And the difference between this death for May and the crappy original? This time it was specifically Peter's fault. Just like with what happened with Uncle Ben.
After 400 issues of ASM, and thirty-four years worth of appearances, Peter Parker's Aunt May finally passed away. Recently, in Amazing #391, Aunt May had yet another heart attack, this one brought on by the trauma of the supposed return of Peter's parents and their subsequent exposure as in-genuine. She fell into a coma, and stayed that way for eight issues.
In issue 400 she recovers and returns home for a week, during which time May, Peter, Mary Jane, and Mary Jane's Aunt Anna spend the week together, enjoying each other's company. At the top of the Empire State building, May shocks Peter by telling him that she has known for years that he is Spider-Man. She apparently denied it to herself for that time.
Peter spends a few last, quiet hours with her, and she silently passes away. The funeral is held, and she is buried next to Uncle Ben. The Scarlet Spider shows up later, to pay his respects privately.
A D U L T (i.e. character growth)
Peter didnt need her telling him to eat wheatcakes anymore. He was well into his adult life, and should be happily married, and to have a child someday (May Parker).
And I dont care why, you dont ruin your legacy of Power-responsibility by dealing with the devil.
"And I shall make little coins with my head on them and place them in the thongs of your strippers."
The whole story and concept is just ####. Not even worth argueing over character motivations and such, because in my twenty yearsof collecting comics, this story had the least motivation and even character than I've read almost ever (including 90s X-men) ;p

The marriage wasn't important to who Peter Parker/Spidey is.
It was only done as a rushed tie-in to coincide with the newspaper strips.
Much like Black Panther/Storm was a cheap publicity stunt and likewise suck.
Besides, Peter is supposed to be a loser who nothing goes right for.
Shackling with a wife does nothing but close the door on good stories.

It had plenty of motivation.
Again, Peter would have been personally responsible for Aunt May's death.
Much like how he was responsible for Uncle Ben's death.
MJ recognized that it would destroy him. So talked him into the deal.
With the "Norman Osborn: Protector or Destroyer?" I can't help thinking we could see an AE, but with either of two different figures that could be the Alter part of that Ego.
Comical, Woolverine, Pop of Pop's Culture Shoppe and Wellsboro Comic Con.
Consider it all joy! James 1:2

Double up the AE mechanic with the return of Arch Enemies to go with Alter Ego.
Spider-Man if he turns into Goblin, Iron Man if he turns into Iron Patriot.
YES WE DID SAVE HEROCLIX !
Now thank us by taking care of the people that take care of you.

That's how I see it.....he'll be an AE with both of those figs.
Marvel will probably continue to bend years of comic book continuety just to match the Hollywood versions of their characters. The "One More Day" arc was a true spit in the eye to long term readers.
With every decision Joe Quasada makes I become more of a hardcore DC reader. Killing Cap for political views, rewriting Spider-man's history to match Hollywood, and making lame fallback stories like Secret Invasion are killing Marvel comics for me.
Now to save money for it! counting the weeks until august... factoring in living expenses, carry the Dragon+Con...! dangit! I'll figure it out some how!
The issue with trying to do Wolverine/Daken as a repaint or as the Skrull dual-card thing is the claws. Wolverine's erupt from between the knuckles on each hand. Only two in each set of Daken's erupt this way, the other coming from under the wrist. I'd prefer to see them with different sculpts.
That's just a hand swap. It's like the easiest alternate piece option other than a head swap. Just make two sets of hands, one body. Miniature manufacturers do this sort of thing all the time.
CarlosMucha: that is like be running in a Olimpic race competition just one step to get the gold and then a Giant children place a mirror in your side and you discover what you are really a hamster over a whell and the gold is just a slice of chess. Avatar Summoning: Original GotG, Melter, Whiplash
We know Spidey and Dark Reign will be represented, but I want to know which off-theme characters will make the cut - who will be our Cave Carson for the Web of Spider-Man?
...now, if we can just get Professor Pyg confirmed.
WOW! yoo overdone your master works this time Jimmy! all are awesome!
(Just not sure from were come the Iron Patriot sculp, is based on a cover or something?)
Hi Carlos,
The art used for the ironpatriot was the same art posted earlier in this thread. All I can say is that sometimes you have to sculpt things the way you are told.
I can't post photos until the set is released. The poster looks pretty good though, I think they are tying to improve the paintjobs from the look of it.
