Rolling for the Zeat Beam, gets 6. Adam Strange goes back to start. This time that's just fine.
Penguin uses his Zzzzzwap to give himself Energy Explosion, RS to N20, targets the Vision, AV10 on DV17. Rolls 6.
Penguin Outwits Dr. Strange's ESD.
Adam does the Zeta Beam thing to M24 this time. Shoots at Strange, AV9 on DV17. Gets 5. Rolls 3. Doesn't get pulled back yet.
Before I leave the realm of the 60s, the Flash has such a rich Rogues Gallery (so rich that they bought themselves the name!) And they're such the quintessential comic book villains. Cheesy names, gimmicky powers, but they're great fun. Very much a product of the era. If I were to only take one - and I think I might have to - Captain Boomerang just has to be it. Fast Forces. RS to O19, double targets Vision, Strange and Nighthawk with EE. AV10 on DV17 for either of the first two. +3 to Nighthawk. Gets 10. Well I suppose I should take advantage of getting the 10 I needed to hit Nighthawk. 2 to him, or 1 after Toughness. 1 to Strange. Also hits the Vision, even if he doesn't choose to do any direct damage to him. That means Wanda is subject to the Splash, for 3 to her. 1 to Boomerang, but worth the tradeoff, I'd say.
Need a position check on Boom. I don't see anything matching him on the map. If he's directly replacing Lightning Lad and targeting Dr. Strange he needs to rs into row 20.
"You are indeed powerful, space man, but there may only be one 'Strange' here and it is I," Dr. Strange says binding Adam with the Rings of Cytorrak and tossing him into a wall.
This new Adam Strange was fun. I'm sure he'll make the rounds again in other games.
Time for me al last to move into the Bronze Age, which for convenience, I will simply define as the 1970s. There were certainly a few notable things about the 70's for DC, which I hope to give a nod to, but I don't feel like it needs a ton of points to cover, so I left it for fairly late in the game. As already discussed, for Batman, so many of his main cast was introduced so much earlier and then things largely stagnated, with the same villains (worthy though they were) rehashed over and over again or else some very forgettable ones indeed, but there were one or two that debuted in the 70s that broke that mold and really made their mark, and the biggest is probably Ra's al-Ghul. While technically from a much later period, the DKR is probably the most playable Ra's. And I don't think the dial misrepresents the character from the comics. Despero TKs him to O18
Shade bumps him further to L16
Ra's on Nighthawk, with his CCE for a +1/+1. AV11 on DV18. Gets 6. Rats. Should have gone for the AV all the way.
"What...?" Nighthawk asked, instinctively taking to the air. Ra's al-Ghul's sword sheared off the tips of his wings where a moment earlier it would have taken his head.
"You will pay for that interference, magician," Ra's al-Ghul told him.
"The magician is the least of your worries!" Ghost Rider says charging in on his cycle in a frightening pose. Hellfire wrapped around the villain easily takes the breath out of him.
"I think I peed just a little right now," Nighthawk says as he stands adjacent to him.
"Yeah, you're quite the hero, huh?" Ghost Rider says dismissively.
Boomerang makes his Damage 3 and tries for Breakaway. Gets 6. RS to P17, triple targets Nighthawk, Strange and Vision, AV10 on DV21, 19 and 17. Gets 4.
Replacing Ra's will be daughter Talia, as much a part of that story as her father. I'll take the cheap Alpha figure and I guess I'll go for Ghost Rider, AV9 on DV16. Gets 9. Blades is 5. Should've gone for Kyle, but I've gotten too many low rolls in this game lately. 3 to Ghost Rider after Invulnerable.
Penguin puts out a Dehydrated Henchman, who moves to J21
Batgirl on Vision, AV10 on DV17. Gets 12. All these high rolls now. Oh well, I shouldn't complain. 3 to Vision after Toughness.
"When you're fighting a robot, an electric batarang seems to be the way to go," Batgirl decided. She threw the weapon and the electricity disrupted the Vision's systems.
"I will avenge my father," Talia said, thrusting a sword at Ghost Rider. "We may not always see eye to eye, but it is my duty as his daughter."
