Not to restart a whole thing, but your example confuses me. When it comes to multi-based figures, I thought you had to choose one of the squares the character occupies for your action. So, if you used Perplex, via a use of BT, wouldn't you have to choose one of the 4 Joker squares, and draw line of fires from that square only?

When drawing a line of fire to or from a multi-base character, the player drawing the line of fire can choose to draw the line of fire to or from any one square occupied by the multi-base character.
You are drawing "a line of fire" to this guy.
You are also drawing "a line of fire" to that guy.
They are not the same line of fire, so you can draw each one from its own square.
I see what your saying, but I'm not sure I follow you yet.
Using the example you gave, say you pick Square A of Joker (Clown Prince Of Crime) to draw line of fire to 1 for Perplex. You activate your BT, but you've all ready chosen Square A for your initial line of fire to start your action. Wouldn't you have to stick with that square through-out the duration of the action, thus only being able to affect every character within 10 squares and clear Line of Fire from square A?
Or are you saying that after your initial Perplex, and are granted the ability to affect every friendly character (with keyword or T/A of course), you then get to re-choose your Square of your multi-based character each time you draw a new line of fire?
Always remember, there is a little bit of NolaN in everyone.
-The NolaN
It states on page 10 of the rule book "If the range value is greater then 0 and the character is not adjacent to an opposing character, then your character can make a ranged combat attack." So Firelord is stuck.

The Firelord discussion was about the early days of clix when the ranged combat rules were different for flyers. (I can even use the term flyer to describe him. )

Let's say that you have 10 targets. That's 10 lines of fire.
Each one of these is a distinct line of fire.
For each line of fire, you are drawing "a line of fire" and go to that rule I quoted. Each line of fire can originate from a different square.
The rule does not say you pick a square for the game effect. It says that pick a square for the line of fire. Multiple lines of fire = multiple squares.

I was referring to the comments about line of site, when its not mentioned for making a range combat attack

Wait... so Xavier could use a fig as a conduit to perplex itself?
We don't know yet. He can certainly draw LOF from a friendly keyword character, but we don't know if the 10 squares will be counted from Professor X or the friendly keyword character.

wow, i'm still in the process of reading this long thread, I thought this would have been resolved by now... explained in the player's guide for example...

The Player's Guide came out right after the set came out. It didn't have a chance to address any of the issues involving GSX.
It says he can use his damage powers, which only include outwit, perplex, and his outwit SP. So I'm not sure what's taking so long to say "yes he can use them." Until then just ask your judge what he says.
