The thin that pisses me off even more is the way he died! Honestly he knew the sniper was there! In a real comic Cap would of done a flip and the bullet would of richoceted off his hands cuffs, breaking himself free at the same time so he could catch up to the sniper.
Fact is, he was trying to prevent the guard from getting shot instead. He was being what he's always been, a hero.
Tell me something else like he was completely tied down with adamantium bonds and then maybe I might believe that he could not dodge a sniper bullet which he knew was coming!!!!
I believe they have stated something along these very lines.
It would have been sensible to mention it in the actual comic instead of
Newsarama though I suppose.
cap is most definately not dead.
this is a publicity stunt.
there is a captain america movie slated for 2008.
i expect him to be back well before the movie is even started filming.
he most likely will be ronin in new avengers.
god, i hate marvel comics more and more everyday.
civil war was not as well recieved as infinite crisis or 52,
so they kill captain america.
someone please relieve joey Q of his duties.
he is ruining marvel comics.
everyone should boycott captain america, avengers, iron man, and all related titles until marvel brings cap back.
this is ridiculous.
i hope noone is falling for this bs.

I'll give you that much, but what about the part where he is laying on his back on the court steps. Now please don't compare real life to this situation. Of course any normal human being shot through the upper chest would be lucky if he wasn't gasping for air. We are talking about Captain America who has taken damage from every conceivable conventional weapon known in the entire marvel universe, and kept fighting.
Oh, and I have the issue, read it and even have it on e-file so that I can keep going back to it for reference. Answerman, Your comment is not neccessary, if you want to start flaming for no other reason other than I am a pissed off Marvel reader, so be it. That is not going to change how I feel about the issue in itself. I have read every Avenger marvel tie-in and Captain America book that involves Steve Rogers as Cap, and I can defiantely say, Cap would of never died like that!
And that is my point! Because Joe Q is going out and saying that "he is dead", not saying "you'll have to read and find out". I love a cliffhanger but for them to actually kill a character, ewspecially him, now during our own real time war (Iraq) is totally lame and I am being to kind here....
"That which does not kill us, makes us stronger..."

You showed a clear lack of understanding that one would have of the issue If He'd actually read it.
You made a statement that inferred CAp was shot by an assasin that he didn't notice, when in fact he jumped in front of a bullet meant for someone else.
And then you also inferred that this singular sniper was the one that killed Cap when it was in fact "sleeper agent Carter".
I love Cap , own well over 200 issues of his comics, but I'm not the one whos being irrational in this case so please don't project your anger my way.
(for that matter my post was meant for the guy responding as a way of telling him you're not really listening or paying attention, just being angry.)
You still have yet to show that you have actually read the comic nor have you come up with any solid reason as to why Cap wouldn't have been killed by Sharon Carters entirely surprising move.
You're upset I get it.
Take a couple of deep breaths, walk away for a while, and remember that its a comic , and hes a fictional hero/person.
Fictional hero arch types conquer death, its what they do.
Cap WILL come back eventually, just not next week.
In the meantime the other Caps still alive in Ultimates, and theres that really really cool Cap in that swell 80's movie, as well as the CAp from the Ultimate Avengers Movie, and heck theres even Caps in video games like MArvel Ultimate Alliance, so only 1 of many Caps is dead....
And again, its just for now until he beats the snot out of that pesky death chick.
but seriously relax.
Its an extremely common story concept in comics.
Would you be so freaked if it was Doctor Doom?
Fictional hero arch types conquer death, it's what they do.
Yup. They're not real and therefore have absolutely no governing rules or logic defining what they can or cannot accomplish, thus making each and every fan complaint that a character should or should not be able to do something moot.
I mean, Captain America can't suddenly turn into a jellyfish, right?

Captain America turns into a jellyfish
AMERICA: I have suddenly turned into a jellyfish! I must use this new ability only for good!
Boom, now Cap can turn into a jellyfish, assuming Marvel publishes it. (They wouldn't do the j-fish example, but Cap also can't turn into a werewolf...)
And again, its just for now until he beats the snot out of that pesky death chick.
You know I was actually pd off about him being "Dead" until I read this. It makes me think that a Captain America fights his way through Hell story would be awesome and if done properly I would thoroughly enjoy. Thx
I can desire to dream cant I?

Once again I say that I won't be completely happy until we've done every character in HeroClix.

What in sanities name are you gibbering about?
(ga-buh? )
I made a comparision between Captain America and the 'hero archtype' which dates back to Beowulf.
Beowulf came back from the dead, so have many many superheroes.
If you don't like the idea that heroes, especially superheroes conquer death cause its thier thing, thats your issue.
I can't be blamed for the way heroes have been portrayed since the dawn of the written word dude.....
Which is at its core unrealistic, yet based on realism the way I see it.
Okay.
I have read All the stories this weekend. All of Civil War, Cap #25, The Initiative one shot and the latest New Avengers. Having read all the Information and seen all the Interviews with the great Satan Mr Queseda I have come to conclusion that the whole thing was a stunt to boost the sales of the Marvel titles and stir Interest in Captain America. I think that be it a month, week or year Steve Rogers will come back and be Captain America again. Whether it be by Cloning,Resurrection or A dream Sequence. He will be back.
I will also restate my views that I think it was wrong. The way it was done stinks and that the Marvel verse has become a very dark place lacking in the Hope it once had. The heros have lost their Moral Compass.
You know I was actually pd off about him being "Dead" until I read this. It makes me think that a Captain America fights his way through Hell story would be awesome and if done properly I would thoroughly enjoy. Thx
Hulk did it! Well, it was the Norse Hell (or "Hel"), but he still did it!
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?

My post was agreeing with your position. Hence the yup.
Sorry if I wasn't clear.

What if "Who is the New Captain America" is just a cloned Steve Rogers...that would be such a cop out. But, it would fit what Iron Man is doing these days.
