Finally finshed reading all the comments on 15 pages.
This came as a surprise to me. I thought that we would at least get Hammer of Thor before they announced the coming of the end for Wizkids.
The players at my venue and I were talking about the end of Heroclix last Friday and we had all agreed that even if they died out that we would still get together to play Heroclix and then it would be unrestricted and open to scenarios and what not.
I agree that Heroclix is viable and will continue in one way or another and hopefully it will continue in the way that Theis was envisioning.
Hopefully we continue to get figures we haven't seen yet.
I wouldn't mind getting sets or packs rather than random boosters though. Kind of like Heroscape.
I also wouldn't mind getting the product at retail stores such as Walmart and Target, etc. This would help me out and many others as there really aren't that many game stores near my area.
Well, I know I will continue to play.
"A person who aims at nothing is sure to hit it."
"Enjoy life. There's plenty of time to be dead."
"He who dies with the most toys is, nonetheless, still dead."
I feel really bad for everyone working at WK right now. I wish them the best of luck and hope they can make it alright through the tough times ahead.
Don't blame Tuttle. Or anyone else at WizKids really. They were playing the only hand Topps dealt them, and said hands got increasingly awful as time went on.
Rather than demonizing Tuttle, imagine that he was doing the best he could in a really crappy situation that he couldn't say a word about because he'd be out of a job. Specific decisions might have been bad and INTERNET DRAMA sure, but all in all he was only dealing with the resources the good ol' boys at the Top(ps) gave him.

I wantt o believe you Bro Mags, you are a legend to me, But Tuttle... hearing you is like hear god saying "The devil is not that evil, actually".
The writing on the wall was there, I was just hoping we could ride it out for a few more sets. Sorry TB47, you were so close to the Bi-Beast. I feel bad for you. We'll still be gaming at my joint though, and at least now we'll have the chance to play those 2000 teams we never got around to trying.
I'll keep my pieces forever, and won't stop playing them.
Thanks HCRealms for helping stoke my excitement in something so trivial these past five years or so. This was the first site I ever visited with any regularity, and five years later it was still one of the first things i did every time I logged on.
Great game, we'll see if gets one more gasp, or a new life.
For those of you lamenting your loss of time and money, just remember how much you enjoyed the thrill of the moment, the eager anticipation of awaiting a new set of figs, and all the fun you had in all the games and conversations you took part of. No one can take that away from you, just like no one can keep you from enjoying your next game with a group of pals.
Fantastic Four Starter Set= Best Heroclix Product Yet

Isn't Lucifer just a fallen angel with a different point of view?
Seriously though - as much as I wanted to sometimes, I could never blame the management at WizKids for what happened on a larger scale. By that I mean the constant budget cuts, the expectations that somehow they'd sell more with less to invest in marketing and community support, and the constant pressure to create the next Pokemon/Garbage Pail Kids.
Tuttle is an easily-blameable target, but he was not the thing that made us kaputt, to use a German anarchist term.

Kaputt is a german word? wow, I hear it a lot in my country (Argentina).
Seriously, your time was the Heroclix greatest times.
I will never forget the Collateal Damage set when you was "In charge of the good news". I remember getting Red Tornado, Elongated Man and ALL the Outsiders from Batman and the Outsiders classic in ONE set. and you there to make sure that everybody were happy...

Good times. snif..
They were good times, and the reason they were great is because you guys are awesome. HeroClix is the single-best community I've ever encountered, period. That's not a typo - the game is more than plastic and rules, it was the sum total of our experiences and conversations here as well, at least for me. HeroClix was as much about the miniatures as it was about the people I met at events, conventions, and online and I'm proud to have been part of it for the three-year span I was involved.
I loved it from the first time I logged into HCRealms, from the time I met a very good friend of mine for the first time at the Infinity Challenge marquee, the midnight and 2 am Battle Royales at GenCon, getting calls at 9 pm on a Friday that the site had been hacked, the Galactus debacle, and all the other great times along the way.
The thing is - it's not dead, not by a longshot, and I can't wait to see where the community itself takes the game. This isn't sad as much as it is an opportunity in my opinion.
