I'll cop to the capitalization thing.

But I do it by my own set of rules.

I capitalize Hockey just about every time I write it; it's that important to me.

People have used e e as a cop out so they don't have to follow the rules of writing. The difference is that he knew the rules and broke them for a specific effect.

But if The Commander calls me out for my capitalization habits, that's fine and dandy too. It shows me that someone is paying attention to the rules enough to NOT add to The List. And even though I grin when I add things to The List. I like it even more when I don't need to do so.

Mute point may just be a mispronunciation. But I can understand why that bothers you too.

Ghosts say "Boo", they don't say "Byoo". So it's "moot", not "mute"!

It rankles the hell out of me when I hear nuke-ya-ler.

The worst offenders on those last two are, oddly enough, the people at NPR.

But the total lack of capitalization bugs me more than random capitalization; unless it's in the middle of a wOrd.

Oh, not me. Reading text with wrong punctuation hurts my brain. No punctuation doesn't bother me. I always try to read the capitalized words with some kind of emphasis and it ends up with me barely being able to figure out what the sentence says if it's bad enough.

I think people should have "English; not my first language" in their sigs if it's the case.

That way I'm not assuming that it's the case when it's not and being merciful when I shouldn't.

I'm in (science) class right now. By my count (I didn't start counting until it had already happened a shocking number of times) people have said "nucular" 30+ times in the last half hour. I think at that point we all just get to go home, right?

30+ times doesn't count.

They need to say "yuge" or "yuman" at least five times in CONCERT with the "nucular" to get the Auto-Excused.

Sorry, 'Mander, I wish I could tell you that I don't make the rules I just enforce them.
