"Going somewhere?" Luke says grabbing Sinestro by the collar as he tries to escape. "I don't think so. I don't think I've fought an alien since last Tuesday so I need a little practice." He swats him down with one punch. "OK, practice over."
The Legion debuted in the 60s, and I have to at least give a token nod to them. I'm okay for TK and Grodd's carrying the Mind Control thing perfectly fine, so that leaves Lightning Lad of the founders. Staying economical, I'll play the old Legion mini-set version.
He will RS to T16, double target EE on Green Goblin and Power Man, AV10 on DV17 and 16. Rolls a 6. Hits Luke for 1 after Invulnerable. Captain America is KOd with the splash.
Despero TKs Shade to T15
Shade on Cage, AV10 on DV16. Gets 6. 1 more to Luke after Invulnerable.

"Big tall guy in the middle of the room, perfect target for lightning," Lightning Lad said, hitting Luke with a strike that sent Rick's Captain America sprawling, but didn't seem to have that much effect on Luke.
"Oho, a tough guy, are you?" Shade asked him.
"That's pretty much my thing yeah, what's yours, Captain Top Hat?"
"I control the dark," Shade said, enveloping Power Man in shadow.
"Yeah?" Luke said, tearing it the palpable darkness off him like an extra layer of clothes. "I haven't been afraid of the dark since I was six."

Degaton tries to Regen. Rolls 5. Can't complain. 6 would have been better, but shouldn't be greedy.
Grodd Charges to N17, Flurries on Power Man. AV10 on DV16. Gets 9. 2 to Luke. Second attack on DV15. Gets 3.
Adam Strange uses his Zeta Beam. Places a marker in W16 where he is, then places himself in H22, takes a shot at Green Goblin, AV10 on DV17. Gets 4. Ugh. And this turn started off so well.
He now rolls for the Zeta beam. Gets 4, so he's pulled back to W16

"I will tear you apart for that!" Grodd roared loping at Black Widow, forgetting his mental power in his rage and falling back on his considerable physical strength.
"I don't think so," Power Man said, moving in to block his way to the Widow. Grodd didn't seem to mind changing targets and started throwing wild punches at Luke.
"The goblin costume's pretty creepy, but I've fought aliens," Adam Strange said shooting his ray gun at the Green Goblin.
"You haven't fought anyone like me, spaceman," the Goblin said, throwing a pumpkin bomb, but Adam had already faded away, pulled away by the Zeta Beam.
Widow on Grodd. Needs 7, rolls 9. 2 to him after toughness.
Goblin needs 8 to ko Grodd, rolls 8. Two good rolls, that's all you would've needed last turn.
Luke moves to block.
Goblin rolls for a promotion: 4. Still not enough.

"I think we'll see who tears apart whom," the Black Widow responds to Grodd as she stuns him with a Widow's bite.
A pumpkin bomb detonates at his feet. Green Goblin laughs sinisterly from a safe distance.
Luke Cage finishes him off with a final blow. "One Gorilla Grodd down...and it only took 3 of us to do it. Makes me a little concerned about the next turkey they're gonna throw at us."
Shant complain about Grodd. He did some excellent stuff for me before you knocked him off the first click.
Another slightly buff character replacing him, though there are higher point versions to be sure. Amazo, like Despero, is one of the great JLA villains that came out in the 60s. WK version.
Despero TKs him to N17
He, as a free action, picks up Power Man's Toughness, and shoots at him. AV10 on Dv15. Gets 7. 2 to him after Toughness.
Shade on Power Man, AV10 on DV14. Rolls 5 and he's out.
Lighning Lad RS to Q17, double target Strange and Green Goblin. Rolls 6. That's not hitting either of them.
Adam does his Zeta Beam SP again. Goes to N17 blocking Power Man, and shoots at Black Widow? SC is 2, AV10 on DV17. Rolls 5. Does the beam pull him back? Rolls 1, so no.
Lightning Lad will copy Shade's Mystics, in case I neglected to say.

"You will all fall before the power of Amazo," the android declared, hitting Power Man with an energy blast.
"Dang! That sucker packs a punch," Luke said.
"Weakened as you are, my shades should have more of an effect on you now," Shade said. "I will teach you to be afraid of the dark once again!" Darkness enveloped Power Man and when it flowed back away, Luke Cage was down.
"That's one down. Shall we go for two or three?" Lightning Lad asked.
"You're welcome to try, but you'll fail!" the Green Goblin cackled, grabbing Black Widow and flying them both out of harms way.
"Next time ask before you manhandle me," the Widow told him.
"I just saved your life, ungrateful witch!"
"I am one of the world's greatest secret agents. You think I got that way without learning how to avoid getting shot?"
Spider-Man was my first comics interest. The Avengers came quickly afterwards. The Avengers of the 1970s were them at their best. Top of my list in that group was the Vision and Scarlet Witch, my vote as the most interesting comics couple ever. The Vision, an artificial man grappling with emotions, has never been written as well as this time period. For now, I'll play them as a duo figure although maybe not for long. They'll rs to F113, G14 attacking Adam. Needs 8 + 1, rolls 8. Rerolls 4. Awesome debut.
GG on him. Needs 8, rolls 4.
