Actually Des, it's dead simple getting 5 monsters in the Grave, especially in Dark Realm and Level Up decks. And, I don't use it in a deck with Necrofear ;)
*Smacks a big ol' HUGE THREAD Stamp on the title of this thread*, You guys really have been busy, I mean.....wow 177 pages I hope to read it all one day but that'll have to be this weekend. I started making a decklist for a fiend deck a while ago but I abandoned it I might get into fiends later depending on my mood. Just wanted to say congrats on your 177(almost 178.....200 man that'd be huge x_x you might want to consider starting a follow-up thread so this one can die and another behemoth can arise). =D
Have you not seen Gutterpuppy's Archfiend only tactics? That one is quickly rising to the same standards. I would not be surprised if one of the 2 Dark Realm monster threads Ive seen do the same.
Des: I rarely proxy cards anymore. Ive found it ridiculous to try out every slip of paper and collect those. Ill only try it if it really interests me. Point is, I cant say for certain anything about Jar of Avarice, cause I havent tried it. Your point about putting 5 monsters in the Grave means that I will first test my Mazera deck and see how fast monsters actually do go in the Grave. Then Ill have an idea of whether or not I want to bother with it. Too bad they didn't release Painful Choice. That would have made things obviously simple.
Hey Squid, thanks for clearing me up on the DDS attribute. I forgot that he was lumped together with all those weirdo earth zombies from PGD. Well I have always enjoyed using Des Lacooda, but Wandering Mummy? The only time I used that sucker, my opponent spent the whole match "wondering" what on earth I was doing using that monster.
But back to DDS. I think he may see increased play in the post 10/1 format. We may see alot more face-up monsters in duels with so many swarming possibilites. Also, deulists using decks that can afford the tributes should definately consider side decking him. Also, even though Metamorphosis will go to 1, there is nothing better than wiping out an opponent's field with DDS, playing Metamorphosis on him to get a Dark Blade the Dragon Knight, then attacking directly to remove all of their precious monsters from play. Heheh.
I was also wondering with all of you fiend guys, how much do you think Goblin Elite Attack Force will be used? What I'm really asking is, how much would you say that 1500 defense will keep him safe? I figure it is still enough to keep monsters like searchers and Zaloogs at bay, so it may be just enough. Have any of you playtested him enough to say generally how much the Goblins' defense holds up?
Dragon-Reborn, you bring up an awesome card. Puppet Magic is another one of those cards that should probably see more play than it does. Like you've said, you can get another GAEF with it's effect, but there's a few other things you can do with it worth mentioning:
Dark Jeroid- Use his effect, then bring out a Slate Warrior or Goblin Elite Attack Force from your graveyard with Puppet Magic to rock your opponent's weakened monster.
Byser Shock- Tribute for him, then once his effect clears out some pesky traps, then snag a Mefist with Puppet Magic to pummel your opponent.
Shadowslayer- There are instances where a direct attack with him is plausible and safer than attacking with one of the larger attackers, so Puppet Magic allows you to swap out a bigger attacker like Slate Warrior for a shot at reviving him for a direct hit.
Manju- If you use either Zorc or Rashef in your deck, once a Manju gets his searching effect you can use Puppet Magic to snag a level 4 fiend from your graveyard.
There are many more combinations, since Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler is such a versatille card, but those are a few that I think are worth mentioning again.
Another thing i like to use puppet magic for.. when giant or (I use it insted of GEAF so i can use DDV) after an orc attacks and then takes a nap, swap it for another lvl 4..
Jar of Avarice is crap. 5 monsters!?! I don't think you guys really understand how difficult it is to get 5 monsters into your graveyard, let alone how painful it is to send them back to the deck.
No Necrofear? No Thanks!
I hafta agree with Cardmaster on this one...Having played An Archfiend Deck before,I found it extremely beneficial whenever I can bring back a used up Terrorking Archfiend...With the searchability power of Pandemonium...I wouldnt agree to using Major Riot though...I actually built a Deck around it before, until I looked at the fine print :D
I personally am looking forward to the new Dark Realm monstrosities myself...Too bad they banned Graceful and Delinquent. And Confiscation ruins the party coz ur opponent gets to choose what card is discarded. Crud.
Hey, all! Like I said, I would come back with some new info. Did you know that there is a new Archfiend in the CRV? I just pulled it out of a pack, but I didn't get much of a look at it. I think it doesn't look too bad, though. It's called CYBERNETIC ARCHFIEND. Could someone look up the effect? I'm currently at school, and won't get out for another seven hours (just started). Well, I'll stop by later. ^_^
Cyber Archfiend
Attrib: Dark
Type: Fiend/Effect
Level:4
Atk: 1000
Def: 2000
At the beginning of your Draw Phase, if you have no cards in your hand, draw 1 more card in addition to the normal draw. During your End Phase, if you have 1 or more card(s) in your hand, destroy this card.
I'm pretty sure we already had a discussion about this... it's a nice card, and goes very well with the Dark Realm monsters.
we have but Im curious as to Ninja Duelist's take on the card once he has an opportunity to test it out.

Fine print? What fine print......:p  You mean exactly what I did till Desolutionist pointed out? Oh, THAT fine print.
Confiscation hurts, but just be glad that they didnt release Forceful Sentry in conjunction with it. Get rid of some valuable s/t card with Confie-, then slip Boron back into the deck, and voila! You could have been stuck with all the 5* monsters and no effects to get them out.
I have been thinking about Dillie-O's suggestion about Begone Knave is a good one.I would be careful about it but Ican see some nastiness with it.Has a FTK/OTK possibility with Ultimate Offering.I've been thinking about what could really abuse it and came up with:
Breaker the Magical Warrior
Not a fiend but useful.Summon.Get counter.Use it.Attack.Goes to hand.Rinse.Repeat.Unlimited Typhoons with 2 cards.
Dark Jeroid
Summon this little boger and decrease an opponent's monster by 800.Have it inflict damage and it comes back to hurt another opponent. Also has a wierd Asura like properties if combined with Ultimate Offering.
True story with Jeroid. My brother uses generic beatdown.I had stalled with SoRL.Now its gone and he has 2 Gemini Elf,1 Archfiend soldier, and 1 Slate Warrior.I have Ultimate Offering and Begone Knave.I draw and get Jeroid.I summon it and weaken his Slate.Attack.Returns to hand.I then use UO to resummon him.Attack.Repeat til out of monsters.
Lava Golem
You read that right.Sacrifice 2 of their monsters for LG.They start their turn and lose 1000.If they attack and inflict damage it returns to your hand so you can do it again later.
Cards you don't want to use with Begone Knave would be fusions (mainly through metamorphisis),tribute monsters you don't want to resummon (ex Ha Des), or a monster like Necrofear.

Ultimate Offering only gives you an extra NORMAL summon or set. No special summons... (You cannot normal summon during the battle phase)
The best use I was able to come up with Begone Knave! and OTKs was with the Dark Realm monsters.
Well, I don't think it was me that mentioned Begone Knave! Those props go to Des or ByserSquid, if I follow properly. That Jeroid recycling sounds quite tasty indeed. I worked with a different approach to it in my Wall of Illusion deck. Ultimately, I got the Wall out and solid and my opponent was forced to keep bumping or face even more dire concequences.
Yeah Ninja! Let me know what you think of Cyber Archfiend! I have some ideas I want to migrate into my next Archfiend incarnation, but I'd love to hear your thoughts first.
