The cumulative qualifiers is the one sin that cannot be excused. I do plan on writing about that. Will post some BR experiences later.
But I love that a Doop/Gluttony team won.
Yeah, that was really kind of a slap in the face. And they were so blase when confronted about it, as if they genuinely had no idea why anyone wouldn't be all happy-sunshine-smiles about that surprise.

Just actually posting to see what, if any Realmsers I faced.
I played in both qualifiers.
Qualifier 1 I had:
Wildfire
Atomica
Blackgate Guard
Qualifier 2:
TW Luthor@100
The Grid
UC Outsider
Pride Relic
Bonus props to the guy I played in my very brief tenure at table 1. Probably the nicest person I have played in a while.
I... Think you mean me, I was playing the bizarro outsider shrinking violet team..so if you mean me thanks.
I thought the event was rather unorganized and could of.gone.smoother with a few changes... Found it particularly unsettling that the event wasn't run as advertised, they very much did not take the top 16 from each qualifier. I think allowing 64 people into the constructed swiss.would have been.much better. I went 3-1 in both sealed events.
On other topics, the new exclusives are cool, had a few cool games, was really....underwhelmed & confused by the teams some people who made it in played, can't wait for my next constructed event as I've now got newer and even more sinister plans than before.
Got in a little while ago. Overall, I had a good time. Enjoyed meeting some new clix players and had some fun with the battle royales. My concerns are in line with those already voiced. If cumulative is the new norm, it needs to be better advertised. People not being able to get a refund for events is kinda harsh too. It's not GenCon, its a specific group of people. Lastly, the change to the Nationals on day two. Advertising four rounds, then cut to top 8 only to change it at the event is not good business. I had planned my whole trip around being in a four round top 8 situation. Yes, I could do more battle royales, but I came for the main event. I did state my position and it was well received.
Final note, Congrats to the winner and it was awesome meeting everyone.

What is funny about that is I was talking with Scott, avengers ID video guy and wizkdis rep this weekend, before I made the trip. He said top 32 was 5 rounds, all single elimination. More discrepancies abound!
Edit: I was wrong...I did that to myself and found the email. It didn't say what the format was so I have no idea where I got the idea. Guess it was all on me.

Is that the guy with the fashion sense of Andre from "The League?"
Wearing the camouflage beret and bright white cloth belt with a casual t-shirt and formal silk vest on top?
I ask, because that was the least helpful, most patronizing person, of any people I spoke with, or attempted to suggest helpful ideas to improve the efficiency and overall enjoy-ability. He basically verbally patted me on the head while fake smiling/laughing, completely dodging any actual question posed about why something isn't being run different in a way that is clearly better for multiple reasons; not silly pitches such as, "make every purchasable free for people [like me] (in a red hat? something silly) and have a separate employee on staff for every two people that preregister!" No, this was, "Hey, you might want to check up on that huge stack of cash with nobody attempting to watch it in case a door opens and blows wind, or somebody who needs money enough and sees it sitting there decides to run for it, or any number of other undesirable scenarios in which someone reaches for something on the table and it all comes crumbling down, getting mixed up with other money too.
Call it out. Please do. I'm not saying in any way not to call it out. Believe me, most of the people running this thing from Wizkids side have no great love for me. I'm not defending "them" per se.
What I'm saying is - just being negative without even the barest hint of a whiff of suggesting a solution while literally being insulting is getting nobody nowhere - fast.
Is Wizkids screwing the pooch on this? Sure...maybe. But saying stuff like 'these people's parents should be ashamed' or whatever is (IMO) going overboard. Despite how good or bad they are doing their jobs (which is subjective), they don't deserve to be insulted. For that.
After reading this thread I want to address this statement.
A few years ago myself and some friends attended GenCon, this was our first experience attending a clix game of this magnitude at a major convention and we were sorely disappointed. The disorganization of Wizkids was obvious to everyone, in fact people running booths around the Wizkids booth were taking pictures and laughing at the mad rush of people trying to get their special con exclusives, the pushing and shoving was out of control. Not only were the lines to get to the Wizkids booth for con exculsives out of control, the lines to actually sign up and get started in BR rounds and other events on day one was a joke.
So you are saying that people in attendance should voice their concerns to the Wizkids employees? Well guess what, we did! We spoke to every single person we could that worked for Wizkids about going back to the lottery ticket system to get con exclusives that had worked so well at Comic Con a few years before. Everyone who wants to buy exclusives gets a raffle ticket, then twice a day Wizkids would pull the lottery ticket and if your number came up, you got to purchase the LE figures. We also suggested that Wizkids have an employee gather the people who were waiting outside the main doors to rush their booth and start a separate line in the hallway so that people who were just there for the convention didn't get trampled. These were two simple and logical way to prevent the mass confusion that is constantly happening at these events, and we know it keeps happening because every major event one of these threads pops up.
The organizational problems that Wizkids has had, and continue to have at major events are easily solvable yet these threads keep happening because Wizkids refuses to solve their issues. So for you to suggest that people "go talk to them and offer a solution" is unrealistic at best because time has proven that nothing will change the way Wizkids approaches these events, and first hand data seems to suggest that the people you could talk to will just shrug off your advice and send you on your way.
If I make you a trade offer, even if you think it's ridiculous, please at least respond with a kind and simple "Thanks but no thanks."
Preposterous. We at WIZKDIS do not dare understand, nor care what you feeble minded minions of our capitalist industry declare. We know you shall continue to buy and play just as you always have and you will like it. Because we will neglect to respond in kind to your pleas for change.
Dice rolls will be the bane of my competitive Heroclix career.
FWIW, here is the event description from the WES. Posted it in another thread so I figured I might as well leave it here too, since it has been a topic of discussion:
The 2015 HeroClix U.S. National Championship Qualifiers will be the last opportunity for players to earn a seat in the 2015 HeroClix U.S. National Championship (see below). Two Sealed Qualifier tournaments will be held – 10:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Each tournament will consist of a number of Swiss rounds until there are 2 or less undefeated players. Up to 16 players from each Qualifier will advance to the 2015 HeroClix U.S. National Championship.

Technically not an outright lie, but only technically. Perhaps "lying by omission" would best describe the situation. It smacks hard of deception and "cash grab," whatever the case.

There needs to be a poll question about this, but to those who went I ask; Would you do it again based on your experience? Especially to those who went for the very first time.
