1) Abyss Assasin is the wrong name for Night Assasin which is the right name for Night Assailant.
2) Brain Jacker is definitely worth it, but only in a deck that is ready for him. Desert Sunlight, Taylor of the Fickle, Book of Taiyou, etc. Sometimes a set Brain Jacker + a set Draining Shield/Magic Cylinder/Waboku/Threatening Roar/Negate Attack/etc is the best way to go.
Reshef of Destruction (as how he will most likely be called), is what I reffer to as the third leg in the Tripod of Ritual Fiends.
All of our Ritual Fiends are Level 8, they all have HIGH ATK, and each can either be put in a specific Fiend deck or be use to accentuate what your deck is missing. Here we go:
The Masked Beast
DARK/Fiend/8/3200/1800 This card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Curse of the Masked Beast". You must also offer monsters whose total Level Stars equal 8 or more as a Tribute from the field or your hand.
For BEATDOWN Fiend decks. This guy has raw power and will most likely be an option for decks who like love to deck Dark Ruler as their biggest weapon.
Dark Master - Zorc
DARK/Fiend/8/2700/1500 This card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Contract with the Dark Master". You must also offer monsters whose total Level Stars equal 8 or more as a Tribute from the field or your hand. During your turn you can roll 1 six-sided die. If the result is 1 or 2, destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field. If the result is 3, 4, or 5, destroy 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field. If the result is 6, destroy all monsters on your side of the field.
This big guy is monster removal. But his Dice Roll effect will benefit from "Dice Re-Roll", which is more than likely to be ran in an Archfiend deck. Archfiend players will take joy at using this card and the monster removal is just what the doctor ordered for Archfiends.
Reshef of Destruction
Light/Fiend/8/2500/1500 This card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Ritual of Wicked God". You must also offer monsters whose total Level Stars equal 8 or more as a Tribute from the field or your hand. Discard a Spell Card from your hand and select a monster on your opponent's side of the field. Gain control of that monster until the end of this turn. This effect can only be activated once per turn.
Will be used in the Necrofear fiend deck. It will run Necrofear, and Kiseitai which will equip to monsters when they attack them or try to destroy them as well as Brain Jacker, Invader of the Throne, and Jowls of Dark Demise with a few Book of Taiyou, Desert Sunlight and other effects to flip them face-up.
And the reason they made Reshef a LIGHT instead of a DARK is because we ALL would've abused "Contract with the Abyss". Think about it!
Waldo10032 – The Fiendish Duelist says:
------------------------------------- Everything I know, I learned from Novastar, VenomLord, Magicien_Noir, KrazyKillRoy, Pyrofire14 and Tyloki. So praise me for learning so well when I'm right and blame THEM when I'm wrong. (More people will be added to this list as needed)
Hmm, but now that another Light monster has been added to the vast collection of fiends it makes it more possible to create an Archfiend-Chaos deck, something that I have been thinking about for quite some time.
Desrook can serve as the main Light monster, and it might be necessary to add 1-2 TheBan Nightmare. Then you can go ahead and add the new ritual along with a pair of Night Assailants. Sangan can search for either TheBan or Desrook....or a Kuriboh ^_^ And then perhaps you could use a Summoner of Illusions to bring out the Fiend Skull Dragon for Terrorking Archfiend. Giant Germ can bring out 2 Dark/Fiend early in the duel as well as tribute fodder for Lesser Fiend. (Archfiend)
whooo ! my view has been endorsed by waldo. i can die happy now. eek. must stop hero worship.
Don't worry, I felt the same way when I got recognition.

Hmm, How many Light monsters would we need in an Archfiend-Chaos deck. I would have thought that you could just use Manju since he supports Reshef anyway.
I never had sooo much fun with my archfeind deck as i did this last weekend. It was a pretty typical beatdown archfeind deck with all the usall suspects there. but this time i added 2 new little friends two Statue of the Wicked. It was really a last minute little thing i had been toying with in my head for abit and at the last minute as writting my deck sheet i threw them in. They saw alot of use and alot of people were totally thrown off by them. They defended me many times, got trubited for Dark Ruler even more, removed from play with Puppet Magic, and even got to attack with a Axe equiped on it. It ended up being alot of fun and was great to see ppl second guess themselves on what to remove. It ended up being a very versital card with all the things that can be done with it. Even better was the fact that it works even with Jinzo on the feild and does not have to be set for a turn to get its effect. Sevral times i set one or two then heavy storm'd the field just to get the tokens to sac or so forth. Ok thats my fun don't know if they will stay but might find a spot in the side deck.
Funny, I seem to have gone off Necrofear... can't be bothered with the lady at all anymore, and it has nothing to do with her errata, she just doesn't appeal anymore. Instead, I've developed an affection for Lesser Fiend, so my Fiendish setup now runs Gilfer, Hades, Mefist and Lesser Fiend xD
This may come off sounding like blasphemy, but dragon-reborn has a point. To me, Dark Necrofear doesn't seem as enticing as she once was before. I find that getting 3 Fiends into the Graveyard is a bit more difficult with the banning of Painful Choice and at times, Necrofear is slow to summon. I've lately been experimenting with my Fiend Deck by sidedecking my Necrofears and trying out one-tribute heavy hitters like Mefist, Lesser Fiend, and The End of Anubis alongside Dark Ruler Ha Des. The deck has a much smoother and faster feel to it now, and without Necrofear I can cut the number of monsters in my deck down to a much faster 16. Lots of new possiblities are opening themselves to me, giving me a lot of new ways to tinker around with my deck. Has anybody else tried this yet?
Blasphemy? Pff, I used to run Blue-Eyes Chaos, believe me, THAT'S blasphemy xD
I'll admit I never considered cutting the monster count though, sounds good, I'll try that. The only problem I have with End Of Anubis is it would negate quite a few cards in my deck setup, so I'll probably just stick with Gilfer. Or be daring and add another Dark Ruler :p
I've never considered the Dark Lady to be a first turn gal or opening presence intimidator, I usually bank on her as a mid duel threat, due finisher, or momentum shifter. I like to save her for when my opponent things they are getting the upper hand, or when I ready to really cause some havoc on the field. By this time, I ususally have at least one tribute material, one battle casualty and one general tech/discard requirement in the graveyard to make things happen.
While she has suffered a blow, I don't wouldn't classify it as detracting.
That is AWESOME on the Statue of the Wicked fun athgar12! I have one or two and have always been wondering what to make of them. Sounds like fun.
Wow, do I have to do a lot here! I didn't get the chance to celebrate our 140 pages!!
*Hands out the Pina Coladas*
I decided to go for a more Hawaiian approach! ^_^
Anyway, with the new fiends coming out, I think we are going to be more powerful than ever. Out of curiosity, though, do you think that the Rock and Machine monsters will be a threat to the fiends?
Waldo- I may indeed do that. I saw your tradeables and have been wanting to pretty much kill my collection and start over. (ah the pains of boredom)
You know, someone once mentioned that the Fiendish followers were starting to develop a hive mentality. It has now been a full month since Ive played Necrofear, either. However, in my case it has nothing to do with the ruling (which was long overdue) or the banning of Painful Choice, or any other reasons listed so far. I decided to send her back the the binder simply because it has long been considered a Fiend deck staple. So many decks pack at least one (as I did). So many decks pack 1 Dark Ruler (as I did), so many decks pack........well, you get the picture. Its redundant. Very few decks Ive seen have any originality concerning Fiends these days. No offense to anyone, seriously. I still see plenty of inventive Fiend designs, like Dillie-O's and Nitestar's, but they remain in the minority. (Dillie-O: I still owe you some deck advice, but Im still sick and not feeling up to it. But I wont forget)
For those that dont know, I ran a back to basics Fiend deck not so long ago, with all the standard monsters and it has left a BAD taste in my mouth. The deck worked successfully, but there was no thinking involved in playing it. It was so standard that anyone could have played it.
All this ranting has a point.
I want to say congrats to Athgar12 for the unusual experimentation of Statue of the Wicked. I go on several deck building kicks at a time, and one of them is building decks without monsters (0r at least as few as possible). Ive been wanting to build a Fiend deck, without any Fiends, and this card is foremost on my mind for that design. (please dont ask what the decks look like though. they're part of a private file, right now)
NinjaDuelist- Pina Colada?!! Ohhuuuhhhhhh!! I love those.
ByserSquid, you never cease to push the envelope when it comes to fiendish and not so fiendish deck design, with your mad decks, your 7 deadly sins, and all the rest, you keep things flowin'.
I'm getting inspired to do some fiend emphasis decks after the success of the Wall of Illusion deck, mainly due to the feedback I've gotten from everybody and the angles people are seeing that I'm not. I've gotta play test it soon, but nonetheless its a great build to add to the collection.
Then again...there is so much else going on too that I gotta stay balanced 8^D
Ultimately I say EVERY deck is a threat to the fiends. Warriors have the swarm that we don't often inherently. Dragons gets some sheer speed and power that fiends don't often get. Machines are seeing some extra power due to the already overabused Limiter Removal and Heavy Mech Platorm, I'm sure the rocks are seeing more action too. I was an earth man back before I became "fiend evangelized" and there was a lot of stability to be said with the earth cards, especially the rocks that were in there. They didn't necessarily topple the situation, but they wouldn't leave you hanging. They were often quite good at giving you a turn or two to prepare your onslaught. I'm sure they will become even more brutal with the new cards, which I have to go look through again 8^D
In the grand scheme of things I think Fiends still, and may always remain the lethal assasins Never a whole lot of direct support, but lethal beyond compare in their own right when assembled by a competent organizer.
And now I'm charging you interest on that deck check 8^D But seriously, do get better soon. Have you tried extra coffee yet? 8^D

I'd watch what you say or you....OOPS...there it goes..my head as swelled....NURSE, bring me a local, a syringe, and some tubbin'..got to siphon this thing back to normal.
NinjaDuelist - hmmm...liver killing goodness...I WANT A PINT OF JACK AND COKE with a follow-up of a Long Island Ice-tea. Don't look at me like that. It's the only way to get the voices to show themselves.
I had something to say bout the lack of creativity in fiends, but then I can never just say something. Which then turns into a semi-rant. Which in turn gets me thinking that's not enough or maybe I've gone too far. So in turn that's just too much work so i then do something like this that actually doesn't say anything...
Make of it what you will and blame those that speak within cause they never let me sleep and toy with me everyday by forcing me to wake up.

Although you may have a point about each element having some sort of an advantage over fiends, if you think about it, every element has control over each other! Dragons have the spells to take out the stall cards, but the stall cards have power to stall off the dragons. Warriors and zombies are almost equal in speed, so it depends on who pulls what during the duels. Like said in the past, it is a war amongst all monsters, and I like it!
Nitestar, a pint of Jack and Coke with a Long Island Iced Tea? Wow, aren't you creative! What do I look like, a bartender? Well, you guessed correctly (for today)! Comin' at ya!
Oh I definatly agree. The traditional fiend beatdown deck no longer cuts it - mainly due to the amount of options it has compared to other decks. (New sets...new cards....new options) All it knows is to simply beatdown the oppenent.
I also beleive the YuGiOh community as a whole has gotten a lot smarter since LOD and found ways around our...err your Necrofear. So all you guys really need to do is adopt some new strategies - new original fiend builds (much like squid's) It's still ok to use Necrofear, but I wouldn't recomend using it as your main strategy. Something along the lines of running 1 Dark Necrofear that you will draw late game to wrap it up. (Less options to deal with her late game)

Wicked God - Dreadroot
Dark/Demon/10/4000/4000
This card cannot be special summon. This card can only be Normal Summon by sacrificing 3 monsters on your field. When this card is face-up on the field, the attack and defense strength of all of your other monsters are halved.
i'm in shock and drooling over this. fiends rule for strongest single non-fusion monster now ! what say you all ?
