Heh, David Stern quite likely made it clear that under no circumstances can we have a Spurs/Pacers finals.
It's why I don't take the NBA seriously anymore, it's just a step or two removed from professional wrestling, at this point. Especially with the acknowledged problems with the refereeing and the fact that the management DOES NOT CARE about the problems. It's ridiculous.
They could have at least made it interesting. This was anti-climatic. At least WWE keeps you guessing a little bit. I quit about mid way through the 3rd, what a joke of a game.
I disagree with all the talk about how the Heat won. Nobody's talking about the Heat being aggressive and taking it to the Pacers and forcing the Pacers into those fouls. I thought they called a good tight game for the most part. Spoelstra's game plan against the Pacers was near brilliant. Using Mike Miller in place of Shane Battier, was at first questionable, but at the end, you have to tip your hat to the coach for getting Wade and Bosh involved in the game.
Also, in the Heat's other blowout game, Vogel waved the white flag and put in his reserves to say, "Okay, we give." It was very classy and respectful of Spoelstra to pull LeBron and most of his starters out first so that Vogel didn't have concede.
The fouls were BS, I'll give you that. I groaned when Hibbert & Paul George picked up 4 a piece cause I always HATE to see a game influenced by fouls.
But give credit where credit is due. The Heat won that game. Stifling defense, they dominated the paint, and they won the rebound battle. It helped that Wade showed up too.

This is true. And the Heat probably would have won without the calls. The problem is, in cases like this, the calls then become the story.

Let me tell you before this series started, I don't know if you guys noticed, but I wasn't doing my usual trash talking because the Pacers had me worried.
If they manage to keep that squad together (West, George, Hibbert), they are only going to get better. They need to upgrade their bench though. Lets see how Granger comes back from the injury.

They don't need an upgrade to their bench they need a point guard.
I doubt it's possible but they should throw a trillion dollars at Chris Paul. Hahaha. Yea I'd totally leave LA for Indianapolis... FART.
I think the Heat is in real trouble. The Pacers took them to game 7, and looked like the better game most of the series, without a point guard and with Grainger out.
I knew that first game would be the real deciding game.
It's weird though my viewpoint on Lebron is kind of shifting again. I really loved watching him. He is unlike anyone we've ever seen play. And when he went to Miami at first I didn't care, decision or whatever, I thought it was fine.
Then he started getting so hated on that I really started to cheer for him and want to see him stack up a bunch of titles.
After this post season though, my like for him is starting to fade. He complains way too much, flops ridiculously, and just seems like a little #####. Pardon the language, that's just the first word that pops in my head when I see how he acts on the court lately.
He is the best player in the world, one of the best I've ever seen play. But the constant complaining and flopping is a real turn off. When you are that freaking good you shouldn't come off like a whiny #####.
I can't believe I might have just talked myself in to wanting the Spurs to beat them. I've got issues.

Man, you must really hate LeBron!

Hahahahahahahaha I guess so! But really I have never hated him, like at all. Something about the past few games I've really sat down and watched.
I'm probably misremembering, but I don't really ever remember thinking of Jordan as being a huge whiny flopper.
I'm really not hating on Lebron, I love his game, love watching him play. But I guess it just looked a tad different this series.
Yeah, Jordan wasn't much of a flopper. Of course, if anyone came within 5 feet of him, they fouled him automatically regardless of contact, so one could argue he didn't NEED to flop to get referee attention.

Ah, the Jordan Rules. Actually I think it's more indicative of today's game play and not just LeBron. I've mentioned before how players would throw their hand up in the air to say, "Yeah, foul was on me," but now you have players convinced that every time down the floor there should be a foul called. He hit my wrist, touched my leg, brushed my hair back with his hand. It's time to go old school and play through it all.
There are bumps and pushes on every play and it's not going to get called, but in today's game, the players expect it. Thank you Vlade Divac and Reggie Miller for making the flop part of today's NBA.

Perhaps it's the heightened playoff atmosphere. It is confusing that the strongest player in the league who shakes off hard fouls to finish three-point plays would fall so easily. His flipping just isn't believable because he is so strong.
For the Finals, it depends which Spurs team shows up. The team from the early Golden State series or the team from the Memphis seriess. One wins the Finals easily, the other loses badly.
Also wouldn't mind a double injury to Wade and Ginobili.

I like this match-up better for the Heat. Splitter is no Roy Hibbert in the paint and Bosh should get easier access to the rim. Duncan is still Timmy D and can pose some problems defensively, but he's no longer a 20 and 10 guy. Parker is the biggest threat to the Heat and I think Cole will be on the floor a lot more in this series than in the last.
The Heat has a deeper bench, but no Ginobili coming off it. Both teams are very disciplined and spread the floor with crisp passing. Overall, I think this will be a great series, and can't wait for it to start.

It'd be like if Karl Malone was flopping all over the place. Just, um, no.
