I really don't want to sound like a whiner (too late I suppose) and if I'm completely wrong please let me know, but I wanted to get other peoples opinions on this. Are you happy with her dial?
Well I think it's an issue that many people have when they make up dials for characters. They like theirs, even though there are tons of ways to represent characters, if the designer isn't mind linked to you they aren't going to hiot yours. I like many of the dials I see in the D&D forum but as long as the feel of the character is right I'm cool with what we get.
This Domino has range, PC, an SP to further spotlight her luck powers, stealth(as all good X-Forcers should ) and RS to spotlight her favoring range combat. That feels enough like Domino to me. But each persons mileage will very.
IMO, there are lost of ways to represent a character....some examples ;
One moment/comic dials - that focus on what they did in that one instance (I'd say SI Spiderman is a good example).
Carrer dials - dials that show the full history(or most of it at least) of a character (like Caliban just got)
On their best day dials - probably some of the most hated/loved dials made these dials tend to do everything they can do and have stats that are sometimes make people cringe(WoS Deadpool and Bullseye) but they are usually capable of those things on their best day reguardless if people want to admit it or not.
Guest appearence/team member dials - dials that show characters when they are not the focus of the story or are sharing the spotlight with their teammates. These tend to be more economic with the pt costs (see: cheaper) and tend to not show everything the character can do.(I put SI Spiderman in this group as well)
I tend to think that this Domino dials is in the last group(GA/TM) with the focus of the most recent X-Force and U-X-Force line-ups as of late I would think this would be to fit her XF contributions.
For me, with that in mind, this is a good Domino and will be a boon for that team. She might be a bit more bare bones when you consider what she could be but I'm happy with her.
Could she have been a ? Sure.....I don't see that as nesessary though. I would have liked it for her but if she'll be easier to fit on teams(because of the lower point cost) with out it which I preferr.
She might even be one of the dials I consider to stand in for Fantomex (for Modern) until we get a new one. I have been using M&M Gambit but I don't really like that it......the first 3 clicks are ok but after that it tends to get away from him. Hopefully there will be some better options in GSX.....and Domino looks like a good starting point.
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?
Wow. Just wow. The frost giant is just amazing and the first big figure I even want. And can close combat expert be used with Wolvie and Coll duo? Six damage seems insane if it can...
BibtB James Madrox. Really? He can't make Multiple Men like the one in the set. Carry or boost Multiples or have something to help them? No. Nothing. No perplex either. Well at least he cna us ehis T/A. Nope on that too.
I LOVE this set so far. This is the only piece i don't like
Ok here's Cable/Deadpool done via the dial generator for those that can't see the pics.
