I think one thing causing me some confusion stems from knowledge from prior games but not the most recent one.

People are fairly sure Michael is with Sineater and Mafia.
People are talking about the JL being Mafia.
Michael was not any conglomeration of Leaguers but he did serve Kallum who was Superman / Odin...a likely candidate for Mafia based on what I read.

So how does Sineater factour in there?

I'm feeling the talk of multiple Mafias is smokescreen being the rules outright state that all Affiliations except Sineaters are "flavour" and all working to same Win condition.

I had to PM him on the Syndicate at the very beginning when Stranger needed character choices and then when the game started cause I guess he wasn't in the habit of checking HCRealms every day.

The Syndicate has been down for about two weeks, though. :/

No mention of it on MafiaUniverse or anything. I know the home forums of a couple Syndicaters. I'll see if I can get word to him or see if there's an open Discord chat or something.

To be perfectly clear, the rules list all affiliations as "Mostly flavour" And definitely note that Justice League is not listed as an affiliation.

I'm not 100% on JL being a/the mafia but it's a fair line of reasoning.

I think everyone united against 1 mafia in this game seems a little bland, especially with 44 characters. I suspect BTSC groups with alternate win conditions or just a lot of neutralesque characters with alternate win cons outside of the standard "kill mafia".

Also Sineater = Kallum. You should probably reread the last mod post of the last game to get a sense of the setup. But basically Sineater + Michael + allies are almost certainly a mafia. Justice League opposes them and are possibly another mafia. The Ox and Horse are (I believe) heads of criminal organizations (perhaps a single criminal organization) and could also be a potential mafia.

Sineater was revealed to be Kallum at the end of the last game. Kallum has been making Endless into artifacts and kidnapped Danicycle. The Justice League was formed to take down Sineater and rescue Dani (who is supposedly already dead).

Stop Distancing and buddying me in the same post...seriously though, I think I asked for clarification as to why Jack was scumreadding you because I didn't understand the Lamplighter connection and was assuming something else, don't think I really "had your back" was trying to unpack the read.

Could there be multiple Sineaters? Or is he like a raidboss? Even if there are two mafias, I have a hard time believing that the win condition for all the factions listed would be different then what he stated. Just depends on if Stranger has a history of being flexible, from a certain point of view in his descriptions.

Funny thing? It is Bob and Jack running circles around each other over if sharing opinions on what makes a good Lynch is a decent idea or not.

I wouldn't put it past Sineater to have a "backup" body.

After what happened last game it wouldn't shock me to see Stranger pull back on the multiple mafias to make this more traditional in terms of factions. Until we see how many shots are fired tonight, I'm putting a pin in spinning my wheels on how many "threat" factions there may/may not be.
