Has the Administrator of that other site been able to offer some sort of public retraction and/or defamation of this individual? Or is this simply another one of those tough luck situations?
Des: I do recall that conversation about Horus L.4. As a tech, Inferno or the Spirit of Flames, are interesting additions. But, inside of a Fiend deck, how effective is this? The effect of Inferno greatly benefits from the Winged Minion+DNA combo, but unless a Fiender starts looking for every Fire Fiend out there to squish together, this deck would take on a completely alien look.
Don't get me wrong, if that's what it needs, so be it. But, I am always on the Fiendfront, and if the inclusion of Inferno means I need to take out the Fiends, then I should also take out this subject from this thread.
<sigh /> This is unexpected, and unfortunate indeed. I'm totally game for the sharing of knowledge, but man, give reference where reference is due.
I thank you all profusely for coming to bat for me because I would have never seen this article ever since I can't get out to all of the forums. I'm going to attempt to contact the administrator of that site and see if I can get it pulled or at least changed for the source of the article.
On to more important things. Squid, I'm going to try and dig into some cards and see if I can find any more for your booster/destruction. Red-Moon baby has always seemed like a wonderful card to try and take advantage of. Special summon their uber buffs to your side 8^D The only other I can think of at the moment is Sword Hunter, but he's a really rough tribute and the destroyed monsters take up your spell/trap zone.

I was pretty angry about it, but we shouldn't dwell over this. There is only so much we can do.

I'm kind of in the dark about what's going on with this deck but...
I'll contribute toward an area in which you guys have failed to discuss:
Your oppenent needs to have some monsters on the field in order for these effects to trigger.
The Shallow Grave
Spear Cretin
Cyber Jar
Morphing Jar #2
Gilasaurus
Familiar Knight
The Shallow Grave doesn't seem like it will be ALL that useful in this deck, assuming that you are taking an aggressive role. It could be used to reuse Spear Cretin...
Spear Cretin is obviously a pretty decent choice. You can set up a defensive lock if you have two, put monsters on your oppenent's side of the field, and revive your own fallen monsters. I personally prefer the recursion route because this will give you some resource recovery with Card of Safe Return.
Cyber Jar is pretty typical. More often than not, your oppenent SHOULD be getting some monsters from the flip.
Moprhing Jar #2 is just awesome. Their monsters will be a lot easier to kill when they are in defense position. (Unless you are like me who has recently seen some light with high def. monsters)
Gilasarus isn't really worth it....period.
Familar Knight would be really good if you are running some >Level 4s with difficult summoning requirements. *cough*Fiend Baou*cough* But other than that - I'm not seeing so much out of it, seeing how it:
1) Has to be destroyed as a result of battle
2) Gives your oppenent some options on THEIR TURN!!! (Always a bad thing)
3) Isn't a fiend. (I'm assuming that you're running Necrofear)
Squid, I'm very intrigued by that Horus deck. You'll have to let me know how it goes.
As for the sets, I am intrigued, most of all, by Kozaky and Cyber Archfiend. I was looking at Cyber Archfiend the other day and thought that it would be quite good for Ritual decks. After emptying the hand for the ritual summon, topdecking it would be like an extra Pot of Greed for you next draw if it survives to the end of the turn. Needless to say it got my brain going...
And then it destroys itself, so pretty easy Necrofear food.
As for my Horus deck, I'm currently disbanding it for the favor of more pure fiend decks. I will probably rebuild the Horus based purely around Dragons and see how that runs for the fun of it until Royal Decree comes out as a common in the warrior structures. Then I'll go back to other Horus builds.
My current deck project is Reshef. And that's all I'm going to say about it. I pulled one at the Sneak Peek, so of course I've got build a deck around it.
Also I'll be offline for a weel or so after Friday - vacation time!

Well hope this helped.
It most certainly has! Like Great Dragon said, thanks a million for reminding me of Baou. I already had 2 Wicked..Flamberge in the deck to begin with. *smacks head*
Shallow Grave is in there for helping to trigger Horus's summoning effect. But it isnt that great. I kind of want them in another deck too, so out they will come.
Morphing Jar #2 would be very cool. But as its not a fiend, Im going to simply try teching 1, and maybe siding another to see how useful it is. (always loved that card!)
Im not really sure where the deck is going either. Im kind of following where it wants to lead me.
and DMU: Once I get a better grasp on what the deck is whispering to me, I will post it and let you know. Its fun right now, but Im not sure how the performance would hold up against my store's traditional decks.

*sweeps a bunch of cards off of the keyboard for room to type*
Do you have a problem with your card pool? You shouldn't limit the deck's potential because of the amount of cards that you have. I usually never have all of the cards that I want for a deck. I just make proxies and trade for or buy whatever card I don't have 10-20 minutes before the tournament starts.
Hell, some decks I don't even bother building a physical form because I don't have ANY of the cards.
The fiend thread is still up and as lively as ever!
I know what you mean about not actually building decks. I recently came into a deck bulding program that imports the card files from Ronin, constantly keeping the pool up to date. It's a beatiful thing. Working on my Cyber-stein OTK. So far Waboku and Kuriboh are the biggest thorns in my side.
In recent news, my fiend deck has it's first official tournament win! Plus many other 2nd place finishes.
Congrats Saturnine!!!! Way to show the world fiends mean business!!!
Hey Squid! I think most of this has been covered by Des and Waldo, but here's what I've come up with for your "destroyer" monsters:
Des Dendle
Guardian Baou
Zombie Tiger
Absorbing Kid from the Sky
Elemental Hero Flame Wingman
Guardian Angel Joan
KA-2 Des Scissors
Needle Burrower
Sword Hunter
Fenrir
Shinato, King of a Higher Plane
Andro Sphinx
Sphinx Teleia
Des Dendle and Zombie Tiger are specific unions, so they may not be worthwhile. But you have some options.
LOL! I am woefully short on many cards, but Shallow Grave is not one of them. I keep several deckbuilding binders with cards in triplicates. Extra copies get filed alphabetically according to monster attribute, spell, or trap. Im just lazy about pulling out the boxes to find those extra.
Besides, it frequently forces me to look for cards outside of the norm to fill the spaces. Its only for cards like Giant Trunade and Scapegoat that I find I am needing more than 6 copies.
Saturnine!!! Congratulations. Its been a while since Ive seen your posts here. I am most, most heartened at hearing you are not only still working the Fiends, but have conquered with them, as well. Again...Congratulations! And, your post count is at a divinely Fiendish number.
You know, there is one monster that has been mentioned repeatedly by others for my idea of power boosting and destruction, that keeps nagging at me. Ive never really tried to use it, but Needle Burrower sounds like it could be sick. A dark monster, 5*, Machine. DNA Surgery could make it Fiend for Winged Minions. Or, it could make my Fiends into Machines for Limiter Removal madness and a quick Necrofear summoning.
The only problem with it, as I churn the grey cells, is that it would seem to call for eliminating the Horus angle. Ill have to look and see how well I can fit it. Maybe just as a tribute monster tech.<_<

Ok, now I'm jealous.
But anyway, you can only take the Horus angle so close to Horus because of the 3-card-per-deck rule.
3x Horus
2x Horus Lv.6
1x Horus Lv.8
I'm guessing that is your line up. Why not throw in more LV monsters along with a few copies of Level Up?? All the LV monsters have that "Monster Destruction" effect. Why not??
P.S. For anyone that cares, I've been having some AWESOME luck with Reload and Card Destruction. I've been decking 3 Reloads and 1 Card D lately and it works amazing! I guess because of all of this "Trinity" nonsense - I usually play all three in the first turn. ^_^ (Then of course following up with a Magician of Faith)
Whoops - didn't realize that we got off topic. Oh well, it's not like it hasn't happened before. Squid - Why did you take these tactics in here?
Rope of Life is a good card but the discard is a cost; the dark realm monsters wouldn't be special summoned when discarded this way.
P.S. Both of Aaron Smith's plagiarized articles have been removed. Unfortunately his third article on the banning of BLS has still been published.
Don't know if its been mentionned but one combo that as of recent can be accomplished involves a forgotten Fiend-support magic card called Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler. Though at first, the idea of having to remove monsters on your side of the field for a simple revival effect is quite a turn off, this card can combo easily with cards like D.D. Survivor (Since Survivor will return, you'll get 2 monsters back for simply playing 1.) and Mind Control (Puppet Magic does not ask you to tribute a monster for the revival, it asks to remove from the field, so Mind Control can be used in this scenario). Although D.D. Survivor might ruin the theme idea, it definately helps fiends out in this case.
