So at this point, is it more cost efficient to buy a complete set on Ebay - or to try to build a complete set from bricks and boosters?

I've spent 70.00 collectively so far on M and M.

20 of it was on 9 rares (green scar, Danger, Unus, ......) and 2 feats Inside Info and the other useful one. THe rest on boosters.

I've got pretty much all of the C,U,R figs plus Apocalypse. All for less than a brick, so far.

And there's pretty much only a couple of MUST HAVE SR's for me to get. So if I didn't buy the original boosters the number would be closer to 40.00 for everything.

These new sets distributions just aren't worth it. IMO.

No more soaring or flight stands in Crisis

the question: will anyone actually miss soaring and flight stands (assumeing all other flight rules stay the same)

I can't ever remember anyone using soaring, so I won't miss it. For those who will cry that the flight stand makes it easier to see who can or cannot fly, the same logic applies to Leap/Climb or the Ultimates Team ability - check the dial.

In other words, I'm not going to miss Soaring and I'm not going to miss flight stands.
