deck packing one are rather slim to none) the only other benefit I can see is for Gren Maju while Banisher of the Light is on the field or to continue pumping up a Chaos Necromancer late game.
ROFL, does that guy even have a clue what he's talking about? I swear, if someone like that soils my beloved D. Tactics they'll wish they'd never been born...
@Messenjah:
Acceptable? You're joking right? I mean, you have to be joking...
Possible, it's just that when it comes to level 7 or higher monsters, we don't really have much that we use aside from Dark Necrofear, Invader of Darkness and MAYBE a Fusilier Dragon.
Maybe if we threw on a Demotion or that Level Changing Test Laboratory first?
Hm, you are probably right about that...we would have to wait until the english text to confirm.
There is one fiend card that I know of, that could get down with Double Attack: Goblin King. It's only a level 1 so it's pretty much garunteed that you can discard anything from your hand. And Goblin King attacking twice is every man's dream.
sorry to have been away. between getting the flu and starting another graduate class, inventory checks at work, in-laws visiting.......AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH111111*gaxck*
*breathes*
Now, now boys. dont kill the Messenjah. Im sure that you all recall the rather fierce debate that took place when someone was discussing whether or not 2 Dark Rulers and 2 Necrofear in the same deck was a good idea.
Now is the time to break them out of their shell. Enlighten, so to speak. What's the saying? You draw more flies with honey than vinegar. (or is it more flies with dead things than poo poo?)
I can think of 2 instances where 3 Necrofear can not simply be used, but used really well. (Course, both of those happen to revolve around RFP tactics)
Besides, from what I read, he wrote:

That implies he has yet to hear of Bark even. He assumes that the effect is terrible because he hasnt heard of its uses. There is some serious education needed here. Course, I cant recall having heard of Abyss Assassin, myself. Is that the Jpn name for another card??
The fact that Messenjah is arguing against Archfiends shows, if nothing else, that he hasnt read through 2000+ posts on the fanaticism we have displayed concerning the Terrorking and his crew. Who can blame him? Thats a lot of reading! To most, Archfiends still are, and will always be, not worth it. Who's to say they are wrong? I can't ever seem to make a decent Chaos deck, lol. They must suck^_^
Dillie-O, my friend, I shall get to that thread sometime today, I promise. Though, it may be in the Lair. I like to keep the circulation there fresh.
Hmm... Abyss Assassin... isn't that the Japanese name for Abyss Soldier?
Funny, I seem to have gone off Necrofear... can't be bothered with the lady at all anymore, and it has nothing to do with her errata, she just doesn't appeal anymore. Instead, I've developed an affection for Lesser Fiend, so my Fiendish setup now runs Gilfer, Hades, Mefist and Lesser Fiend xD
I don't know squid, what you say makes sense (as usual) but... ah, forget it. I notice he hasn't posted again anyway lol :p
Dragon, you have a safe trip and we'll see you back here soon!
Thanks for the input ByserSquid when it comes. I know you're busy and you're studies come first 8^D
Yeah, we can't shoot the messenjuh, he was probably sent out to try and wreak some havoc, but hey fiends can take criticism with a smile, because we just weild it into our advantage 8^D
So the fiend question this week: Brain Jacker. Is it worth it? Most people outside the fiendish group think that its a waste since its a flip and has to survive the battle, which makes it too unreliable. What do you guys think? I know we've mentioned it briefly here and there, but let's dig hard into this relatively new fiend.
argh. Once again, being in Guatemala puts me at a disadvantage. FET has yet to appear (though its been 2 weeks since I went to my store) I picked up Dark Revelations over FET when I was stateside, because I wanted to complete some stuff for Huge Revolution, Final Countdown, etc, which was all easily available there.
Out of the FET packs I got, no Jacker :(.
From a theoretical standpoint, I like it a lot. Swarm decks are the big rage, whether its Warrior, Level, insect, beast...its all about speed. Fiends have not a lot to compete with that, I must admit.
For a while I was getting discouraged that a lot of the monsters and supports we have been getting since DCR have moved into more general realms. Though, diverse, its seems that the variety itself is watering down the effectiveness of the overall Fiend theme.
The one exception is not effect negation, (Dark Ruler forgive me), but in stealing. All of the support cards that people have been looking at for replacing Change of Heart, including the upcoming Brainwash-Brain Control from Lost Milleneum, Mind Control (or whatever its called), and yes, Brain Jacker all work to clear the field for direct attacks.
BJ would be a good reason for some people to bring back Waboku. for others, Threatening Roar, for more fiendish souls Bark of Dark Ruler, for me ....probably Interdimensional Matter Transporter (love that card^_-') Then there is other avenues, like Soul Exchange and such. It makes me think that anyone who really wants to make a serious Tribute deck, or direct attack deck, would want to go Fiend.
What it makes me want to do is explore effects that trigger when direct Battle Damage is inflicted. Anyone remember Super RoboLady and Super Roboyaru? lol, I still have the fusion materials for those, too.
Having already experimented with Brain Jacker I can honestly say it.... ROCKS!!
It all depends on your setup, though. For instance, Spear Cretin can bring back monsters for you to jack, as well as Jacker itself, and other flip-effect Fiends like Slate Warrior will love the support cards that do Brain Jacker, too.
Another thing that I highly recommend is The Shallow Grave, since it'll let you bring Jacker back face-down and provide with a jackable monster xD
Naturally, you'll want Book Of Taiyou triplets and some stuff like Threatening Roar and Waboku. Swords Of Revealing & Conceling Light are also good choices.
Used properly, Brain Jacker will have your opponent screaming for mercy when every single card they use gets turned aginst them hehe :devious:
Oh, and don't forget Tailor Of The Fickle
BTW, thanks Dillie, I'll probably be living in an i-net cafe until I get myself sorted lol :p
TLM-JP033
Wicked God - Reshef
Light/Demon - Ritual/8/2500/1500
This card can only be Ritual Summon by [Ritual of Wicked God]. Discard a Magic card from your hand and choose a monster on opponent's field, you gain control of that monster until the end of turn. This effect can only be use once per turn.
Ultra/Ultimate Rare
i started drooling when i read that. i realize discarding a magic can hurt, but this had me thinking of making a fiend hijacker deck. with this guy, jowls, and brain jacker, they would never keep a monster on the field. it'd require some tukuyomi abuse, but who really minds that ? what do you all think ?
You're gonna give up 2-3 cards just to get this brute out, and then discard another card (a Spell, no less) to get his effect.
Sounds rather hefty just for a Change Of Heart effect. Don't get me wrong, I can see it being rather powerful, it's just the cost of bringing it out that's putting me off...
i dunno. i've never had too many problems with rituals since manju came out. he's half the cost himself. and yeah, the spell card thing does bug me. i was thinking of sword of deep seated, but that can mess you up if they get you locked with it. still sounds like it's worth a shot, even if just for fun.
oh yeah, the point of the deck being to control their monsters, i see no reason you wouldn't be able to use their monster to summon it a good deal of the time.
