The premise is that you have unlimited MM fodder for the Leader from HoM Hulk so Leader can O/W everyone and pick people apart slowly.

That makes him counter-meta. Which makes him still a conceivable option.
The only way I'd expect to see a team like what Micah built is if some load (and credible) player started talking about bringing 300pt Superman. robedestroyer is probably right in that there will be less KZ, more NC this year, and Superman has a more credible chance against that.
See I built that team on the fly as I read your post, BUT i do expect alot of HSS brick teams this year. So givin some time I would have moved to KZ sooner or later as i love him.
Even if your the meta breaker with your home brew you still gotta build and play against your weakness just in case it shows up.

True. Kid Zoom by himself isn't really a dealbreaker for Superman, though. 3 Outwits is probably more of a dealbreaker than Kid Zoom.
Of course, if you keep facing everything but that with Superman, kill a Nurse and move on you have slight chance of not meeting your weakness. I don't think Kid Zoom will be completely gone, either though unless he's a surprise retirement. I'd be surprised if BatB and HoT were 'retired' this year.
I'd like to post some of the teams I've been trying out, but I know certain players scan my posts. These are players that I'm going to be playing against and don't want to tip my hand for the Supremacy League. Right now I'm contemplating either playing just a "good" team, or going for the throat "I'll destroy you and your children!"-type team.
Needless to say, the Gamma Bomb and Gauntlet are going to be fixtures at GenCon. I also predict that you'll either see the Gauntlet used with 1 gem or all the gems, but nothing in-between.
Most golf courses have the creative name of "The 19th Hole" for the bars in their clubhouses. Not sure why they all think it is funny.
Holy Crow, you mean all those places I passed up, thinking they were indoor golf facilities, kinda like bowling alleys for duffers, were really...(gulp)...saloons??!!!???
Silly me.
Tim Burton was right: "A square jaw does not a Batman make." Steve Buscemi as the next Batman! Luke Perry as Joker! Let's make it happen!

Saloon? Can I call you Wyatt Earp now? Doc Holliday would also suffice.
Sorry, whenever I hear "saloon," I think of an old western with a piano in the background and cowboys playing poker. Either that or it's also the name of a sleazy gay bar in Minneapolis. Sometimes you can find all these things together.
Can you tell me why you think that? We're gonna be building 300pt gencon-ish teams next week, so that would be good info.
It just seems about right for the timing of the next round of retirement. I've got nothing factual to back it up with, but I for one wouldn't be surprised to see BatB retired. I would like to see WoS retired as well, but don't think that'll happen.

(Speed) Alter Ego: Red Hulk: Give General Thunderbolt Ross a power action that deals no pushing damage and replace this character with IH #210 Red Hulk on its orange starting line. Existing action tokens on this character and action tokens for this action are applied to the replacement. This power can't be countered.
(Attack) Call in the Air Strike: Once per game, give Thunderbolt Ross a double power action. Choose a square anywhere on the map. Modify General Thunderbolt Ross' attack value by +3 and make a ranged combat attack that does not target, and compare the result to each character occupying the chosen square or a square adjacent to the chosen square. A hit character occupying the chosen square is dealt 3 damage. Other hit characters are dealt 2 damage that causes knock back from the chosen square. Destroy all walls and squares of blocking terrain in or adjacent to the chosen square.

There's an @$$less chaps joke in there somewhere. I'm just not a good enough comedian to find it.
