The odd thing about Popeye's fried chicken is there's no sign of Popeye when you go there.
There used to be. I want to say that they phased him out back in the late '80s. The odd thing that I've noticed about Popeye's is that they always seemed to be placed on the worst intersections for traffic. Or, if they weren't previously bad, they *become* terrible when the Popeye's moves in.
Well, here's another interesting thread that was derailed thanks to a few people who couldn't keep a civil tongue in their heads. I honestly wonder why I even bother sometimes.
Yeah, I posted based on your OP and a few of the early ones, not seeing his post until a few moments later. Trying to keep the admonitions of mods in mind, and not seeing much hope in trying to reason with him, I just reported the post (this was after the thread was closed) rather than respond to it.
We've never been there, yet the ads alone have my daughter fascinated by the prospect of eventually eating some wicked chicken. Complete with "cool ranch dipping sauce." My kid loves commercials.
So your location doesn't have Chipotle or Popeyes. Truly I must rethink my rankings of most rural places in America as I didn't have southern Indiana on the list.
I've never been in a Popeye's. While I've seen one in a mall, it wasn't at a time when I was looking for something to eat. To be frank, at least in this part of PA, they tend to be located in neighborhoods where I'd rather not stop any longer than a traffic light demands.
Oh, wait, I know that I've also seen one in the Gallery area underground near the Market Street terminal in Philly, but with all the things to eat in the Reading Terminal Market, not to mention other restaurants in the immediate area, it was only noted casually in passing.
It could be that if I ever tried it I'd really like it. So far I have nothing to base an opinion on.
Speaking of a fast food place I've seen ads for for years, but which is only just penetrating my immediate area (we have someone monitoring the foundation work on one that will go up less than two minutes walk from where I'm sitting), there's Sonic. Their plans are to have this one built and open by the end of November.

Yeah, that one guy hovers in and out of my "That guys a dick" list. He's also a REAL big fan of dragging race/social/political issues into areas where they often don't even TANGENTIALLY fit.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?

We had the same thing back when we had cable. We'd see Sonic commercials all the time, but the closest one was an hour away.
The commercials, for some reason, had us very curious. Then we found out that they had Cheesy Tots.
Burger King got rid of their Cheesy Tots and ruined our LIVES!! So, we decided that the next time we went out in that direction at all, we'd be going far enough to see what Sonic was all about.
Their Cheesy Tots were tater tots with american cheese melted on top; a far cry from the goodness that was Burger King's version.
My opinion on Starro is pretty much the same as yours. However, those of us who have him know not to bring him (and there are 4 of us who actually have one). The one guy (there is always that one guy) who would bring him and did, lost with him to me. However, on that day I metagamed the scenario, realizing 1) he had just acquired a Starro and 2) the build of the game was begging for it without realizing it. I ended up played E2 Superman and some stuff, and waited until the right time to unload on him before he healed. Even then, he healed once or twice before that. It almost came to time, as it took me most of an hour to set up the kill turn. No game should be that difficult.
I would disagree. The best games I've ever played are the ones that are that difficult. The hard fought wins are always the best.

We dont have a target, popyes, chick fila, chipotle, culvers, tgif.. infact itd be easier to list what we do have.

There are loses that still feel like victories, you can lose and still put up a perfect game. like a 24-23 state championship lose to the number 1 seeded team when yours was the 8th seed and were predicted to lose by 14. i took pride in that game even know we lost.
