Aha, just remembered that I have a Monsterpocalypse Cthugrosh. That might actually work for my Shuma->Cthulhu conversion. The scale will be slightly small, since monpoc used 1"x1" bases for the little guys and 2"x2" for the big ones compared to 1.5" and 3" for Heroclix, but I think if i can build up the base a little bit, it will be a pretty good fit.

Plus, it's prepainted, so I won't have to bribe my friend to paoint it for me.

I don't see the msrp listed on that page, so I don't know how the price will compare to existing playmats made by others.

On X-Mas eve he played bumper cars with an 18 wheeler or 2 and the inner concrete barrier. He walked away sore, but otherwise without a scratch. I talked to him a couple weeks ago on the phone because we have both not played clix in a while.

Do not think it was quite this bad though.

Yeah I know him, he used to play at Dicehead back when I first started. He would curbstomp me, but was cool about it and would go over how he curbstomped me and taught me a lot about playing clix.

Note to self: acquire proper tools for modelling. I need to get a hobby knife or something like that, since my pocketknife isn't sharp enough and keeps slipping. I haven't sliced any fingers off yet, but I also haven't been successful at properly separating Shuma from the base. I manage to separate one tentacle, but the others are affixed a little more solidly and I'm going to need a better knife to make a clean cut.

Also, the Monsterpocalypse Cthugrosh looks tiny relative to other colossal characters, so I might end up getting that reaper Cthulhu yet, if the base size is right.

Stick him in the freezer for a couple of hours and then give him a good yank.

Will that break the glue without breaking the plastic? I'm kind of worried that it would leave pieces of tentacle stuck on the base.

I've found the glue gives before the plastic in most cases but I haven't had any practice with Shuma.

Sometimes you guys just creep me out.
