According to FFG's FB post today, the new wave of ships should hit next week.
yeah I got that message today and they have a new preview Pilot.. I'm actually excited for Star Wars this time as the Tie Ships are some of my favorite!!

new preview Pilot? Where?
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?
I guess you could technically call it a preview article on the Phantom. But it really is just a strategy article they had a player write. They are really trying to up the content on their site, with the strategy articles to fill in when they don't have a preview.
I'm fascinated that they're releasing OP prizes (first the fighters, now this) to retail. I can't wait to see if it's just going to be a straight reprint or if they'll be different cards.

I would imagine different cards, but who knows. I am really curious about the Fed fighters, as they are currently a resource, but were listed as a expansion ship when they went up for preorder.
'bout frickin' time! Hopefully there are some good/cool upgrades in there, and maybe Sela as a captain! Sure, she doesn't have anything to do with the Haakona, but I'm not sure where else they'd fit her in, and she seems like such a glaring hole in the Romulan lineup.
Taris is the obvious other choice for captain, since they chose the Haakona, but I've always wanted Sirol and the Terix.
Also, while the Tholians don't interest me that much, I'm glad to see that they're getting a general release - makes me hopeful for the Gorn! Not sure if I'd prefer different versions to the LE's. On the one hand, I'd like for everyone to have those cards available, on the other hand, releasing a different version means there's more diversity in those factions, if you can get your hands on the LE, and more incentive to purchase them if you already have the LE.

I'd like to see these as actual ships. It'd also be a good excuse to get Wesley Crusher as a Captain/Crewman and Nicholas "Not-Tom-Paris" Locarno.
As for the Romulans, Sela is pretty glaring, and I think she'd make a great Admiral for them.
I'd like some variety for the Tholians, so I'd prefer all new cards. I'd prefer that LEs stay exclusive card-wise. Without exclusive prizes, OP will die out. When that happens, the game dies, too.
I'd say the more ships get released, the less incentive I feel to buy them. It happened with me and Heroclix, and Attack Wing has gone from "I must own all of these" to "I think I'll skip 2/3 or more of this wave."
As for the OP, it does reduce the collectivity of them if we know we're getting them later, although with the fighters, there's a strong possibility that we'll get an alternate version, and if it's true for them, I'd be willing to believe it for the Tholians and Gorn.
Locally the weekly X-Wing game averages 7-ish without prizes and clix is pulling in about the same with prizes, not including the WOL stuff were people are driving 25 miles to play.

Yeah, both of those are definitely true, although it's probably not a bad thing. More ships than I want, or have the drive to collect, still means more stuff that I could potentially face, so it enriches the game for me from that point of view, and given the stupid prices of LEs on the secondary market, knocking their collectivity down a few pegs probably wouldn't hurt. If they stick to this schedule, and the retail ship comes out nearly a year later, then the LE is still exclusive for a while, if having something rare or collectible matters to you.
