The Captain was the chase I had hoped to pull. As it is I ended up with Rohjaz. Who without other 1602 characters seems out of place in the rest of the collection to me. I like trying to have some kind of theme and he would fit few. Good luck with getting that trade.

Hello peoples. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I went to our venue's 2nd Anniversary party with my daughter in tow today. We had a blast. My co-worker (also the stores "second-in-command") was there with her 3 year old son, so my daughter had a cohort to keep her busy. Well that along with the store's new kitten.

While she was occupied I managed to get a game of Clix in against one of the store's younger players, just throwing a bunch of characters onto a 600 point team without any thought to synergy or strategy. I had GF Klaw, GF Red Skull, Batroc, FF Loki and Maelstrom. Just a random grab bag of villains from my most recent acquisitions box. It was all fun and games until I said, "what the hell, let's have Maelstrom try to pick up Mjolnir." And he was successful. On the second turn. I don't plan to add that one to the tally, since it was just in a pick up game and didn't really count for anything. But man did that one die roll make his weak starting click suddenly beastly. It would have been crazy to see his later dial with those increased stats, but alas I never got there.

I also introduced the kiddo to the Redakai card game and she liked it enough for me to buy a starter set. Not a new regular game to play or anything, just something to burn some store credit on and to give us something else to do together.

It was a great day and one that makes me thankful that I now have a regular venue like Game Knight to call my own. Even though it's been 2 years, the awesomeness of it is still as fresh as it was that first day.

My friend and I are about to play some heroclix.

We decided to each buy two boosters and do a sealed event. We each purchased one Web of Spiderman and one Captain America.

He pulled a Kitty Pryde. I pulled a Doppleganger.

Each sealed game of Captain America I have played I have been able to get exact point values...300, 350, and 700...

That's already a win in your column if you ask me. Doppelganger is probably one of my favorite clix of all time.

Along with the Redakai cards I bought for Isabelle and I today, I snagged 3 GF Cap boosters. I got Sin and a Hydra Officer, neither of which I had. I also pulled a duplicate Klaw, which is a useful duplicate to have if you ask me. Solid Sound Construct Generic for an eventual all Klaw army? I say, Yes!

This is the first time I have ever pulled a chase from a booster.

Here's the odd thing: The booster was partially open at the store. I could see the first two figures. The first one, I saw a Spider-man arm and wrote it off. The second figure was Anti-Venom as I thought "Meh."

I looked back the booster one last time before making my final purchase and saw it was Dopplegange. I was still thinking "I don't like the character and have no interest in him." But then I saw the color of his tab and was like "I'll take a guaranteed Super Rare." On the way home, my friend and I were talking and that's when it hit me, that Doppleganger might be a little more than a Super Rare. I had him pull out the booster and give me the unit number. When he said it was 62, I knew he was a chase.

Speaking of Sin, totally had an idea of a mod with her after pulling two more in the sealed...

Actually there were no chases in WoS...they turned them into Super Rares...

I don't want to burst your bubble, but he really wasn't a chase. The last four figures in the set were intended to be Chases, but at the last minute Wizkids folded them into the set to create more SRs. Yes the printing indicates Chase, but they weren't any rarer than a regular SR. Still, as SLVR said, he is an excellent figure nonetheless.

As for my extra Klaw, this looks like a promising Masters of Evil team:

Doppelganger seems amazing, but I never see him used for some reason. That's a solid pull though.
