It really sounds like the recent changes are universally hated by the player base. I can't imagine Second Dinner continues unless the whales are still whaling.
Anecdotal but all my friends who play aren't pleased by it and they're all level headed dudes (as opposed to say the constant alarmists on reddit who think every change to the game equates to the sky falling).
I personally think the spotlight caches are fine, but the throttling down on collector's tokens and gold while simultaneously making many of the bundles cash only is atrocious.
I think I just opened 2 out of 3 avatars. The other was credits to get to that next avatar...
On the positive side, I've found a deck that is working for me and if I'm lucky could get me to Infinite today.
3s -
2 - Sue Storm
3 - Brood, Surfer, Jugg, Killmonger, Nakia, Rhino, Shadow King*, Beast, Polaris, Maximus
and Sera
I wanted to highlight that Shadow King is incredible to drop on turn 5 or 6 depending on what's going on and who goes first. He undoes all the work for Hulkbuster/Phoenix Force and any other enhancements there. He also reduces Venom back down to a little 3 from whatever buildup he's been given. If things work out right and you can drop SK and then Surf your team... it's a nice way to deflate a lot of the other meta (including all the Bast/Kitty stuff). EDIT: Sue Storm swapped in after getting kicked in the butt by her repeatedly with that post-game stuff. Also makes SK even more dangerous and let's me see if they're going to Cosmo my Sue and then I can make adjustments.

Not gonna lie, SK definitely put the breaks on my Move/Phoenix deck that I've been working on. Enough so that I have to think about the counters I would want to add.
And not go back to old faithful, Luke Cage.

Luckily I did pull LT on my Purple cache drop, but the lack of getting any collection tokens over the course of the weekend was a huge dampener. Well, I have to hope I still get tokens to pull Echo so that my next purple drop will be the Kang/Iron Lad I don't have.

Had a couple things go my way and made it back to Infinite. The match that pushed me over the top ended up being a double-snap where the guy thought he had me until my Jugg hiding behind IW smacked his beefy Hulk to a useless location.
Played one match in Infinite and again took out a deck that thought it could use Spidey to lock up a lane and best me. This time with Cosmo in another (thanks to Sue drawing him out). So it looks like this deck is good enough to be in this tier based on the anecdote of a single victory against another Infinite player... all the data I need! Time to take it into Conquest and promptly get my butt smacked around.

I've been running a very similar surfer deck. Mine takes out Sue, Beast, Polaris, and Rhino for Storm, Nova, Luke Cage (or Goose), and Forge.
Fun fact: Luke Cage protects you from your own Shadow King.
Yup.
I see Bounce got nerfed pretty hard. Ham and Kitty were definitely go tos when I ran my version of it.
Phoenix needed a boost though. It was really hard to get things going with her without Magik and/or Sera. Or location luck. My way was Psylocke/Electro with someone that could destroy him after so Carnage, Venom, Deathlok.

Could not be more random, but if you want Agatha "points"/boosts/whatever...
Proving Grounds is a fun time with her. When the Bugle location gives them Agatha... priceless.
When the surrender because they don't know what you're doing... good stuff.
One of the funnier things that happened to me was when I was playing a match and it looked like I was playing to drop Galactus so my opponent just quit.
I don’t even have a Galactus. But it did help me stumble into a Galactus feint styled deck. I don’t think I have it saved anymore though.

Latest deck that first kicked my butt in Conquest and then I turned around and used it myself to smack around an Evo in Conquest:
Destroy II (my second version of a Destroy deck):
Nova, Psylocke, Carnage, Venom, Deathlock,
Shuri, Iron Lad, Nimrod
Destroyer, Zola, and Knull (or Death, depending on what you think will benefit you, or what you have on hand).
EDIT: Destroy II is now using Human Torch over Nova and Phoenix Force rather than Destroyer. This lets the deck play with some flexibility based on whatever I'm facing. It got my another Infinite Ticket, so I should be able to get all the rewards I care about (gold, credits) without needing to win too much more in case the tide turns against the deck. I will say that my favorite thing now is having a 12-power Nimrod that I can spread to 2 locations (via Turn 6 Venom+Carnage/Deathlock at multiple locations) so that Shang-Chi can backfire and give me more Nimrods. It's got weaknesses, but most people seem to be running things that this can confuse and that's keeping the playing of games fun.

I've seen X-23 on the horizon, so my plan is to save purple caches for her drop in a few weeks, and meanwhile try to pick up Legion and Mirage for 3k each just to get their weekend events and hopefully be able to rebuild.
I opened 1 purple this weekend trying to pull Echo and instead got the same thing I got in the last week, which was Spider-Gwen replaced by a truly unwanted variant. First was an Iceman, and this time was Stegron. STEGRON. Like I don't even have 5 boosts for him to use that cover for a single level... that's how little I care about Stegron.
But that opening experience really solidified the feel bad for this new system. I heard they're changing it to give 1000 tokens in the next patch, but no idea how long until then.

I was impatient and opened a spotlight cache (I was only going to be able to open 1 this cycle, but I didn't have any of the cards) and randomly got Jeff. I have been EXTREMELY lucky with these and still think the change was mostly bad (primarily what they did to tokens and gold).
I'm not going to pick up Legion or Mirage after looking at my acquisition of tokens. I'm at 5,750, so I should have no trouble getting to 6k for X-23 in case the caches decide to thwart me. The upside of blowing caches on X-23's week is that Silk will be in there, too and I don't have her either, so at least there's less of a chance of having a terrible time. I still hope that by then they've made some adjustments, like bumping the 50 tokens to 100 and putting gold back in caches... but we'll have to see.
Luckily there's still some gold in the season caches (past 50) so playing as often as I do (like a dummy) is still giving some small rewards.

My luck continues. Decided to open another spotlight and got Legion.
He's a real fun card. Haven't tried the Storm trick yet, but have pulled some shenanigans. I fully expect him to get changed a bit as he seems to be everywhere and the storm turn 4 into Legion turn 5 can be nasty. Basically Spider-Man's all three lanes.
I enjoy Stegron. I really enjoy F-ing up Wong set-ups with him. I may try that SK deck of jackstar's. I've been meaning to try to use him.
EDIT: Gotta like it when your opponent powers up Venom to 27, then he gets Quantum Tunnelled back into his deck, and then you Weirdworld draw that Venom on Turn 6.
